  1. load of rubbish. How you can think anybody will succeed through scouting around lower leagues for bargains, and preventing their manager from running the club in the way he sees fit is beyond me. Right back to the McKeag years make no mistake about it. That is why Keegan left, he realised he was working for a bunch of amateurs. You took your time. Good you've got rid of him. I hope his successors live up to your (and my) expectations. One little point I thought they were being criticised for scouting around La Liga where we just managed to bring in two Argentine internationals. Is La Liga a lower league ?
  2. Wrong. Left Fulham to manage England. Left Man City because he said he wouldn't sign a contract extention, they said "Ok, f*** off now then." You may have missed the "almost" bit so I've highlighted it.
  3. and you must be off yours if you think he could achieve what he wanted before the mob forced him out in 12 months. We haven't had any success in 50 years with the regimes you're applauding. Correction - he spent a lot and was willing to spend a lot more but try not waste it as the others had. Correction - he did not force Keegan out any more than the previous regimes did when Keegan walked away twice before and it seems he was pleading with Keegan to return. Keegan has walked away from almost every job he's has once the going got tough - he doesn't need to be forced out. Ashley's mistake in hindsight was appointing him in the first place. The rest of what you say is totally correct i.e. we're in the s***
  4. Maybe not, I can't remember much before Lord Westwood but I certainly think Ashley was the best leader the club has had in that time and was the best chance we had for a stable and successful future. Somehow though once again we've managed to totally mess it up and despite his almost universal early popularity many now regard him in the same way as the unpopular figures who headed the club before him. He spent more money on Newcastle than anyone had ever done, he didn't look down his nose at fans as though they were something dirty he'd trod on like some previous leaders or insult us the way others (supposedly our own) did. He sat with the fans, drank with the fans and genuinely seemed to want the same as us, previous regimes would never have dreamt of being seen with the commoners. He was a self made proven winner who presented and attempted to implement a sensible structure for Newcastle and reverse the suicidal policies of his predecessors. Yet one of the men he appointed to help us move forward seems to be responsible for his ultimate and incredibly speedy downfall. You choose who you think that was. I think it was Keegan to blame, but concede that most think it was someone else. I've said since the mob started shouting for the benefit of TV viewers that we must be careful what we wish for. Whoever follows Ashley it's unlikely the real owner will ever set foot on Tyneside, they will be represented by someone and NUFC will be treat as just another asset on their books. I think things are now too far gone for Ashley to return and try to move us forward his way, but I still think his vision and plan was our best ever chance, he WOULD have made us successful again. I hope the new regime when it arrives will take us forward, and I will support them if they genuinely have Newcastle's interests at heart but I think we made a grave mistake when we hounded Mike Ashley out of town.
  5. It does a pretty good impression of an anti-Ashley protest group, the only banners they seem to have purchased or constructed seem to carry the anti Ashley/Wise/cockney mafia message. I would say more than 99% of true Newcastle fans are f*cked off right now and go for 100%. It's what we're f*cked off about that varies. Some are f*cked off because Keegan walked again and left the club rudderless. Some actually think that Ashley was good for the club and that Dennis Wise was not specifically recruited to single handedly destroy NUFC and all it stood for, but to recruit young talent. Some find the insults being hurled at anyone from the south of England and mistakenly referred to as "cockneys" as distasteful and ignorant, but I don't think the NUSC will be representing their views at present. I was actually a member of the Newcastle United Supporters Club in the late 60s and seventies, I went to away matches on their coaches and still have the badge. They were great days despite the club and board being sh*t but we never managed to hound anyone out of town. I suggest the first thing on the agenda for the new NUSC should be to campaign for The Magpie Club to be rebuilt. That would be a cause worth supporting. A good way to test your opinion might be to hold your own meeting, setting your own agenda and seeing how many people turn up. There are a significant number on here who have similar views. May be a good idea, but 2 groups ?? Perhaps the NUSC would do better to represent ALL supporters views and provide a balanced forum rather than the anti Ashley agenda they so obviously believe in. NUFC.com should also do itself a favour as well and get back to the football reporting they do so well. They always assume a high moral stance about how they will not relay opinions and protests from web forums, but presently they are using their site for anti-Ashley drivel which would be better off posted in one of the forums they claim to despise ! NUSC are anti Ashley. NUFC.COM are anti-Ashley. Your only upset because your not anti-Ashley. Therefore the new NUSC do not represent me nor many other long standing Newcastle supporters. They should drop any claims that they represent Newcastle United supporters and merely say they represent a section of Newcastle fans who are anti-Ashley. They spend their money producing propaganda to support their cause ( pie boycotts and the like ) and litter the streets of my city.

  8. One question I'd like to ask them is what they intend to do about the city of Newcastle's horredous litter problem ? At least MacDonalds, Idols etc pay local council taxes to help clear up their discarded rubbish.
  9. Shearer is one who "loves" the club but won't touch it with a barge pole when things are going badly. Were we a top side playing in Europe he'd no doubt think differently. But true love isn't like that.
  10. Benwell Lad

    Michael Owen

Absolutely top man, and I haven't always thought that. His intelligence and courage now make me think he will one day make a very good manager should he wish to be. Whatever happens we MUST do everything possible to keep this man at the club.
  11. If they ever move on from the pathetic "pie boycott" and "Ashley is a tw@t " agenda and present themselves as a co-ordinated and structured organisation who want to liase intelligently with those who can actually do something, instead of just repeating the populist rabble rousing, tedious stuff then they could be worth joining.
  12. Like most peopleI wish Keegan was still manager, right now I'd rather have Kinnear than Keegan. That's because Kinnear wants to be here and Keegan doesn't. Joe is speaking to us and Kevin isn't. Thats all.
  13. I guess your unaware that the Vice President (Player Recruitment) does the contracts. Also Keegan does not have the power to sign McGeady but he is responsible for the sale of Faye.` Whatever. I think it's been made more than clear by now that Keegan did absolutely NOTHING wrong and was right to walk out on the club, while Dennis Wise was recruited to single handedly cause the destruction of Newcastle United. Or something like that.................
  14. Hes a young player adapting to this country and league, a YOUNG player, f***ing give him a chance you annoying little charva. PS: Before you try, f*** off with your "how many games do you go to, because me dad pays me into this many games a season" s****. Dead right. The circumstances he came here under and Keegan walking the next day have given this kid a really difficult start. Under normal circumstances in a new country, new club, foreign language etc he should have been nowhere near the first team. Of course he's out of his depth right now but he's showing willing, grafting his pods off and for that he deserves credit. He's doing more for the NUFC cause right now than some of those who apparently "love" the club but now want nothing to do with it.
  15. I don't mind the fact that they want us to boycoutt NUFC products, etc. but I found the why not go to Greggs & Irish Centre comments very nufc.com-like, and a bit pathetic tbh. I don't agree with everything they are doing but was going to join up. That though, was just petty. I'll not be joining, sorry. It really is pathetic and once again just so laughable to everyone outside Newcastle. This kind of agenda proves how devoid of ideas and meaningless they are. I would suggest Newcastle supporters go to the match and support their team through thick and thin (not boo and ridicule individuals as many did yesterday) rather than attempt pastie and pop boycotts. FFS what an embarrassment.
  16. It was said at the time that Ashley personally intervened to give Taylor a new contract. Did he ? Well as Keegan didn't spit the dummy out over that decision it probably meant he agreed with it.
  17. Well at least Ashley did something smart then. Shame he didn't pull the plug on Keegan putting Taylor on an improved and extended contract and giving Faye to Stoke, as well.
  18. Brilliant retort from Farrington, along with Henry Winter probably the only sports journalists worth reading. I still think there's an element of truth in Syed's piece below. The only way that Newcastle fans are ever going to be truly happy is when they have formed a collective to buy the club and have made a pig's ear, as they inevitably would, of a kind that would make Freddy Shepherd's last remaining strands stand on end. When they have rehired Keegan to manage the team, Shearer to be his assistant and the ghost of Jackie Milburn to do the scouting. When they have got control of the club and discovered that their own volatility makes it practically ungovernable.
  19. I read that article on Monday and apart from a couple of small errors, as a lifelong Newcastle supporter I think it is the closest to the truth anyone has got about our problems. Really? Because I think it's absolute bullshit. It is. Disgraceful that a supposed Newcastle fan agrees with it A fan of many decades at that. Seems to me the "disgrace" is perceived as any Newcastle fan having a mind of their own and an opinion which differs from the "sack the board, kill Dennis Wise" mob mentality. Disgraceful.
  20. By insisting we kept Smith & turned down £12m for Milner? And giving Faye to Stoke City while putting Taylor on a long expensive contract ?? There is a lot of support for the changes the Ashley regime were trying to make and Dennis Wise is a convenient villain. As an ex player said this week "the difference between Dennis Wise and Kevin Keegan is when Wise has a problem he rolls his sleeves up and works at it whereas Keegan throws the toys out of the pram" Think I need to see the proof of that lad if you've got it??? Oh wait have you f*** Keegan has been played as a mug by these tossers over the whole Faye and Milner sales! I'm sure he himself as did we all expect the board to bring in better quality players as that's the reason why he sanctioned the deals. But we only brought in a couple that are at best average and tried to sell the likes of Owen. Now if you believe Keegan would ever leave the side so exposed as these cocks would have done then you're more stupid than I thought. indeed. And maybe he can tell us why Dennis Wise left Leeds Who's the "ex player" ? Ex team mate of Wise, the one who scored the goals which put the mackems into the 3rd division many years ago. Of course his opinion will have no credibility around here because he's not a Newcastle legend, just someone who knows Dennis Wise.

Well spitting the dummy and walking certainly left the side (and club he "loves") exposed. Most evidence points to falling out with Keegan being the reason Faye left and if you can't see that then your more ignorant than I thought.
