Was wondering whether this so called interest with Everton and Roma in Mitrovic were just fabricated to pump the price up a bit more. That said, we will probably be sat here this time tomorrow, pissing and moaning about both moves being hijacked.

This, pretty much. Exactly. I could cope with just Mitrovic if Cisse stays. We will likely just use one up top anyway. Ideally we could shift Gouffran and Rivere and bring two strikers in. We need to shift Williamson and Colo is all but done, with Saylor a perma crock. We need two more CBs. I still expect we will just get one. Another RB is needed for sure, unless we really see Anita as a backup RB, which would be a mistake, imo. Its a big year for Haidara and to a lesser extent Dummet but I am happy to go with them and give them a run. We never replaced Hatem so another winger is absolutely needed. Obertan and Gouffran need to follow Sammy out of the door.

At least one of Cabella or sissoko are out of the door imo, if not both. Especially if Thauvin comes in too.

I like Williamson so won't be pouring on the irrational hatred. Nice guy, down to earth, good professional. Fact remains he is championship at best. He has served us well especially in coming up from the championship but he should have been sold and replaced 3 seasons ago. Time to move on and get first team football somewhere else.

A weird approach from a decidedly weirdly run club. It's really not the worst idea in the world. If they are done with the media at least the information gets out there and first hand to the fans without any different agenda added by the press. It rewards our fans and brings them back closer with the club....IF they follow through and actually do this properly and regularly, which seems unlikely.

We have someone proven in this league that with better coaching and service might be at least equally as useful. Can understand trying to get 10m for him now as at 30 his value is only going down, won't be dissapointed if we keep papiss though.

Guess you can add a few extra names on that list (Bamford, berahino, sakho) Striker 1: Mitrovich > Austin > Dost > Carroll Striker 2: Berahino > Bamford > sakho > Deeney .. for me. I'd be happy with Mitrovich and Bamford

Give over, Carver never saw failure in himself or the team. This guy has acknowledged that they failed but he always has the ability to bounce back and learn from his mistakes. The guy is nothing like Carver. He came across really well the other day when I saw him on TV. He seemed very articulate and informed, certainly lightyears ahead of Mr Charver. Absolutely. Harsh. He really came across well last game, he has done a terrific job to be fair, Hugely well liked over here and in the squad. Something that will never be said of any job taken by Carver. Is Sampson a Mackem fan by the way. Playing it up like that in the commentary here.

Regarding the Berahino situation..When Sterling is being touted as 35-40m, the price tag for Berahino, while still laughable, is very realistically what they might hold out for.

Eric Steele has long been rated as one of the best Goalkeeping coaches around. I really hope this comes to fruition. Plus he has won silverware with us.. its a good omen.. there might be an equivalent Anglo-Italian Cup out there for the taking. Seem like we are Round's fall back if no head coach positions pop up, I expect McClaren would make a play for a bit of extra money to get him too. He is a class coach.

We would never pay compensation tbf.
