Unfortunately with basing a game around hoof balls and insisting on playing ba and cisse with no wing play, we aren't going anywhere as a club either.

He has been the only member of our team that actually looks like they want to make something happen every time he plays. Desperately needs to find his end product, was unlucky today on several occasions. Some great crosses and shots that should have resulted in goals. Had some guff shots too but would have been a different conversation if his crosses or shots had been converted.

Eerie look into Sammys future and full morph into Shola. Looks bumbling and slow today because he is being marked so well. Frustrating half. Demba is being extremely wasteful. Williamson is doing his best to drop us in the shit. We are for the most part too predictable coming forward, but at least we are coming forward and actually have more than 1 or 2 in the box for balls coming in. Still weak as piss though.

Cracking shot from Azerbaijan. Totally against the run of play. N.Ireland have been all over them but very wasteful. Fergie is playing well but is too often holding back rather than charging forward. Some decent crosses and play from Fergie though.

Some straight up crazy talk going on here. Not a team player? He is a flair player yes, so that means there will be times where his tricks don't pay off. However he works his socks off all game and some of his passing is sublime. Only having one or two to aim for in the box full of opposition players is a bigger concern. His impact is stifled by the former but also the fact that the opposition now knows all they have to do to shut us down is mark Hatem out of the game.

Right now I'd take Nolan over Cabaye but think 99% of that is down to how our no.4 is being asked to play. Hard to tell as we have never seen cabs player in an advanced position. He does appear to be that sort of player at all though, much more of a playmaker than a goal scoring midfielder. We don't have anyone with nolans instinct to get into spaces goalscoring positions. mind-blowing we haven't worked that out. Two up top just isn't working for us either, not with the personell we have, they are all too similar.
