We saw what happened when we tried something different. Anita freekick to Tiote, Anita corner to Simpson. DOES NOT COMPUTE. MELTDOWN.

Keegan had us playing our best football since SBR. If you exclude him your statement is true, but that's mostly because everyone else we had since then was absolutely f***ing terrible. The football under Hughton was pretty unremarkable. He was sacked before he had the chance to lock into a system that worked for our personnel in the Premiership. 6-0 against Villa and 5-1 against the mackems, aye proper unremarkable that. Those were fantastic results but Hughton didn't have us playing good football consistently in the Premiership. Pardew has his share of remarkable individual results as well. I don't know, things were clicking for us on an attacking front in the months prior to Hughton's departure. While our results were patchy we came forward as an attacking unit, used the wings well and posed a threat through the center of the midfield. Hopefully today's attacking performance is something we can replicate and make the base minimum. It was certainly light years ahead of the majority of performances this season.

We saw the best free flowing attacking football since SBR, under Hughton. In my opinion of course. We looked far better today than we have over the past year and a half, but it isn't quite clicking and hasn't been under Pardew. Normally I would also say the defence has improved post Hughton, apart from today, in general I think it has. Our attacking play however has stuttered and regressed. Could also be to do with player confidence too. By all accounts he was being governed by players and that simply can't happen if you want to run a football club the way Mike Ashley wants it to be run. I am very happy for his success at Norwich so far though, he is a great guy and will always be cheered.

I think like many supporters I have been reduced to accepting mediocrity over the past 5/6 seasons. We would be foolish to dismiss relegation fears but I believe we will finish mid table and hopefully we can extend our cup run. We have given Pardew an 8 year deal, I am happy to follow Evertons lead with Moyes and let Pardew stay. It is the first bump on a pretty smooth road which has got people hysterical. He does, however, make some horrendous decisions and we have been woeful mainly attacking but also defending this season. We all knew Pardew wasn't the greatest choice as manager but we also know Ashley could give two fucks about what we think. I think I am just resigned to keeping a manager in the hopes of slowly building over the next 4/5 years.

Newcastle Utd 1 - 3 Man City - 15/12/12 - post-match reaction from page 32

Hope we continue to play this kind of direct passing football. It has been sadly lacking for a long time. We have to sort this defense out though. -
It's been said enough to be a signature, but Guti needs a spell out of the team to Recharge and assess himself. Problem is we don't have anyone to replace him right now. Marveaux might offer more coming forward but he is a complete liability coming back. He has no intention of tracking back or even busting a gut to get into the box. I like him but he is a luxury player that I could see pardew cashing in on.

No word of a lie there. Can being the operative word. -
Poor freekick and corner aside, he is a key part in our direct approach today and looks fantastic.

Agree, except we deserve to be losing. Defending has been as poor as is possible. -

Disagree this is on of the first times we look like a threat on goal. Jekyll and hyde with our atrocious defending though..and it is absolutely unacceptable even against the quality of the opponents. -

More ironic or depressing that this is our best attacking performance this season. -

Despite the ultra defensive play for the draw team, fantastic start. -
This without a doubt. Get Cisse back in the middle by himself where he belongs. Remy and Ben Arfa either side. Marv, Anita and Sissoko in the middle
-
Just needs out of the team..maybe dropping him is what he needs to push him and stop him looking so burnt out. He looks finishes sadly, whats sadder is that Pardew refuses to even bench him.
-
Good performance from him again. Wish he could keep this playing level and look to improve further.
-
Class tonight, no doubt some really really intelligent passing. Unfortunately a lot of his intelligence was light years ahead of the dross we currently are showing ourselves to be.
-
Would people be happy to see him go to Italy for 2m in January?
-
Up front, scored the leveler..
-
If he had his shit together and took his chance if given one then I doubt anyone would be grumbling. It is easy to swing the fans around if you show you give a shit. Plus most people love a good redemption story... even though they know it will eventually just end in tears again.

...After running into Cisse and Ben Arfa breaking both of their legs -
Defending like shit, incapable of creating anything..especially through the middle. Can't pass, can't retain possession. Hoofball. Horrible horrible football. Newcastle United.
