Jonas wishes he hadn't just seen what Beardsley and asprilla had recorded. "it disgusts me but yet somehow I can't look away!".
-
Feck me, Downing for 15m? Enrique for 25m then. Maybe they will give us a straight swap for Carroll.
-
Can see the attraction with Brighton though, good up and coming manager, brand new stadium, decent city to live in, Poyet would have sold him on the project too. They will be building the team around him too which will serve his self esteem.
-
Hope we do loan him out this year rather than just flogging him. Not sure Peterborough would be my first choice though.
-
One for the doom mongers...I see he was among the "defenders" that returned today. Que Enrique back up plan conspiracy theories. Regardless I did find it interesting he would come back with the defenders not the midfielders. I expect he needs alot more defensive work than offensive if we want to use him in both areas.

The Marveaux signing pleases me more in that us nicking him from the scousers seems to have left them flapping to find someone else with a new LW linked every other day. Obviously hadn't planned for anything other than Marveaux signing.

Wayne Routledge signs 3 year deal with Swansea

Like to see him at Birmingham or Brighton. Can see him going to Forest for some reason. Never heard of this betting site like but they have him already moving to QPR in July http://www.betinf.com/england_transfer.htm -
Would be reasonably satisfied with Zog and Erding coming in. Carr obviously rates Erding highly as we have been tracking and bidding for him for over a year. Not sure where he would fit in to our 4-5-1/4-3-3 though as people are saying he wouldn't be the best person for a centre/target man. There has been enough said about Zog in the other threads, but his return would give us a big boost, he knows the club, area, fans, style of play, can cut it in the premiership and his versatility would be invaluable, provided we don't want to play him at LB again. Would still like a DM though.

Yeah he can play RB or CB, think he prefers the middle but played RB when he was on loan. RB: Tavernier, Raylor, Simpson (Saylor if needed) CB: Colo, Willow, Saylor, Kadar, Tavernier LB: Enrique, Ferguson, Kadar, possibly Naylor
-
I thought Pardew had mentioned looking out for and wanting a CB that can play fullback. Might well be in my head though. Alot of responsibility on Kadars shoulders if we don't bring anyone in. Its a make or break year for him imo, his injuries have been unlucky but If he doesnt make an impression this year I can see us getting rid.
-
Mackems need someone with creativity, they will be all out for him imo. Just depends on how much higher they bid for him than we are willing.
-
Frenchies and Hermans look good. England are frustrating as hell, Kelly Smith is decent the rest are depressing. Better than the Canadian side at least.

In an ideal world last season Campbell was half the player he was two seasons before, motivated and head in the right place. In reality he came here for the money, might have bothered playing for Hughton (if he wasn't injured) but gave up after he was sacked. Campbell was as useless as Marcelino and possibly less willing to play.

Think we will pick up Ireland if the price is right at the end of the window. That will be Nolans replacement. Matuidi will depend on shipping out Smith and maybe Guthrie, getting good value in the deal and other deals and finally the player being will to come. Long shot. Like Ireland I think we are playing the waiting game for Zog and will wait until the last day of the window if need be. He obviously wants to come here and we obviously want him. Dangerous game though, as he could easily end up being pushed somewhere else. I don't see us budging on the figure we have in mind for him. Again alot will depend on how much we broker the striker deal for imo. The club has shown in the past if a deal comes to light that is worth investing in they will, ie Gosling and Taylor.
-
Akin to signing Campbell imo. Not going to happen.
-
Meh, dont believe the one or two thing for a second. Another Striker is a top priority but if there is a good deal in the offing and/or we offload someone we wont hesitate in signing more.
-
Anyone that has the balls to fill the shirt would want it, if they are remotely "worthy" of it they solidify themselves in the starting line up with that shirt. The expectation and myth around it means it has increasingly become a hard shirt to hand out.
-
60/40 with that in comparison to the player. If we signed Messi on a free I would consider that a "Marquee" signing. Likewise if Gateshead signed Ryan Taylor for 3m. The amount of money spent is less important than the difference between the club/player imo.
-
It's a tough one, it does come with pressure and expectations rightly or not. On the other hand resting the jersey or leaving it vacant just fuels the legend and leaves a much bigger expectation on the person that finally does take it.
-
Don't believe Zog is one of the two Pardew is talking about bringing in. I think very much like Ireland he is a player we are registering interest in but sitting and waiting until the last day of the transfer window. Think we will pick them both up if the deal is right, otherwise we will sit tight. Alot is going to depend on how preseason goes too, I think we will be waiting to see if any players are going to step up and how the new players are going to fit into the squad. I think we are where we want to be to survive, minus another quality striker, but we will flesh out the squad if an attractive deal is in the offing.

Would be happy with Defoe, he is very hot and cold but still miles ahead of what we have. Wouldnt want to be paying more than 8m for him though. Sturridge for 20m seems about right in todays stupid market, 10m is reasonable if not still too much but looking around at the likes of Jones, Bent, Carroll and Henderson going for 3 times their actual worth I would be slapping the same price on Sturridge if I was Chelsea.
-
Absolutely, I wouldnt call Simpson International quality but he isn't far down the pecking order. Says more about the turd we are producing as of late tbh.
-
Tend to agree, although I wouldnt say the squad at present or including the Manure trio would be better than 9th. Building a much better squad but lacking flair, maybe Sessegnon will find his feet this season, can see them struggling next year if they get a couple of injuries.
