  1. Darn darn dun dun dun dunnnnn! http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/article1664840.ece sorry if already posted.
  2. This is the hard one, I was pondering just say by some miracle we won the Carling Cup? Ashley is still there etc, how would everyone feel? I was 3 when the Fairs cup was won and I realy would like to see us win something. But in truth I dont see it and fear a relegation fight We can win the league, FA cup and Carling Cup, but its would still be the same as getting relegated if those cockney cunts are in charge, they have nothing but bad intentions for the club. Sorry thought I'd answer the question for 90% of the board users and save them the bother.
  3. This. The last point I especially dislike. Everyones human, everyone makes mistakes. His system looks to have lost us a fantastic manager and possibly put our progress back 8 months. But I have no reason to believe he doesnt want the best for this club or cares any less for it than many supporters. We have a right to let him know what we think of what has happened, but people are promoting everything stopping short of burning his house down. He has everything to prove and a daunting amount of bridges to rebuild. Personally I'd rather see him stick it out (which Im sure HE has the intergrity to do) than sell up to an even more unknown quantity. Everyone is so confident that if we drive him out the ideal buyer will be sitting there with a twinkle in his eye and a magic wand. People are in for a ruder awakening than the past week. If you think managers would be mad to want to work under this system, I tell you any invester or buyer would be mad thinking about owning a club under this pressure and fan base.
  4. I appreciate the fact he has finally gone. Thank you Terry, makes sense to cut any ties to KK and without disrespecting the tache too much we should be filling our back room staff with a much higher standard of coach. He will probably be back though, bless him!
  5. Midfielder or even wingback? Not a striker really is he? Think he pretty much plays all across the park. Keegan simply just wanted him as a replacement for Milner. He turned us down leaving the scouting team red faced and keegan seething. Xisco didnt have much to do with it according to most rumours.
  6. maybe put that on the OP and update it according to media? good idea You can add a rumoured section or split the Interested into confirmed/unconfirmed. Zola Mancini Dechamps Poyet Moyes Are all linked daily.

Anyone that is engaging there brain long enough will agree with this. People can do what they want around the game, before it, at half time and certainly after it but whilst the game is running we have to support the players and lift them to do it one last time for Keegan and even more importanty for us, the supporters. Although it seems it could be argued, that chanting to get the board out, causing havoc and basically giving away the three points to Hull might be worth it in the long run if the board leave. I'd not be the one to argue it though.
  8. Martins didnt play (1-0 to Nigeria), nor was he on the bench. So still 50/50 for saturday. Should hope not he will only bloody hurt himself again. Hope they resist using him tbh.
  9. I'd like Mancini with Zola assisting. It would only be a matter of time before the board pissed Mancini enough to resign by which stage Zola would have at least cut his teeth further in coaching and know the Newcastle set up well enough to take over.
  10. Happy with both the dismissals, we have to have much better coaches in these positions. Love terry mac, but he is the very definition of the managers cronie. It was time he moved on when Souness left so he has done well out of us, likewise he always gave us fantastic loyalty and always will. Good luck to Adam Sadler, he seemed to be doing a good job with the reserves considering his inexperience, I look forward to seeing where he ends up.
  11. http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/bilic-heads-newcastle-wishlist-as-ashley-looks-to-placate-supporters-922546.html "With the greatest respect to women, football is the most beautiful thing in the world" http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2008/sep/08/newcastleunited.premierleague Zola wouldnt be the worst appointment, but I think we would need to appoint someone older and experienced alongside him. Terim would be great experience wise too.
  12. You mean ameobi would have tripped over himself and lost posession of the towel.
  13. To be fair Id rather get in a decent but lessar name coach that will fit into our current system than gamble on a big name maybe adjusting over time. If we are sticking with the current system someone like Poyet or Zola seems more likely than a Van Gaal, Terim or Rijkaard.
  14. Regarding the so called war chest. Keegan said the money would be there for the right players. evidently that was the case ie modric bid, young potential superstar players or established ones still on the up or could give us great service for more than a couple of years . lampard etc were not the right players, they didnt tick the boxes we as a club were looking for. what is becoming evident is that keegan knew the rules, however stupid they are/were.
  15. He has made a total pigs ear of this so far by picking a manager that would appease the fans rather than work under the conditions he wanted. I think he let his heart rule his head with Keegan and it back fired big time. Any real reseach on Keegan would have told him he could never work under the kind of constraints he wanted to impose on him, to be fair very few big name managers would. On the flip side Keegan was naive to go into this agreeing to everything the board wanted whilst probably thinking he could bend Ashley round his finger over time to change things how he wanted. Thats not how a good business is run. Neither, however is what has transpired a reflection of competant dealings. Both board and Keegan gambled, both them and consequently us fans lost. Ashley is a smart man, much smarter than he has made himself look. He will learn from this mistake, he didnt get to this point in his life any different. It will take big character to stick through this, to be honest he has no real reason to. Its an enjoyment thing rather than personal gain, building trust up with the fans again could be next to impossible. For me he has to come out and talk about this whole mess. That or ship out. He will be much more carefull picking the new boss, should he still be around. I'm not hugely versed in knowledge about how these DOF systems work everywhere else. But the manager having NO say on transfers is obscene, he has to at least have a say in who is to be let go and the areas of the team he wants improving. That disscusion can be saved for another thread though. In all I have confidence in Ashley, he needs to find the right man for his system though if he wants to stick with it. Keegan certainly wasnt.
  16. Put your consipiracy theories to bed. http://www.newcastle-online.com/nufcforum/index.php?topic=55830.475
  17. Agreed and Hartson only got 3 games for the same thing. Yeah, but Hartson played for a Londaan club under Arry.
  18. Who I would want in order. Frank Rijkard - Highest pedigree, has worked in one of the hardest jobs in the world, especially when it comes to the people above him at the club. Used to stupid expectations. Hiddink - Really would be anyones number one choice, but is unlikely to be interested or attainable, Id also think possibly the expectations and pressures on him would be too high should he actually come. Mancini - Really like the guy, shafted at Inter, so would set him up well here, got Inter playing great football, very charismatic. Maybe a poor mans Mourinho but I think he is a character people would get behind. Dechamps - Has done well so far, was very happy when I thought we had him before Keegan was appointed. Very forward thinking and gets his teams playing nice football. I'm still inclined to think Marcelino will be the man coming in. Which im not fully against, I dont think he is the best candidate though.
  19. I would doubt there will be any appeal, think whilst its still stupidly too long, its as good as he will get.
  20. Its not as if the fa were going to switch issues to why keegan left during the hearing. i dont think the ten yards walking to/from his driven car to the front door would create a circus. to be quite honest if it did wouldnt it be a good thing to take some of the heat off barton? a big fine and suspended ban seems fair, not sure exactly how that might work though.
  21. Dissapointing keegan didnt show tbh. thought he was the type of guy that would have stuck by barton even with the crap he has been through.
  22. Its simple we are really just looking to appoint a head coach. Someone that takes care of the team selection, motivating and training the team with the coaches he brings in or we already have. In this current structure, the transfer team would than be free to take care of the transfers, contracts etc.. of course it the head coach would have to be instrumental on which players he wants to let go, where he wants the squad improving. Thats the only way a structure like ours can work IMO. Just a whole lot less than simple to find that man.
  23. Good but who advises the board? What happens when they got Keegans list? They get a list of players recommended by 3 people specifically paid to scout plays and employed specifically because of their talents to do so, its easy to question why Keegan would want completely different targets and none the team want. If Keegan doesnt like any of the players the transfer team are suggesting, it brings into question why are they employed. Thats not to say he doesnt have the right to want different players and certainly shouldnt just pick a couple from the list to pacify the set up. Its a big trust issue that I think was lacking it was a set up that had to be trusted and I think it was never going to work with Keegan being an old school manager. Back to what the board do once the list is compiled, it should be a basic matter of do we have the money to go for the player? are they interested? go out to get it done. There isnt any reason why said scouting/transfer trio should be privy to the final list sent to the board, I think the terrible trio were certainly more trusted by ashley than keegan, which isnt suprising as he knew two of them very well to begin with.
