Jenas would start the most games. Bowyer would have been more useless than Nolan. SAF would have struggled to keep that team up IMO. Now whilst I liked Emre, he just didnt justify his wages, making his annual 16 appearances in between injuries. He was a luxury we could never afford, he was never fit enough for us to see the best of him. Whilst Emre managed to amass a whopping 25 appearances this year, he has hardly set the world alight back in his homeland. Robert has managed to be even worse since leaving. What do you think they would have contributed to Newcastle had they stayed? I'm pretty confident little that's positive on the football pitch.

Think its a canny move by Ferguson IMO. Suprised by the huge negative reaction, he will score more than not with great service, coming off the bench will be useful. If shearer had any interest in him, he would have been training today. There are plenty of unattached players that train with clubs just for fitness, some even without looking for a move. seems a bit extreme to cut him out, we must have really wanted rid.

Due to the ineptitude of our transfer purchases and amount of injuries, there was never the option of loaning him out. he simply wasnt good enough or confident enough to hold down a starting spot, not forgetting geremi actually looked genuinly pacey in comparison.

Suprised by the sturridge chelsea move, granted he is tipped for big things, but like some people have mentioned he will barley get a game there, will be in a worse position than he was at Man City. The upside is, we might be able to get him on loan for our second attempt at getting back the premiership in 2010/11.

He said he wants a year or two in the premiership, and he'll probably get premiership offers, also reckon hes on big wages? Is he still capable in the premiership, I havent seen him the past couple of years. Wouldnt really expect him to be much of an upgrade on the likes of Butt and Nolan. Odds on he would leave us for QPR later in the season.
