  1. Problem with Canada in the Gold cup seemed to be the fact they just passed the ball down to him on the left when they had acres of space down the right. De Rosario would try and hold up the ball or try and do something clever, either way he ended up losing the ball cheaply when better options were available.
  2. i hope not Good enough for a top 6 Newcastle at centre back, not good enough for a Premiership contending Chelsea at right back. I agree. Not many would have rated Vidic after his first half a season at Man U, but look how he came on after adjusting to the league. Not saying Boulahrouz is as good as Vidic, or is going to set the world alight, but I just think he comes in for some unfair criticism... same goes for evra. Same goes for Martins. juries still out on martins Aye, he's in the same boat as the cannibal at the moment.
  3. http://www.itv-football.co.uk/Story/0,14272,6107_2488716,00.html http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/s/sunderland/6288856.stm Mackems slapped down AGAIN! Maybe they will come back for third time lucky, then after the bid is accepted they will just get turned down by the player himself.
  4. Perhaps they have nothing better to do than to compete with Tribal Football in producing the biggest pile of horse shit there is.

  6. Well Edgars got to be good, he plays for Newcastle and scored against Manchester United dont you know! De Rosario looks talented but wasted in the MLS, and a bit lethargic when I have seen him, guilty of believing his own hype a little? Maybe I just havent seen enough of him.
  7. Hammer time for the Zog..or is he Wandering? http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/sport/football.html?in_article_id=467493&in_page_id=1779&ito=newsnow Includes some great Bellamy quotes from the heart..
  8. I can confirm the top stopper is... Zat Knight.
  9. We've been linked with him over the past week or so. Strange we are also after Hangeland apparently aswell. Maybe if they list that we are linked with the whole copenhagen side they will cover all options. Dont know the first thing about Atiba, but he is rated highly in Canada, just missed out on player of the year to De Rosario here.
  10. They reported the rumour, but did they ever claim it was happening based on there own sources? It probably won't happen, but I'd be suprised if the deal wasn't being discussed between NUFC/Barca and Deco at the moment. Is all I could find searching.. Here we go with Figo? Real Madrid midfielder Luis Figo could be a surprise arrival as negotiations with the Portuguese star suggest some cause for optimism. The man who cost Real £37m when he was signed from Barcelona five years ago may come to Tyneside on a similar contract to the one that saw former Barca colleague Patrick Kluivert arrive last summer. Figo is apparently keen on the deal and a year contract with two exercisable one year options may suit both parties. Amid the stuff and nonsense overflowing this weekend, apparently this story has some substance. http://www.soccer24-7.com/forum/showthread.php?t=79532 So it was definitely not the same kind of story as with Deco then. Which is encouraging.. Yeah they are more commital on this story at least. Certainly makes the work days pass faster.
  11. Thought Tord Grip was going to be number two?

  13. Didnt .com jump all over the Figo rumours aswell? I will stick in camp Hunter on this one. Mainly because im a sceptical sod.
  14. Supertoons on the ball with this one. If anything was happening we would fly over there. He wouldnt be in good shape to play in two days if he is flying over here and back again.
  15. Signing for Sunderland then?
  16. Unproven in the premiership. Babel will be deployed on one of the wings rather than a striker Id imagine. Looks like they are holding out for more like 13m for him though, crazy compared to what we were bidding just in January. You would think he had finished top scorer and player of the World Cup, rather than decent in the U21's European Championships.
  17. Re-hash of the Norwegian article no doubt. He seems pretty desperate though. http://home.skysports.com/list.aspx?hlid=476004&CPID=8&clid=4&lid=&title=Hangeland+happy+at+FCK
  18. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/sport/football.html?in_article_id=467279&in_page_id=1779 Manchester Evening News picked the story up aswell, but they arent any more reliable than the Sun to be fair. We should go for Baines AS WELL as Heinze! Baines still has much to learn, and Heinze is as comfortable in the Centre as out wide, although last seasons efforts were dodgy at best.
  19. Heinze is the perfect signing if we can get him. Like Beye would slot in well in Fullback or Centre back. Wouldnt be suprised if we were interested, but would be suprised if we managed to sign him.
  20. not convinced, lets not forget we had signed Figo not so long ago (around this time) but its a nice thought to consider.
  21. Suprised no one is showing the bolton game on the opening day.
  22. some people just arent cut out for International football, simple as.
