Assuming Botman has a really good season you could see him forming a back 3 under LVG with De Ligt and Virgil. He'd have to displace Ake, I assume? -

I want to buy that polo -
People likely forgot that Bruno played in the central role versus Arsenal with Joelinton and Longstaff and comfortably dominated the game and scored a fucking goal!
-
I feel like I’ve never been more shocked by how thick some posters are. Jesus.
-
I’d be more than happy with Fraser and Miggy dueling it out at RW for half a season if Paqueta is signed. Further if they decide to play him Rw, willock plays in the midfield 3.
-
I think Joelinton’s engine and his ability to pick up tactical instructions so quickly will allow him to basically be a box to box destroyer and get 6-8 goals this season. If he’s able to stay fit and he’s got Bruno in there with him he’s going to cause a massive amount of problems for opposition midfields.

Pretty sure the club account wished this as well when we had Ba and Cisse no? And honestly every year.
-
Bang on @Shak - perfectly summed up there. id be really bummed if we didn’t make the necessary sacrifices to make this deal work. He’s allegedly the player we tracked as long as Bruno and the one we approached first in January. Sign him and we will dominate the ball and impose our will on nearly any team in the league bar City and Liverpool. The Bernardo Silva comparison was class too - he’s good and versatile enough to play 5-6 diff positions. Howe loves versatility.
-
It’s like he’s really finally getting back to being a threat up front like he was in MLS with Atlanta. His left foot is deadly, it’s about time he showed it.

A full season without Ashley. Feels so bloody good not agonizing over takeovers and Bruce. -
Looks a goon in that photo

Kit looks lush. -
assume its all quiet because the main negotiator on deals right now is probably Ashworth and not Mehrdad/Amanda/Jamie
-
He naturally drifts into a right side of a 3 / wide right position.
-
Don't need to sell unless he kicks up a fuss and puts in a request and/or we get a proper offer for him.
-
Is this something the NUFC Supporters Trust should be addressing directly with the club?
-
We need end product on RW at the end of the day, someone capable of putting in a shift on both ends of the pitch - the obssesion with athleticism and pace is moot if we're running up blind alleys on both wings.
-
He's played as #10, RCM, RW, CF (False 9-ish) for Lyon. He's easily slotting into the role Willock played when Bruno was at the base.
-
Fuck that, send the plane and get him here. He'd be gliding about the pitch.
-
Chelsea's transfer dealings seems so fucking odd to me.

100% Equally as important as wide forward/winger IMO. And No, i don't think a defensive midfielder that pushes Bruno is the answer unless it's a clone of Rodri and someone who's as much a passer as is a shield for the defensive unit. I think Bruno is best served as the central deep playmaker, Joelinton/Willock as the box to box #8 with Joelinton the better tackler and Willock likely the better ball carrier (used situationally) and the other midfielder needs to be an attacking mid who's creative and able to unlock in the attacking 3rd via carrying the ball, passing, or scoring goals.
-
@Ikon nailed it in that post. We will not be controlling games against the top 7-8 sides if we have a midfield of Bruno/Shelvey/Joelinton or Bruno/Willock/Joelinton. Bruno is the only one of the group who can retain the ball, calmly pass it, find space and keep things ticking. Shelvey is technically brilliant at spraying the long passes, Joelinton is a destroyer and carrier of the ball, and Willock is a carrier and counter attacker. Getting a Paqueta allows us to control matches when he's on the pitch.
-
I'd honestly love to see Willock considered for a wide right role too if we needed him to be a wide forward to press and make runs into the box.
