Then back down to the dressing room no doubt thinking of what he should say to his team to keep the focus up, what could be done to get a better or more comfortable result. There’s nothing wrong with 4-4-2. There’s absolutely a whole ton wrong with the head coach, his decision to play a 4-4-2 with the players at his disposal, and the complete lack of any tactical instructions / adjustments made during this match.

I’m sure he was thrilled seeing a squad he’s put more money into get turned over by Brighton.

Almiron will score, assist and work better for the team in that role you guys envision for Joelinton. I wish it wasn’t so but it’s fact. If we're going to get the best out of Longstaff as a CM he needs to play with Hayden; he probably needs to not be relied on for the aggressive long passes that Shelvey/Schar are used to doing. As a 10 or advanced CM he's a really striker of the ball and would expect him to get goals.
