  1. Posted this in the wrong thread earlier, so reposting here... Honestly, this is a massive 2 week layoff for us and an even bigger one for our manager. We are on an absolutely brilliant run this season and with the lay-off, the momentum has all but been hauled. For AP, its one where he and the staff can reflect and analyze the bright spots and places to improve, as well as ensuring the team continues to stay fit and focused. Also, he has 2 weeks to pick apart the Spurs and get his team selection correct. I think everyone here will agree that this home match vs. the Spurs is an absolute massive one where we can really prove where we are going to be this season. In my opinion, I'd keep the team selection the same minus starting Santon at LB and getting HBA in for Obertan. Personally, I'd start Ryan Taylor over Simmo, but I think Simmo will keep his place. I think Obertan would be a brilliant sub off the bench - but AP has got to realize that the end-product of HBA and his ability on the ball will no doubt be a much greater option for us than Obertan, who, has done extremely well in the past few matches, but needs to be on the bench for this one. I know AP has said he doesn't feel HBA can play on the wings for us, but I'd like to see him do that for this match. Best and Ba are MUST starts for this one, and either could score a brace on their day. 2 weeks away, already chomping at the bit for this one - fixing to be a brilliant fixture and I don't have any doubts that St James' will be rocking that day.
  2. He's thinking...I have Marv, HBA, Santon and Sammy..... F**k it, Peter get out there. then.... F**K it, Danny get out there.
  3. Guthrie and Loven, my word abs. terrible subs Pardew. But its over with, 3 pts and 2 weeks off. Get in.
  4. I'm glad The Journal made it clear it was Tiote he was on about, and not one of our other Cheicks.
  5. People banging on about Marv and HBA, but quite simply - Jonas, Obertan and Ba/Best are playing very well and deserve to start until Marv or HBA displace them from the team, imo. Over here in the states, started my day out with a Toon Victory, going to be a glorious day.

I think if he gets on the bench tomorrow, we'll see him play some part (i hope), with him nearly in line for a start the following weekend. Pardew is simply playing the man-management game here, saying he's got to earn his spot like everyone without taking away from HBA in saying his talent and creativitity is game-changing and can lift our entire club and team up. In other words, lighting a little fire under HBA - not like there isn't already one under the lad b/c he just wants to get back to playing. Not worried at all, he'll be starting soon enough.
  7. Cheers mate. Not available for us outside UK, somebody with download manager and time on their hands ?

I'd love to see him and sammy score against the Mackems at home. I think people's heads would explode.

No he doesn't. That's my biggest problem with him. You really think Shola doesn't give 2 smacks what he does in the shirt? Hes limited by his own size and is clearly playing with too much muscle that his body/bones have not been able to cope with, which is affecting his play (imo). Questioning his effort on the pitch is a bit naive. I'm in no way saying he should be starting or getting a game off the bench, but I think slagging him in this manner is over-the-top. It looks to me that he really doesn't give a damn. I can live with him being s*** in general, because he have been his entire career, but when he - as mind blowing as it is - starts games for Newcastle in 2011, I at least expect him to honor his undeserved time on the pitch by giving his best performance. The last few games have been an absolute joke. Work your ass off and play s***, then fine, but when you are just going to stroll around with your head up your ass looking like you're having the worst time of your life, GTFO! And take Ryan Taylor with you. Right, fair enough - I see your point as well as others - just my humble opinion thats all....

His slagging off is over-the-top here - he's our player, he gives his 100%, and hes slain the mackems enough - yes he shouldn't be starter, and yes we can think of 10 other players in the squad to take his place, but you guys act like this guy is a complete tosser.
  12. shola was stick thin as well when he first broke though, i think sammy will naturally add some bulk to his frame over the next 4 or 5 years. Shola's added weight and muscle has no doubt completley taken away from some of his unpredictablity and talent from when he first came on, no?
  13. Do people actually ever take into account the fact that Romario and Ronaldo had other world-class world cup winning talent around them in Brazil. In the case of Ronaldo he was playing for Barcelona and Inter who had much better talent than Newcastle or England?
  14. Carragher was giving him an earful after that too
  15. Respectfully disagree Ron, and thats just my opinion.
  16. Id love him back. 100% would be for bringing our boy back. Don't ever see it happening though.
  17. Cabaye could have won it for us, brilliant match from him. So many positives to take away - our passing much mroe fluid, our attack looked much better. Bring in Ben Arfa and Marveux into the first team. Personally feel Sammy needs to be brought on earlier every match, his pace and trickery is really something fun and special to watch.
  18. Marveux please, yes Obertan's best match for us - but he is so gash in the final 3rd.
  19. Obertan kills me, so much pace, talent and strength and bloody no idea how to use it.
