if we offer Oba the right deal, I think he will sign on. He loves it here, you can tell, he cares about the club, you can see it on the field, and with Owen most likely on the out, he has to see himself as the main striker of the club. We give him a good deal and explain to him the supposed "5 year plan" that Llambas was refering to and hopefully that will tie it up. Oba is an honest lad too from everything we've heard, I think he cares more about this club than people think.

If this is true, than I wish all the best for Joe and his family. Have to feel for someone and their family having to go through that. And again if this is true - the man needs to leave management, better his health and spend time with his family. There is not one good reason for him to be working in football with this sort of health. On the Newcastle side, if this is true - he has to go, Ashley/Llambas need to quickly appoint a caretaker in the form of Hughton/Calderwood or Wise.

While im happy there is another club challenging, I can't help but me completely jelous of their success. That being said, we beat that lot at St. James' and Oba was sublime, so as of right now. I am okay with Villa!

I agree. Something about that interview really showed to me that he just wants to get on with it, play football and work himself up to the first team. His goals showed excellent technique, he looked fairly quick as well.

Just watched his post-match interview from the reserve match... Think its plain to see that he has no problem playing at the reserve level or coming on for a few minutes - hes used to that in Spain from playing at lower levels and not complaining. I recall an interview where he said the same, he just wants to play, and will do waht it takes to play. Liked what I saw from the highlights of the reserve match, he seems to be gianing more confidence and that was evident with the way he was moving the ball around with his feet, versus how hesitant he was when watching him play earlier in teh season. His goals were taken superbly, I hope he gets a chance to play for the first team soon. Cracking attitude from the interview, if you ask me.

Feel for Xisco. He's got to be confused to no end. Surely he is better than Shola? I've seen Shola hoof so many chances this year that I could have bagged.
