Personally, I've still not got any faith in Howe since he wasted our money on him in January.
-
Given his application and willingness to be a cog in the squad, I can see him being around for a long time to come.
-
The ref wasn't all that bad yesterday was he? Was thinking 'here we go' with Burn and Antony in the first 15 mins but I thought there was plenty of their bullshit that he didn't fall for.

This is it. He played some great balls during the world cup that were straight out of our playbook, but no-one read them so they went nowhere and made him look daft unfairly. He got accused of giving the ball away at the time... So I realised there was no chance of him being appreciated.

Nothing wrong with standards I think the thing that stands out to me is some of those who don't contribute well to the atmosphere seem to actually want to. They just don't know how. Honestly, it feels like the confusion in them is palpable sometimes. So like you say, some relatively minor changes like seat positions to get the right people together could help things along a lot.

He's just imagining a past that never was. Ignore him

Not following it closely, but yeah, it smells bad.

He has looked shockingly poor post world cup to be fair. The hope was he could pull it around, and yesterday has gone some way towards that, but because the drop off was so severe it was fair to worry something very bad had gone wrong. But he definitely looked more himself yesterday, and apparently they've done some good work with him over the international break, so hopefully it will go down in history as a long hiccup.

Starts around the 11 second mark. Dummett questioning his happiness and he gives a Brent-esque assurance that he is. In case you can't listen: "I am happy! Come on man. Why would I not be? Come on! Haha!"

I really think it's the opposite with him. By all accounts he's a bright guy and his problems seem to usually come from him overthinking situations. There really is such a thing as being too clever for your own good. Looks like him and Eddie are in the process of cracking it though, which is great.

He wasn't playing for a professional football club.

He has excellent fundamentals and is getting better. His return from injury has coincided with us winning games again, and that's not by chance. Scoring as many goals as his xG would take him and our team to another level. He is 23, a lovely lad, and has much more to come. I don't know what is complicated about this.

7 points is a fair aim. Villa being the awkward one.

Looking at it superficially, I think we neglected an opportunity to keep a good thing going there. After Anderson, the fans and club would be right behind anyone we send down.
-
Interestingly, his most recent interviews are the first time he's publicly admitted to looking ahead and assessing the next clutch of games, rather than rigidly sticking to the one game at a time mantra. That I'm aware of. He looks confident about it, too.

Agreed, I remember going into that season feeling pretty good. And then it all fell apart in the most spectacular fashion. What a small time bastard Ashley was.
-
What Keegan was achieving was unbelievable at the time.
-
Possibly, but Spurs have pretty much moved into "it's not him, it's them" territory now, so maybe it's a free hit for him?

*Sounds great But I take your point.

I assume he meant the kids in South America we've been tracking? But while I would say we aren't leaky, it's not as impossible to work out who we're signing as is sometimes made out nowadays. Isak was a bit of a surprise, but it was known we liked him and his 'type' of player. The surprise was generated by Ekitike's rejection and Wilson's injury - so the club stepped up the price they were willing to pay for him. Signings - Interests Ashby - known Gordon - known Kuol - surprise Isak - known Botman - known Pope - surprise Targett (permanent) - known Targett (loan) - surprise Burn - surprise Guimaraes - surprise Wood - surprise Trippier - known I'd call that a reasonable blend for a well-run club.

Sometimes I wonder what it would be like if the club just stopped selling season tickets. Advance purchase per match only. One way of getting over the seat arguments. Revenue neutral/positive given the sell outs we can expect. Sitting with your mates. A whole new generation able to get in and make their mark within half a mile of pitchside. Sounds great.

I don't know but it could also be factoring in things like the capacity of walkways to manage crowd flow. It'll be an interpretation of health and safety, rightly or wrongly. And the interpretation might change, rightly or wrongly. To give due respect to it, a potential alternative is more things like Hillsborough from the other week.

I imagine the club will like the prospect of - once health and safety is content - raising crowd density. More income for less stadium footprint should be a good motivator for them.
