  1. I honestly didn’t recognise him Looks more like Louis Storey at South Shields (ex NUFC) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Can somebody change that picture of Mitro please? Turns me stomach every time a see that safc badge. [emoji15][emoji31][emoji23]
  3. Going back to the 70’s Malcolm Macdonald v Leicester. A diagonal ball from Irving Nattrass through the centre circle which Mac ran onto and struck first time from about 30 yards out. In goal for Leicester that day was a young Mark Wallington who went on to be first choice keeper for the next 10 years. Macdonald said in the paper next day that the keeper showed his experience by even attempting to get to it. [emoji23]

Hi All, Just a quick question for a friend. Anyone know if the burgundy away strip can be bought without the sponsor on front? Cheers, Terry

  8. Me too. Haven't been to a Premiership game for over 2 years now, and not missing it one bit. All the matches I go to these days are Northern League, where a bit of genuine craic and banter goes on.
  9. Update on the situation: Press release from Jimmy Anderson at Newcastle Blue Star: Tuesday, 23 June 2009 Following on from a meeting in Soho square London where Bob Morton met up with representatives from the Football Association, the FSIF (grants) and a member from the financial regulations department of the FA, Bob submitted mitigation as to why the club should be shown compassion with regards to the claims for full repayment of £61,000 which the club received towards development of the Wheatsheaf Sports Ground, Bob Morton pleaded with the members to forego their claim of the full amount of this money and allow the club to continue with their progression and keep the club in existence, however it was to be fruitless as the FSIF were demanding full payment prior to the 2009-10 season commencing.. Club Secretary Jim Anderson states that although all parties confirm and endorse that the grants which were awarded and have been correctly utilised over the period 1999-2004 in which they had been claimed, it is the fact the senior club no longer play their games at the Wheatsheaf ground that has instigated this claim even though their relocation to Kingston Park was urged and commissioned by the same authorities. Taking this into account, Newcastle Blue Star would like to confirm that they are officially withdrawing from all competitive football, having announced at the end of the 2008-09 season their concerns over their future, both Bob Morton and Jim Anderson have worked vigorously in an attempt to prevent the closure of such a great club attempting to attract investors in what is an unstable economic climate. Finally Jim Anderson would like to thank all of the support received from all since the club was founded back in 1930, there have been many folk associated with this club and I am sure they will have fond memories that they will cherish.
  10. Could it have been Rob Lee? Talking live on SSN now and says he was at the game for the first 60 odd minutes.
  11. Am still confident they'll go doon while the still have Hreiddarsson going for his hat-trick of relegations with different clubs. Edit: Ooops he's already been relegated four times.

  15. He wasn't terrible at all. He was probably the only defender we had at the time who was interested in being an actual defender. Used to irritate me intensely to see Peacock criticized because Howey went walkabout. Never the makem blamed. Baffling. This is spot on. Lost count of the number of times Peacock was left trying to mark two men cos Howey was on the wander.
  16. Yup, I'd go along with that. Shame there were no tv cameras there that day. Only the people who were there can know how good it actually was.
  17. Possibly although he hardly played for us. Hardly played for for us as was always in the reserves, playing teams like Sheels. Didn't Bob Stokoe take him to the mackems? Yeah Mick.

  19. Cheers lads, Ray Ellison's the one. Be able to sleep the neet now.
  20. An old picture from around 1971 from a pre-season friendly between South Shields and Newcastle United Reserves. I can name the goalie as John Hope, with John Craggs at the near post and a young irving Nattrass to the far right. Does anyone know who was the Newcastle player on the line at the back post? Face looks farmiliar but bugging the hell out of me for a name. Cheers. http://i196.photobucket.com/albums/aa177/ennyoueffsea/SheelsvNewcastleUnitedReserves1.jpg
  21. Aye, I was there that day. The keeper was a young Mark Wallington, who went on to play for them for years. Supermac's comments in the paper the next day "The keeper showed his inexperience by even attempting to go for that"
  22. I always thought that was named after Tommy Craig. The sketch looks like Craig. Sellars had the sweeter left foot though.
