  1. Listing Premiership sides only.......apart from England of course.

  3. He wasn't terrible at all. He was probably the only defender we had at the time who was interested in being an actual defender. Used to irritate me intensely to see Peacock criticized because Howey went walkabout. Never the makem blamed. Baffling. This is spot on. Lost count of the number of times Peacock was left trying to mark two men cos Howey was on the wander.
  4. Yup, I'd go along with that. Shame there were no tv cameras there that day. Only the people who were there can know how good it actually was.
  5. Possibly although he hardly played for us. Hardly played for for us as was always in the reserves, playing teams like Sheels. Didn't Bob Stokoe take him to the mackems? Yeah Mick.

  7. Cheers lads, Ray Ellison's the one. Be able to sleep the neet now.
  8. An old picture from around 1971 from a pre-season friendly between South Shields and Newcastle United Reserves. I can name the goalie as John Hope, with John Craggs at the near post and a young irving Nattrass to the far right. Does anyone know who was the Newcastle player on the line at the back post? Face looks farmiliar but bugging the hell out of me for a name. Cheers. http://i196.photobucket.com/albums/aa177/ennyoueffsea/SheelsvNewcastleUnitedReserves1.jpg
  9. Aye, I was there that day. The keeper was a young Mark Wallington, who went on to play for them for years. Supermac's comments in the paper the next day "The keeper showed his inexperience by even attempting to go for that"
  10. I always thought that was named after Tommy Craig. The sketch looks like Craig. Sellars had the sweeter left foot though.

  12. Didnt mean it in an offensive way and i was one of the ones who adamantly defended the Keegan appointment on the spurs board (i also praised the appointment on here too). I agree that the spurs team is a bit of a soft touch and have said that too but get over yourself ffs. Keegan seems a nice guy and not really a diciplinarian so that where i base my judgement on, now go grab a tissue and let the tears flow he is when needed (i remember him being tough with lee clarke, andy cole and barry venison) but he has a way with people that means he doesn't often need it. Don't forget when he pulled Beresford off after about twenty minutes for talking back to him. clean forgot about that till you brought it up.i still remember the look of shock on beresfords face. (cue a few jokes about pulling beresford off ) I want to say it was against Villa, is that right? Here yer gann Wullie http://www.nufc.com/html/bezdiary21.html
  13. Breaking News on News 24. No further action to be taken by the F.A.
  14. Caldwell and Bellamy will back this up Eggsactly.
  15. If there's one thing you can take for granted every season the smogs come here. Schwarzer always produces one clanger from a high cross. That was it when the Owen goal was disallowed. Over the years we've benefitted from their knacker of a keeper. Dean got it horribly wrong.
  16. If by legend you mean smarmy t*** who deserves a kicking then I agree. Seconded.
  17. Reduced to one match now. Football rulers obviously don't want to cut out cheating. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/europe/7049010.stm
