wolves / Bolton / Wigan /West Ham / West bromich Albion. Come on we can do these teams surely? I left the top eight out as they are much better than these sides...
-
Let's look at the teams we will have to beat next year to stay up and to stay in the top half: Birmingham/Stoke/Blackburn/Fulham/Sunderland/

I would be seriousy thinking about bringing the lad on this season. surely he is of age now to start competing with Harps, who is probably on his way down....

I think we can push for midtable. The 20 million (?) chris will be given is enough for a right back, a dominant dentre midfielder and a striker. With these signings and the usual youngsters/loanees we should have a squad that will keep us up. I reckon that if the attitude is the same next season we should win those hull/stoke/sunland games which are bread and butter to any team looking for survival. YES, but depending on funds given. 100% confidence in Hughton also, have to admit I had my doubts earlier in the season due to his love fest for Smith/butt but now he seems to have got a grip completely..Well done mate!

I think we need a pacy inventive striker rather than a warhorse like cole. Need somebody beardsleyesque or ashavinesque to complement either shola or carrol up front an to add an extra man in midfield. Need a midfield destroyer who imposes himself on the game beside either Barton or Guthrie. New Right back and cover for left back. Could be: Harper Perch (simpson)--- Taylor (Kadar)----Colo (williamson)---Enrique (NEW) Routledge (Raylor)---Barton (Guthrie)---NEW (Nolan)----Jonas (Loven) --------------------------Carrol (Shola)------Rodallega (Ranger)

Is Mike Ashley steering Newcastle United in the right direction?
buzza replied to LooneyToonArmy's topic in Football
I also think that a grand majority of the fans would find it easier to forgive Ashley if he got rid of his sneaky mouthpiece who has no grasp of public relations and has a huge chip on his shoulder towards our loyal support. If he puts in a half decent transfer chest and continues with his long terms plans including the soucing of youngsters and cheap players from first division we may be on to a winner with him. I am willing to give him another chance...Just hope he doesn't throw it back in my face??? -
I would also agree with a net spend of around 15 million. I think our major problem if we want to sign any "good" players will be the newly enforced wage cap. this could put us out of reach of quite a few players. Need a striker who will guarantee 15 prem league goals. Need a centre midfielder who will also chip in. A creative midfielder come striker in the arshavin mould as we don't have anything like this at the moment....

Playing quite well, just lack some definition up front. Back four look very calm and collected

Is Mike Ashley steering Newcastle United in the right direction?
buzza replied to LooneyToonArmy's topic in Football
Irrelevant of whether he is doing this to get better resale value or to repay his earlier mismanangement, the truth is that we seem to be going in the right direction both on the pitch and management wise... I can't complain too much at the moment. We will all know the answer in the summer when he invests or doesn't.... -
LOL.. Has a point though... Fat Lady preparing herself!
-
Needs to be loaned out. Looks good on the pitch but lacks goals...
-
I think we will scrape through at 17th or 16th, anything else would be unbeleivable. We need a decent right back as Simpson and Raylor are gash. We need to get rid of Butt, Smith, pancrate, Shola. We need a class striker and a centre midfielder with "presence". Couple of youngsters and loanees and we're away

He really is doing far better than anyone expected. We all critisized FCB for making him manager last year and it looks to be another of his majestic decisions which turn out for the good.... I am delighted with Chris H., can't have done any better TBH, has eventually realised that Nicky and Alan are Shi*e and this bodes well...

Weren't chelsea interested at some point due to the homegrown contingent coming into the rules in a year or so....
-
Taylor seems to be a bit of an arrse doesn't he... Still, can't condone the mong for lashing out...
-
should be forgotten about after this weekend. Just thinking about whether it could have any influence on his upcoming trial. The poster above about wages and ex girlfiend is spot on what the argument was over, just can't take the mick out of some A holes, no brains = no response = Violence...

Carrol hardly comes across as a nice bloke, seems to get in all sorts of trouble outside the club... We do not need another Bowyer here so that the press can harangue us even more than normal. I'm sure Hughton will make the correct decision, the guy seems to be quite sensible, maybe we are blowing things out of proportion...these things do happen...

Overheard at St. James' Park (and in pubs pre/post match etc)

For making a c*nt of oneself: I was at the Reading game on a rare day out with mates from Berwick (i live abroad), we all had tickets but in different parts of stadium. I was growing a beard then, quite big and was tanked up so no-one said anything when I blurted out my stupidness- When Pancrate was brought on I honestly thought it was Geremi, I couldn't see straight but was screamin for him "go on geremi lad...". Then "Geremi" pulled a top class goal out of the drawer and I went beserk...nobody said a word... Got out of the game with my mates and told em' about how amazin' Geremi was...what a transformation...totally humilliated and the joke for the night...Never mind Happens to us all (I hope!) -
What I am trying to say is that we have walked the league so far with a lot of luck as far as I am concerned, we have had many a game when we should have been beaten or at least drawn as we only played for spells. Our recent run of form excepted... We are all probably expecting (my deluded self included) that we will be playing around lower mid table but relatively safe from relegation spots, I can't see it: -Coloccini is playing well in the championship... -Taylor is prone to errors, simpson is not the answer nor raylor -Enrique is prem material. -Smith, Butt, Nolan, Guthrie, Pancrate are all championship standard -Jonas is King...Long live the King! -Caroll, Lovenkrands, Shola, Best....Any of em' guarantee 15 goals? even 10? As it says...Reality Check. P.S. Sorry if it's a bit obvious and we're all on a high after beating Barnsley 6-1

How's it going for the players who left Newcastle?
buzza replied to LoveItIfWeBeatU's topic in Football
Zoggy was pretty usefull against Liverpool last night, gave both full backs a bit of a pasting. Great centre midfielder wigan have (Moroccan bloke). -
Simon Bird mentioned Shearer's comment in the Mirror and he has a very valid point; "Wolves scored for fun in the championship last season (80) and have only managed 20 from 28 games this season". We have to be realistic, we have only come up against good opposition twice this season (Forest & WBA) and they both gave us a good lesson in how to play passing football. I have only been to 4 games at st james this season and have seen a few on live streaming but the one thing that sticks is the crap level of football played in the championship, carefull with what we pray for next season, mid table mediocrity would be fine for me.... We certainly won't be able to play well for 15 minutes and win a game on the back of that when we go up. First priority is a top striker and some central midfielders.
-
Similarities are there to see between the two of them: Physical prescence Strong header Likes roughing opponents up Jailbait...
-
just watched it on u tube... THE BOY IS PURE CLASS!!! JUST WISH I COULD HAVE BEEN THERE...CRACKIN' MOMENT!!!
-
I agree with the majority; striker is number one priority, what we have at the mot isn't good enough for the prem. Number two are two central midfielders; one defensive with height (a la viera) and another with something creative. We also need cover desperately at left back and if possible a prem class right back as we dont have this. I would sell: Smith, Butt, Shola, Raylor and pancake...

On a slight tangent but I thought I'd mention it: My first job after Uni was in a major credit ranking company who also collected debts for credit card sales. We were told unofficially to double check any Nigerian applications and pass them on to the harder debt collection dept. without any fuss... Who says institutional racism doesn't exist!! When I moved up the ladder at that company one of the major reasons for double checking was the quantity of fake passports or the lack of real data on the real ones, bit like article above... Might go to Nigeria for Hols and lose a few years, come back a new fella
