  1. Butt has been very ordinary Jonas is god! Martins is all alone... Taylor has exquisite timing, otherwise we'd still be leading. Defence is doing well TBF Coloccini has looked shaky and has looked great... Guthrie is keeping the tempo and recovering balls well. man yoo are the champions of europe and although it galls me... they look very accomplished.
  2. COME ON!! ON TELLY ASWELL !!! WWOOOOOOOHOOOOOO!!! LET'S DO THAT DIRTY RED NOSED, TAGGART PIECE OF SHIIITE!!! ANYONE GOT A HELICOPTER? LOVE TO EXCREMENT ON THAT WHISKY SPONGE FROM A GREAT HEIGHT!!!!!!!! AAAAAARRRRGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! Good thread this...
  3. I think we'll get a 1-1 draw and play relatively defensively: ---------------Harper-------------- Beye----Taylor---Colo----Enrique Guti-----Butt-----Guthrie---Duff -----------Smith----Oba------ Change any forward for Milner if injured /whatever...
  4. CHAMPIONSHIP GOALSCORER THOUGH!! ONLY A COUPLE WITH BOLTON
  5. They are spot on about Caulkin and Walker... decent non-biased journalists!
  6. Big Geordie, I think as well as your comments there is a large dislike of Ashley in the financial circles in our country who also have a lot of clout and who "own" newspapers, anything to have a pop at him seems fair game to them... Like you say we won't see change until we're winning, but we WILL beat them and even if we don't we will still have our dignity and pride, which is a lot more than they can boast! (...am I Churchill in disguise?)
  7. Man yoo have a lot of players out but they also have a lot of experienced players to come in and sub the others, they know each other very well and have been playing 4-3-3 for two years now with great success, a draw would be a great result and to score a goal against that defence would be a worthy achievement! First game and anything could happen but I am not getting my hopes up... 1-1 Hope to see: --------------Harper-------------- Beye--Taylor-- Coloccini--Enrique Jonas---Guthrie---Butt---Duff --------Martins---Owen-----
  8. I quite like the way we are doing things at the moment, not giving anything until deals are done and dusted and when asked about possibilities giving nothing away so that anything the press do write is pure speculation. It leaves no scope for punishment if we are "gazumped" or whatever (transfers/buyouts) as this would leave us wide open for a press onslaught, which sadly is what the majority of the national papers thrive on. I think we have been treated very badly by the majority of the press and therefore should treat them with caution. This will only change when we start winning games, playing entertaining football and public favour turns towards us through our playing style and when we also don't have "priks" dragging our image through the mud with their bad behaviour (choose from: Dyer, bellamy, Barton..etc). When we are in the top six we can evade tabloid topics and just wax lyrical about football, the press will only be able to write positively about us or will be found out... Can't wait! I vote for the current method and I am quite enjoying Ashley's approach although I would like a few more quality signings (which could be lined up or couldn't? the intrigue is too much!!).
  9. Back on thread, I still would prefer to be in the news with their speculation and gossip than be one of the teams that never gets mentioned... Roy does your lot still exist? I quite like the thought that everyone is talking about us and is interested in the next episode of the Newcastle saga, funk the lot of 'em and enjoy our "champions league" positioning on the back pages. Do we ever hear about Villa, Everton, SUNDERLAND? NO, they are not interesting to anyone apart from their own following!! I love it! I like ashley's style aswell... Are the press so funking thick that they can't interpret the owner having a shirt with colos name on it a a signal that "it's done but we're just waiting on the pàperwork"? Would Ashley do that if it wasn't 99.9% certain? Give the man credit... he's bypassed the press totally and sent us out a message in the way he see fit! Cool as a cucumber if you ask me. The fat boy has sung..bring it on!!
  10. I thought all you "directors" could edit and do all that tricky stuff...Come on!!
  11. P.S. We will shortly be known again (and loved) for our attacking football and utopian footballing outlook...Keegan is our King!!
  12. Just to give it a positive spin; We are big news and as the old adage goes: "any news is good news", we are kept in the public eye permanently because WE sell newspapers. WE keep those slimy turds in a job (social conscience), get on your knees and thank us for keeping you in a job Louise because if it wasn't for us you'd have nothing to write about (nobody is interested in Sunderland!). I don't think any "real" fan holds any malice towards us, we're nothing like Leeds (hatred) and we were and I think still are a lot of people's second "interest" in footballing terms, this can only be a good thing, raises our profile and anyone with half a brain must be able to see through the 90% bullshitt written about us.
  13. buzza

    The squad

Forward line minus smith that is!!!
  14. buzza

    The squad

Our goalie ranks must be up there with the top 3!! Our defence is top 6 Our midfield is mid table mediocrity Our forward line is top 6
  15. If Barton could come back and regain some of that elusive form from his man city days, we could pair him with guthrie and we'd have quite a "dynamic" midfield that should score goals and should also be able to regain possession of the ball when we don't have it... Personally I'd like to see us buy a big dominant midfielder so that we can "boss" games more easily, I think we have been to lightweight here for a while. Somebody in the Viera/Keane/Essien type of mould...
  16. Beware!!! Fergie is up to his usual bshit with saying players are injured, Rooney was fine yesterday at his photo shoot, didn't look very ill to me. Man yoo will also be playing with many of the players that "always" play, i.e. no bedding in etc..etc. Let's not get carried away. I would go for the following: ------------Harper--------------- Beye---Taylor---Coloccini---Enrique Duff-----Butt----Guthrie---Gutierrez ---------Owen------Martins----- Bench: Shay, Faye, Milner, Zog, Geremi,
  17. Three piece underwear to hold three "bits" in place...I like it:)
  18. I think we should be more optimistic aswell! -The club seems to be well run at the moment and we have no fears of going down the "Leeds" road. -Got rid of the shite: Ramage, Carr, Pattison, Rozenthal (smith...pleeeaaase!) -Got in some decent players: Jonas, Coloccini??, Guthrie, Bassong -Transfer window still has 23 days left in it -Keegan will make a purse out a pigs ear -Duff seems to have remembered he is a pro footballer Two or three class signings and we'll be ok... (Left back, Creative midfield, young striker)
  19. buzza

    Keegan on transfers

Agree aswell; Defence seems to be sorted when coloccini comes in, need more cover for full backs but the centre seems decent with Coloccini, bassong, Faye, Taylor. The attack is also decent when fit (note:when A. smith doesn't play). The wings also seem covered with the resurgence of duff, our new argie flyer with milner and zogg as back up. Middle of the field: Geremi, Butt, Guthrie, Barton They are all quite average, if Butt regains some decent form then he is very acceptable, the other three aren't the standard we need there for a 4-4-2...
  20. The depor president Lendoiro (who's in Caracas) confirms that the deal isn't signed yet but is dependant on coloccini's medical in Newcastle on monday... "There is a verbal agreement in place and it only needs to be endorsed by him passing his medical in newcastle on Monday" say's fat spanish gypo!
  21. In order of priority: Jonas was ace! Fast, creative and good link up play. We have finally found the "Blackburn" Duff at long last!! Jose Enrique shat on Nzogbia from a height when we are talking lessons in full back play... Harps and Krul: Spot on both of you! Thank funk we have signed Coloccini, 'cos Taylor and Cacapa were all over the place (credit to their attackers!). Guthrie was impressive, wanted him to move further up the field as I thought he was being over defensive, time will tell. Nicky butt you are awful, please find your form again, don't regress to your man yoo final form!!! Milner, learn to cross, the rest of your game was perfect but the first priority for a winger is to supply crosses... Shole and Smith ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha aaaaaaaaaaaggggghhhhhh!!
