martins; quite acrobatic isn't he...

"Lack of football" claims it's first mental collapse victim!!!!!!!!!

We should be aiming for 4th place and should realistically end up in sixth place. Chelsea and Man U are deffo top 4, Liverpool aswell, which leaves: Arsenal, Spurs, Everton, west ham and Newcastle battling it out for the other places. The key to this season are the first 6-7 games, if we do well in them (we should do really!) that will give us a base to build from (and confidence) that we haven't had for a few seasons now... Our injured players should be fit again for around Sept-October so that means a full strength squad and a very potent team (if the new defensive recruits work out).

Don't worry, only a day to go...
-
is the bolton defence slow? If so I would also go with martins rather than smith, keep em' pegged back a bit...
-
one of the front two will be a bit knackered I suppose...freshness in the attack seems to be the most common substitution in football...ain't rocket science!
-
yep, that's his wages they are talking about 1.8 million pounds a year (30 grand a week).

I am wondering who Sam will put up front with Viduka? Smith or Martins... For the Bolton game I would deffo go for Smith as he will be a bit more combative and works harder defensively. Bring on martins for Viduka after 65 mins. ------------Harper------------- Carr----Taylor---Roz----Zog Solano--Geremi--Butt--Milner -----Smith---Viduka----

Well covered up front, another left and right back would make me happy...

LEVANTE NEEDS NEW FORWARDS. LUQUE COULD LEAVE IN THE NEXT FEW HOURS. HIS FATHER HAS TALKED WITH THE CLUB. HE DOESN'T FEEL AT HOME IN THE CLUB AND WANTS TO RETURN TO SPAIN. ANOTHER MEETING TODAY WIOTH HIS AGENT. LUQUE HAS TO REDUCE HIS WAGES FROM 2,7 MILLION TO 1.5 EUROS. PROBLEM WITH LUQUE IS THAT HE ISN'T AN OUT AND OUT GOALSCORER, STATS ABOUT HOW USELESS HE IS....

Just read in the spanish sports daily "AS" that Luque's dad has arranged a loan deal to Spanish Club Levante for our battle hardened left winger. It all seems to depend on whether Luque lowers his wages to adapt to the other club, seemingly our leaders have sanctioned this (if I remember correctly!). Just as I thought he was going to turn it all on it's head...never mind!

It is essential that we get off to a good start at Bolton: Draw or win will do it, lose and it's back to the drawing board!!!!!!!!

Teams do seem a bit stronger this year ...but that counts for all the teams so I suggest there will not be such a great difference between 4th and 8th place. If we are lucky with injuries (ha ha ha) I reckon we could scrape sixth place. We should be able to score a lot more goals this year and our defence and midfield looks a lot sturdier aswell, just a shame barton isn't starting the season at Bolton. Not too bothered that owen isn't playing because in Smith and Oba we have two decent covering strikers. Sam will play this formation on saturday (remember he did say he would make us hard to beat away from home!): ------------Harper(Given if fit)------------ Carr----Taylor---Roz----Zoggy Solano--Geremi--Butt---Milner ---------Smith------------ -----------------Viduka----------
-
we already have six strikers! what's the point in talking about another one, especially when he's a renowned troublemaker...
-
would rather have zoggy at left back over ramage any day of the week. He would help us out in an attacking sense aswell putting more pressure on them.
-
He's just covering his arse with these last quotes in case the deal doesn't go through and he ends up in front of the Seville fans again next season... COME ON SAM...get the last piece in place!!!
-
That's what it seemed like to me aswell. We could compare it to if Zoggy left us after his "good" year, a lad with a lot of talent and huge potential... We'd be quite pissed off too. Does anybody know if he has actually signed yet or are we just seeing re-hashed quotes (see skysports) from a couple of days ago???
-
Ohmelads, saw you on the Villareal website, looks like they are a bit upset... more at the price more than anything as they say he's a "good" left back with huge potential given his age. P.S. How come your Spanish is so good?
-
If he's not going to use Enrique I would go for: ------------Given------------- Carr---Taylor---Roz----Zoggy Solano---Geremi---Butt---Milner -----Smith-----Viduka---- Bring on Martins and Luque in 2nd half for Viduka and Solano and wipe the floor with the west coast wannkers...
-
I doubt Ashley would step in and over-rule the chairman of the club in that manner... It really has to be down to something we do not know about and the reason Sam is sticking up for Dyer is so that the weasel can play for us again without getting his house blown up by some radgie who's a bit peturbed over his loyalty (ahem.) bonus desires!!!
-
Don't ask that lot over for the local pub quiz, clean up no bother wouldn't they!! Does pollution really reduce human sized brains to ant-like proportions?
-
copying me wullie?
-
Solano Owen Viduka

It seems like we now have a "professional" set up at St James Park and all of this talk about "re-evaluation" of Dyer's price is Bullshiite if you ask me, Sam comments are a smokescreen for one of two things: -Loyalty bonus of 2 million (Dyer realisticaslly asked for a transfer by crying to Sam about moving south) -Newcastle have been tricked by West Ham (Tapped up dyer)
