  1. Sorry but some of the above posts are just preconceived views from weeks back, both last week and this week he has looked sharp for the first hour. His game is not holding the ball up but he was always in space, was making the right runs (didn't get the pass) and he pressed hard for the hour. i really don't know how much more you could have asked from him. He looked dangerous to me. I am the first to slate him when he looks disinterested, but that was not the case. Put your f**kin specs on to watch the game!
  2. Watched game today and paid attention to cisse, he played very well tbh, just didn't get the service...
  3. If you could add aerial prowess and imposing physique imagine what would happen to our midfield... oh well!
  4. Nailed it for me that article! exactly as he says, he does the unglamourous work, gives the ball to better players who will create things, the better the team around him the better he will look. Astonished to see he has 86% pass rate.
  5. I can't see anyone bar an out of work desperate manager coming to us in January. Moyes would perhaps be the only experienced manager who could perhaps merit even being the replacement for McClaren. My main gripe with McClaren and his backroom is the fact they can't seem to motivate the players, wouldn't mind the dross so much or the relegation possibility if the players were giving 100%, if it was down to "they are a set of average plodders" then I wouldn't mind, but you look at the team sheet and the potential of them merits a mid table position.
  6. Yes, he goes missing for long periods in a game but somebody please tell me the midfielder with whom we are going to replace him? Gouffran? Alienheed? Tbh, if we had someone who could replace him then yes, I would also be for selling him for 10M (?) and getting a replacement. On his day, which is one in four, he is excellent. As everyone else is saying, I think there are gaping holes that need filled in central midfield, central defense before anything else happens.
  7. Shelvey would be a perfect fix for our midfield, tenacious player who has bags of vision and a great pass, add to that his height and aerial prowess the fact that we only have midgets in midfield he would walk it... PROBLEM: We forget that english players know exactly what our club is; a complete chaos! This is dreamland, unless there is a fallout or something going on with him at Swansea... NO CHANCE!
  8. Like this line up. thauvin on and wiji in the middle is a huge step up from Anita/colback. If we bought a decent defensive midfielder in Jan this could be an excellent side...
  9. I'd normally say Dummet was an upgrade on haidara but he was awful on saturday. Everything he did was nullified or opened us up to attacks. I would get Mbabu in for the next one, we will need some pace, also worried about colo...
  10. Mind you, saying that he was too lenient on them card wise!
  11. Sorry, but I deffo think it was a pen, when it happened I was screaming at colo for being a slow useless cun#! Maybe it's my eagle like vision??
  12. No, some frazzly haired bloke who looked like he was on temazepam was our worst player...
  13. The reasons for losing the game are quite straight forward: We didn't put the ball in the back of the net in the first half despite 70% possession and a few chances. Coloccini is slow and that was a penalty, he was too far from the ball to claim "covering" and from my point of view he charged him from just behind. He is not up to it and looks 10 yards slower than he ever has been. Summing up; we have lost a lot of these games solely due to the ridiculous decision (football board= hahah) not to cover a position where we desperately needed a commanding centre half.
  14. He does have a positive side to his game: distribution and kicking, it was light years ahead of Tim Can we not try and make a "dolly" from their genes? Then impregnate Hope Solo and we would have the perfect goalie!!
  15. that macity team looks pretty formidable up front!
  16. Please be injured, him and silva are the big influencers (& aguero of course)... This will help us immensely
  17. Was it the one encased within your thumb? Or your proper heed?? Since we're all on a pedantry trip...
  18. If silva and toure are both still out then we have a decent chance to get something here...
  19. I miss him so much! A luxury player as they are called, but god... what a luxury to be carrying around!

    Steve McClaren

Only negative for mclaren was that he brought his subs on too late, we needed freshening after 60 but he obviously didn't see that until we were well under the cosh. We just need that pressure on them when they brought the bak out, it was too easy for their defense to stroll into our half and pick their passes as Mitro and Ayoze were walking by then...

    Steve McClaren

We were playing a narrow 4411 system all game with overlapping fullbacks and one of jack or anita sitting when the fullbacks went forward. Ayoze had complete freedom of the pitch whilst attacking but dropped and defended really quickly when we lost the ball which leads people to think it was 4231. Much more effective in this formation, the main contributing factor is that we had a number nine who could hold the bal up and play it to our oncoming players, mitro was immense in his battle against two defenders everytime he got the ball, he didn't lose many either.

    Kevin Mbabu

Very impressed by him, he actually defends really well aswell. Would be nice if he was consistent, hopes are high but a bad game could knock him...
  23. Ayoze in the first half made a lot of tackles and interceptions but in the last 30 he was nowhere to be seen, a substitution and ovation was begged for tbh...
