Should have been an exceptionally fun watch with generous helpings of backpay payback. But entitled prick that I am, I found that quite frustrating. There was a gulf in quality and we had an early two goal lead. Yet why we continued to do most of the running thereafter, especially in a period where fixtures are coming thick and fast, was baffling. It was an immature performance from 2-0. Man Utd were awful but had three really, really presentable chances. The constant high press is crazy IMO. Especially if Howe is allergic to substitutions as he seemed to be until the 82nd minute. Yes, I'm this moany after a 2-0 win away to Man Utd. A fourth clean sheet and win in a row. Spare a thought for my family. That should have been way more demoralising for Man Utd. Anyway, thought Gordon was man of the match by a distance. Isak looked very leggy, but he's Isak so he still scored and frightened the pants off them.

Would have been a really tough contest 11 vs 11. They were getting the upper hand in the phase of play before the sending off. I'm the end though I'm disappointed it wasn't 5 or 6 nil, but the ref protected them a bit. Onwards!

Didn't play that well but fuck Villa tbh. McGinn was snide and moany. Rogers was flopping all over the place. As an aside, he's got a lot of flak on here but Dubravka deserves some praise. Having a keeper who is part of the passing game is massive IMO.

Martinez's save was class. Have to tip your cap.

Chippy out there. Hudson Rogers is embarrassing. Should get that clip going viral Don't think Newcastle have played well, but the goal was good. Red card turned the tide. Need to continue to dominate possession, get off Trippier (on a yellow), use the width of the pitch and just exhaust the bastids. Murphy is a bit of passenger in this game. Clearly a lot of tension developing between these two sets of players.. interesting rivalry for future fixtures. One for Howe to look at, as they seemed to be trying to man mark Bruno out of possession.

Off the shoulder of their CBs I would have thought.

Also, fair to say he is the best striker in the league now the Erling FRAUDland* is no longer playing for the Harlem Globetrotters. (* - only in jest, Haaland is great, but I do think Isak is the better player).
-
This game is daft. The pricing is so generous. Everyone Johnny-come-lately has picked up Isak. Pricing should be far more discriminatory and price swings far more volatile.

Cracking day. Felt for Ipswich tbh. Always liked them as a club. Maybe it's the SBR connection. Isak, great. Murphy, again a beneficiary but I'm happy with that. Good transfer candidate in summer if we need to raise funds. If he can get double digit goals that'd be great. Tonali is a revelation. An added bonus I didn't appreciate until today is that he provide pace in the central defensive third when we're tracking back or lose possession. Something we've sorely missed and been exposed on quite a bit. Great job everyone.

Delighted for him. Overdue debut hattrick! Hopefully the floodgates are open for lots of multiple-goal games now

Tonali and Isak are different class. Also low-key love how much Murphy's value is going up. Nice trade chip for the summer.

Well that was goddam joyous. Beating up on a bad team. Well done Howe and co!
-
Alright. I suppose we could give him a shot on a low-fee 12 year contract.
-
That would be class but there's no chance. Don't sense much there is much trust in Osula yet.

He's so confident I am starting to believe him

Great win. Lovely he rested players too when the game was won
-
Fun game Still maintain that Murphy is bobbins Isak drew three/four defenders several time and laid it on a platter for the guy and he just walloped it wide
-
Good half

Callum Wilson: offered 'incentive-based' contract extension (Ornstein)

He's very well paid and that, but still feel bad for him. -
I'd probably put Barnes into Class, and re-name the "sometimes" category to "capable of being elevated to decent by those around them". I'd also put Tino in with Hall.
-
Pure jealousy tbh. Good for them for finding an edge.

Good shout. Don't watch as much non-NUFC football as I did when I was younger. Like Mancini. Thought Poch did a lot in a short space of time for Chelsea too (but he's now tied up). Must be some young Sean McVay types out there in Europe with fresh ideas and an ability to connect with the club
