They haven't been hammered because Barca have taken mercy - nothing else.
Germany/Bayern wouldn't show that mercy to Brazil/Porto, but having been similarly second best all over to Barca, they have been given a free pass from a proper pounding. Can't ignore last season's CL either. Robben and Ribery played anarl.
Cisse's shit-eating grin every time he missed (when I still wanted us to win) is burned in my brain. Also, I just think he's an overrated streak of piss who couldn't trouble a decent defence (of which there are admittedly few these days).
Williamson makes me laugh.
Being impliedly(/explicitly) rejected by McClaren is excellent news IMO.
Even a manager who desperately needs a step up out of the doldrums doesn't want to work in conditions that made Pardew cry and makes John Carver want to take out fans for tea every game.
Fan power is still potent it seems even though it no longer means what it used to. It no longer means "voting with your feet" - thankfully so, as many of our fanbase are spineless, but now means creating an atmosphere of toxicity for the manager and staff who suckle at the teat of the owner, such that they no longer want to work in that environment.
Why did you pick an ironing board as the inanimate object?
Same IQ as Carver.
But so does a pencil or a shoe.
Antithesis of Carver though, innit. Its face is entirely uncreased.
