Really rate parker and hope he stays and wants to stay and that all these rumours are complete bullshit. However there's alot of smoke that he's not settled, in which case if he really wants out we should let him go for as much as we can possibly get for him 8.5m +. We then need to replace him and i fear Barton is a huge risk as he's a ticking time bomb who will end up doing time.

I'd ideally like Owen to want to stay and score lots of goals for us next season, obviously. I hope the press are making mountains out of molehills, but as others have said Owen's silence is deafening. Although I feel he will end up staying. But if he does want away and this £9m realese clause is as true as it looks, its out of our hands anyway.The more i think about it the more it pisses me off and the more i think we should sell him.

Hopefully we'll pick up Haim on a free too. We don't need any midfielders or forwards unless we lose any really, appart from an attacking CM to give Emre some competition.

He was ok for a stop gap until Owen and Shola were fit but clearly never going to be any more than that. He gave it a good go though and did his best for us which is all we can realistically ask of a player.

I hope he stays, he was our best player season before last. Roeder trying to make him into an attacking midfield player (our gerrard) and Emre more defensively has knocked both their confidences. Big Sam can alter this and i predict parker under Big Sam Parker will be a collosal player for us (should he stay).

Bramble definately needed to leave the Toon for both our sakes he was going stale and costing us time and time again. Redknapp may well regret taking him on but time will tell. I'm praying that Campbell joins us.

I hope we keep Martins, we've got him under contract. He'll get better imo. Depends if he wants to leave and sit on the bench at Juve and just how bad his supposed attitude problem is.

i agree - one of them would be great, but both would be stupid. campbell is the better option imo - hypia seems even slower than sol :-) Agreed. I'd like Ben Haim plus Campbell ideally, as Hypia is good poitionally etc but very very slow. Then we have Cambell, Haim and Taylor as main choices for the 2 CB's positions with Hunty Edgar and Ramage as back ups. Surely Big Sam could then forge a decent defence once he gets a quality LB plus another RB. Shame about Distan. Shame in fact we coulden't hang onto him when we had him first, but time to move on me thinks.

Your a Mackem in disguise or your off your rocker!! Taylor's obviously a bloody good defender who will get better and better. Our only good defender, he's come up through the youth system captaining at most levels and he's a Geordie who geniunely loves the TOON. Give him a new contract! He's not your average footballing mercenery and he looks like he could be geniune class!

Certainly looks class to me and Given's undoubted successor. Second best keeper at the club now imo after Shay. Harps has unfortunately become a bit rusty. Question is wheather to Loan him out or keep him on the bench or play him in the reserves etc.

As has already been said if Owen wants out then we should fuck him off not beg him! Get someone in who wants to play for us and is not a crock. I'd personally preffer him to want to stay and hopes he scores 20+ goals for us next season and becomes a big hero. After big Al said he's staying then he's staying imo although his silence makes me wonder. I just want to see improvement and progression to start with. He's got some big rebuilding Job to do, so patience is required, but i do expect to see progression. UFEA cup PLACES BY THE SEASON AFTER NEXT bare minimum. Onwards and upwards from there hopefully.

I expect BS may well bring in another attacking Midfielder (perhaps this kingston, the swiss player or someone else) as competition for Emre and keep parker and Butt for the more defensive roles. Of course if Parker or Emre wants out then replace them but players of their quality i'd preffer to keep and work with. I'm a strong supporter of Emre...Mmmm see how it goes. We play better with him in the side, just don't see him fitting in with the kind of mf Sam normally fancies. Parker is a lost cause and wants out apparently. Shame as thought Parker might be a Big Sam type of player and i think played properly in the defensive mid role he could be fantastic, how reliable is this apparently source? You might be right with Emre, i'm a fan too, classy little player, shame if he can't fit him in, we'll see soon enough i suppose.

I Agree its unlikely as he's probably Chelski bound. But we should try imo. I'd be delighted 'IF' we did manage to get him. I'd maybe stretch to 12m but i don't think we can afford to splash anymore than that on one player even though he'd probably make a huge difference to us if kept fit/playing well.
