    England

He was ace, biased as f*** I recall him urging someone to "go on, skin him!" In that Poland game wasn't that the occasion Pearce come out with "Ready, Steady, Teddy!!!" when Sheringham scored? aye it's at the end. Rob Lee rounds the keeper and lays it off to him. He also went mental when we won in Zagreb. Absolutely mint, that. He's in full-on Robotwars mode. Was that shown on Channel 5? At the time it would have been BBC2, had me school robot get to the final of the first series.
  2. I believe it is the end of next season. I wouldn't be surprised if they took the opportunity to pull out at the end of this season though. we'll see a lot about the clubs real intentions on listening to the fans etc. when that deal comes up for renewal or they're to be replaced EDIT: you're right end of next season by the sound of it http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/wonga-may-end-24m-shirt-sponsorship-deal-with-newcastle-united-10268402.html There is not a chance that Wonga will be able to renew. They have had to give back millions in compensation, they aren't taking in anywhere near as much money as the used too due to new laws and regulations, as well as increased competition. I maybe mistaken but I'm sure they pulled out of their deal with Blackpool early, I know the new Hearts owners told them to get f***ed. I think they may stay this year because it would be cheaper for them to continue for this year then it would be to pull out, next year is up for debate though. They certainly won't be renewing though. Gonna be back to sportsdirect@st james' park pretty sharpish then.

I'm beginning to think I should have put a smiley in my post...
  4. End of the day it was dangerous play, whether intentional or not, it was reckless. Red for me like.
  5. Left wing or a 10 for me. I don't see him as a striker, especially if he is up there on his own. Too lightweight and not his game trying to hold it up against two big centre backs. His movement is quality and he always finds space dropping deep. I think he'd be wasted in a more back to goal role. In fairness, I am basing this on when we had Pardew/Carver in charge. But I still feel his attributes means he fits better as an wide forward or behind a striker. As oppose to leading the line. Pretty much my thoughts too. I'd be of the opinion though that ideally we'd want to stack our front line with 'must-mark' players, Mitrovic, Perez, Thauvin etc., only having one or two in makes it much easier for the defence. They can't mark everyone to death This is how Siem would work in a system with pacey players as they'll make the room for him and vice versa. Perez - De Jong - Thauvin --------Mitrovic-------- Or similar

Rules of how to respond to a David Squires comic effectively - 1. Must use the smiley 2. Scan through every shred of detail in every frame looking for the finest pixels of graphite inpsiration 3. Find the oldest possible popular culture reference to show how knowledgeable you are 4. Ensure you scan through the current replies so that you are not saying something already said 5. Sit back and watch the quotes and re-quotes flow in

I got absolutely shot to pieces on here for suggesting that the Mike Ashley interview was significant - whether it be to signify a genuine change in approach or that he's took it upon himself to go to the front lines and in front of the nation's media spouting more lies and bullshit. I said then that I liked to believe that it was the former, I don't think the club is ever going to be sold while Ashley is alive.
  8. Holy crap http://s21.postimg.org/pqbjuc4kn/Captura.jpg "Football Manager computer game expert" And the longest game he has is 10 seasons? What a joke. I've played every incarnation of the game since CM2. I'm more an expert than anyone I've ever met
  9. I think once Siem's back to full match fitness he'll be the captain tbh.
  10. Shouldn't be keeping Perez out of the starting lineup, let alone De Jong.
  11. He was always too tired.
  12. All managers being equal, our first 11 is top 8, we have some real quality still in our starting lineup. Add a quality centre back and left back and we'd be set. Squad is another matter.
  13. So my thread about our Dutch contingent using Bing translation didn't go down too well haha.

Can see Cisse going off to Turkey in a last minute deal. Leaving us with Mitrovic, Perez and arguably Armstrong to fill the single slot up top. Wouldn't be too bad to have another in, I can't see De Jong playing the whole season and Perez will probably fill his behind-the-striker role.

    Sammy Ameobi

That turn before the shot, if it was a blob of pixels doing that, first thing that would come to my mind was one of the Ameobis trying that.
  16. Not going to happen - injury-prone and always has been...and for long periods too. We need a PL class CB.....like pronto. 7 days to go..... http://deluxmag.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/pronto.jpg ?
  17. Barton was better for us in that first season back than Sissoko's managed across a whole season since imo.

I think my username should be changed to something more appropriate... 'Awesome Hawk' sounds about right, imagine if we actually bought him

    Remy Cabella

I don't think that anyone can argue that whilst disappointing he never really forced his way into the team every week with his performances, this has removed another potential obstacle for Ayoze making the starting 11 on a regular basis again, hopefully behind Mitrovic.

Stifler, he holds a doctorate (no idea who he's holding it for mind) Colback?

Disagree with you on that. Actually the opposite where players with potential leave us and don't fulfill their promise. Bit of both in my opinion. Vianna, Luque, Cabella et al..we have our share of guys with reputations simply not cutting it at the club to varying degrees, as well as some (fewer in my opinion) who have left us and then realised there potential sand some who simply flop everywhere. Either way we have a very weak record in developing players. Not too many in recent years have gotten better with us... Wish the lad luck. Tidy and tricky player undoubtedly but think he was maybe too slow/ dwelt too long on the ball for PL? Hope he does well in his career. I reckon as a mid-table PL side (if that's what we class ourselves as) we've probably had more exports to clubs above us than almost any club apart from Southampton in recent years.
