One of the few ball winners we have, not as mobile as he once was and cannot be the creative outlet in midfield we need. He is not and never really has been an attacking midfielder. Does not hide though and takes responsibility, when a few of our players do hide.

I'm not sure about this. Dont like all the bad press he brings to the club, the anger problems on and off pitch. However, he is a good footballer, when fit and not trying to injure other players. Maybe the lawyers cant see a way to get him out so they figure they bring him back into the fold to either use the asset they're going to be paying week in, week out, or just make him a more saleable commodity. Perhaps it would be best for all he went elsewhere.

Its a shame one of our (possibly local) players doesnt sponsor the club, give something back to the region. A couple of weeks wages would be all it takes.

Did you see him have a hack at the back of Martins' legs when trying to get the ball in the warm-up? Was worried he was going to injure him before kick-off. He apologised later but it shows how keen he is to get back. Only worry about Barton is, him trying to hard and losing his rag in frustration then getting sent off. We need 11 palyers on the pitch for the remaining games.

Got a feeling this might be like one of those games where the oppo come to frustrate and get men behind the ball. We'll struggle to break them down and the crowd will get (even more) anxious. Still got a weird feeling that we'll win 2-0, but head is saying probably a draw. So nervous about this one, its worse than the derby match. Not going to enjoy this at all.
