The only positive I can see from a Man U perspective is they've managed to make Chelsea look equally as shit.

I don't think forest are challenging the established order tbh, but it's good for us if the likes of them and Bournemouth are taking points from the top teams. It means our dropped points against weaker teams will do less damage, and if Spurs are still considered CL rivals to Villa, then maybe we can just toodle along unheralded while staying in touch.
-
Not surprising if this is the level of the top teams.
-
It's just two teams passing it sideways in their own half.
-
Think Chelsea are winning this. Man U look impotent.
-
Regardless of the points, we want it just to puncture their new manager euphoria.

I felt that was ok, just `isak being modest and trying to give Gordon credit for a fantastic cross. It's commentators and fans glossing over the header which narks me. It was perfect execution, not like you could just get a touch on it and it's a goal.

Pardon us for having the temerity of occupying the same table vicinity.
-
Spurs are CL rivals to Villa according to the commentators? Don't think they are much ahead of us are they?
-
Love seeing Spurs lose as well tbf.
-
On the plus side, Villa needed taking down a peg or two.
-
Nice finish that. Oh well.

Getting a bit fed up of hearing he was left with an easy header. The cross was fantastic, but there was still plenty to do. Great leap, and almost perfect contact and direction to get it into the top corner from that range.

Can't decide which result suits us better. Probably a stalemate would be best even if Spurs are more in our immediate vicinity in the table. I still think Europe has to catch up with Villa at some point this season.

This is the guy everyone was insisting was a donkey when he was at Everton right?
-
Can't really blame them when the PL keep introducing rules to maintain their superiority.
-
Bad miss by Watkins, he just needed a connection there and it's a goal.

Definitely. While throwing the kitchen sink can be exciting, it doesn't inspire confidence when you get left open on the counter. I've seen this change in the last two games, the gap between midfield and defence seems to have closed in a healthy way. I don't mind conceding a bit of possession as long as we are using the ball well when we have it. We looked compact on Wednesday and yesterday, and using different defenders and midfielders without affecting that solidity bodes well for the rest of the season.

Howe himself was pissed off at some of the performances, it's not sacrilege to want better. Yes you will get some OTT reactions, but you don't have to take everything on board.

They came down to earth with a bump in the last couple of weeks. They thought they'd found the holy grail by becoming harder to beat, but they've lost something in their fluency going forward IMO. They gave us football lessons a year ago, now they didn't look anything special at all. I know they didn't have Odengaard, but surely their game doesn't just revolve around one player?
-
Tends to follow the performance/results generally which I think is fair enough. For me the last couple of games we've had both and that makes me feel happy. Prior to that we were getting either one or the other, and sometimes neither. From what I saw over the last few days we have the parts to build an effective side, we just have to put them together in the right order.

Honestly feel like them being 3rd in the table will work in our favour. There won't be any complacency about us being the better team. We will have to earn anything we get with sheer hard work and concentration for 90 mins. They've done us enough times down there for us not to take them lightly.

Must admit it did give me a nice start to the morning reading how much Arteta dreads facing Joelinton. His nightmares probably revolve around golden haired brown monsters chasing down little red and white hoods.

I think even Longstaff benefits from a certain mix of midfielders. I guess everyone just knows their roles and they compliment each other. Classic example of the sum being greater than the parts.
