  1. They can't be arsed and who can blame them? If our players can't fight for our survival why should we expect anyone else to do it for us?
  2. Must be the mackems? the mackems are so sad I think they'd quite happily accept relegation themselves as long as we went down with them.
  3. Most of them couldn't give a toss one way or another, that's the trouble. How right you are. I keep forgetting that quite a few of them have no self-respect or backbone. I can dream. I can't remember a squad of Newcastle players I've loathed as much as this one.
  4. It's his insistence on going for so many difficult passes that baffles me. He routinely struggles to complete 15 yard passes along the ground under no pressure from the opposition, yet somehow seems to convince himself 5 to10 times a game that he's going to manage to drop one in a target as big as a basketball hoop from 30 yards. If he'd have the basic sense to realise that he can't pass the ball worth a piss then he'd be an alright player. Part of the problem might just be that we've nobody else whose a great deal better at picking a ball from midfield, so Butt feels the need to try and take matters into his own hands and make something happen. It's commendable, in a sense, as he's actually trying to be pro-active and help the team. Unfortunately, he's an absolutely desperate passer of a football and therefore his efforts prove a hindrance to us rather than any sort of help. Can't believe we extended him for next year. He always ends up being our midfielder who gets furthest forward as well, as in the last minute chance which was saved by Schwarzer on Saturday. The amount of times he ends up ahead of Nolan is untrue. When was the last time that wheezing twat had a shot on goal? Isn't that why he was signed?
  5. To be fair he's old and slow but he hasn't been any worse than any of our other midfielders last few games. It seems pointles singling him out at this stage.
  6. Well if we're going to be pedantic here, I will strongly disagree. The names that NE5 mentions did not defend Ashley as much as they indicted Shepherd for his mistakes. As far as I know macbeth was "chief culprit" in providing the club accounts that showed the shambles that Shepherd left us with. Of course that did not go down too well with NE5, and he's gone and lumped the lot of them in one basket, completely oblivious to the same old downright embarrassing posts he himself has showered us with at times. How is it possible to lambast Ashley for being a shit Chairman (which he is) and at the same time defend Shepherd who is as much to blame for this mess if not more? Utter hypocrisy.
  7. Newcastle isn't a big club but half the country will be glued to their sets to watch us go down. The only consolation is that everyone involved with SKY will be shitting their pants at the prospects of mass monthly debit cancellations. Well you can't have it both ways...enjoy the show.

    Nothings changed

Beye is out as well? So people are expecting us to get at least a draw against Villa without our two best defenders? Fuck off man, the truth is we could win and still go down. I am bracing myself for the worst, all we can do is hope other teams will help us out because I wouldn't rely on us helping ourselves.
  9. Ashley has fucked up monumentally, he obviously hasn't got a clue about football and he's made terrible decisions. Our awful squad which was assembled at a high cost was partly inherited though. The previous owners have a lot to answer for as well, this is what is not being acknowledged by the Shepherd cheerleaders. The one thing that annoys me is Ashley and his spin doctors keep on telling us they have to trim the wage bill down due to mistakes from the previous régime yet they were the ones themselves who signed Viduka, Geremi, Barton & Smith on extremely lucrative contracts. They were all Allardyce signings and that structure was in place before Ashley arrived. Realistically he had to back the manager, he could hardly sack him without giving him a fair shot.

  11. We didn't play that bad it's true, but this is why we should never have been in a position where we were relying on getting the breaks in our last home game of the season.
  12. getting what we deserve for saying we couldn't keep on going the way fred was and having to take a risk on ashley ? I think the last comment "Some of you are getting what you deserve" gives the game away. As if getting relegated is only going to affect the anti-Shepherd brigade. Ashley has proven to be a terrible owner, so if HTL and others want congratulating for being right...well done. Without Ashley we'd still need an owner though. Shepherd and Hall sold out and took the money, so what were the alternatives?

    Nolan

Except Martins, he's fair game right? Nolan's use of the ball isn't too bad tbh, the problem is he just can't run. He is so slow lumbering up and down the pitch the game mostly just passes him by. I see Bolton are rumoured to be in for Barton in the summer. Ironic that they'll have off-loaded a championship level midfielder to us while taking our one quality schemer off us. Says it all if it happens.
  14. Fuck Keegan, he's suing us for £8m. unless his soccer circus was earning him £1m a month he hasn't a leg to stand on.

    Jonas Gutierrez

Can we send him back if we don't agree with the valuation?

    Obafemi Martins

Jayson's been kissing Owen's arse all week so he probably thinks blaming Martins will deflect the criticism. Fact is, if Martins hadn't scored on Monday we'd already be down. your the one linking my comments about MARTINS towards Owen. I am not even considering owen to be honest, i think its s**** that hes somehow managed to t*** himself again. What i AM however saying, is that martins finishing was s****. its not a very confusing argument How come you didn't post in this thread after the boro game? Did Martins goal which could still keep us up sicken you? Your posts are getting severely pathetic now. Just because you have a sad little idea in your head doesnt make it true. I disagree with many on owens ability and the way he plays. This doesnt determine my opinion on every single issue relating to newcastle. I said martins did well to get his goal v boro, i also specifically said owen would not have been able to score the goal martins did. Look back through my posts instead of replying with this crap You didn't answer my question though. Why didn't you post in this thread after Martins scored against boro?
  17. We didn't deserve to lose but this is where we are and it isn't because of today's result.

    Howard Webb

This is what happens when you leave yourselves in other peoples hands.
  19. 1-1 I think we'll scrap a draw and I just hope Man U juniors pan Hull.

    Relegationometer

6 I feel like shit but we have a 50/50 chance of staying up IMO. I think we can draw with Villa (surely our players will fight for their fucking lives??) and either Sunderland or Hull could yet fuck up. The only reason I'm not a 5 is because we need a result, the other teams potentially don't.
  21. The relegation of the once mighty Newcastle United on national tv....what bigger story could you want?
  22. Unfortunately a mystery injury for our club captain when we really needed a captains performance from him limited our options today. We could have started with Lovenkrands like quite a few were suggesting. I just think that would have panned out better.
