  1. Not really sure how we won that, but I'll take it. Everyone looked off the pace, but the defence was rock solid mostly. Lascelles stood out for me, Almiron was pish. Wish he'd gone out on last week's performance.
  2. Thought he was pretty ordinary tbh, but the assist was gold.

Their manager has done well tbf. I don't even know his name but he has handled things well. Hopefully they'll get their own badge which doesn't look like a bastardised version of ours at some point.
  4. I still consider Dubravka to be a very good keeper, for me we either bring in a really top class keeper, or a promising young understudy. Don't know that much about Henderson tbf, maybe he is considered a real talent by those higher up.
  5. Yeah that's what he was saying. I actually feel a bit gutted for the players who are going to be moved on, there are some who are clearly desperate to stay but just aren't good enough. I think a few were out there saying their goodbyes on Sunday and that's why they were hanging around long after the game was over. The Athletic ran a good story on it today, don't know if anyone has posted it on here yet, not been online much today.
  6. First goal in 2 years, you probably picked out his career highlights in that one game.
  7. Yeah I saw the kid with the two fingers up, just didn't think for one moment he could be getting that angry at a 10 yr old.
  8. Could hardly understand a word he said tbh. I know he told someone to fuck right off, not sure who or why though.
  9. Well I've seen him wing over the odd peach of a cross, maybe one every four appearances, I can't remember Obertan even producing one. He does often threaten to score as well, he'll hit the post or the bar. It's not great, but Obertan used to slow down the closer he got to the goal until eventually he turned round and started running the other way.
  10. Yeah, when I look at the Arsenal team I don't see a whole bunch of household names like we did in years past. Arteta has been very publicly laying down the law, and he's got some good youngsters tbf, but are they CL material? I think it's asking a bit much, I think you are right, they probably overachieved in reality.
  11. I know he's at Barcelona, but hadn't realised he'd signed permanently, thought he was there on loan. Anyway, he wasn't starting for them before that, and he was definitely one of their big name players, so while they have had star players, they haven't been much use to them. That's why you have the likes of Nketiah playing up front.

    Joelinton

I think you are probably right if we look at objectively, but he offers so much as a player it's difficult to see how you wouldn't miss him. Physical presence, a turn of pace, runs for 90 mins and tackles ferociously. Not to mention he's not bad in the air and can hold the ball up pretty well as a former striker.
  13. Arsenal don't really look or play like a top 4 side tbh, they look like a bunch of talented youngsters doing reasonably well. I know they've spent plenty of money, but their biggest stars, Aubemyang and Lacazette aren't even playing. When they played Spurs last week, did anyone really fancy them?

    Emil Krafth

Him and Targett are two pretty solid full backs if you judge on defensivee ability. Ideally you want marauding full backs who give you more attacking options, but if not then having very good defenders is hardly a terrible alternative.
  15. The ball sticks to his feet like a magnet, and I love how he can be surrounded by opponents biting at his ankles, and he just holds them off and takes his own sweet time before picking out the perfect pass.

    Callum Wilson

We need a reliable starting striker AND Callum Wilson. At his age the transfer fee would be pointless, but we should aim for the very best we can get and make Callum fight to get the shirt. He will need to be some player mind, Wilson is one of the best strikers in the PL.
  17. I'm up at 5 tomorrow, what the fuck am I doing here?
  18. Well, if he goes (and he probably should) this is the way to go. 90 mins of all action energy. He might not have end product, but he can be a massive pain in the arse for the opposition when he's on song.
  19. It was. Even the Sky team were recognising it.
  20. He's the calibre of SBR and Keegan, where you feel proud he is representing us as a football club and city. I'm sure the owners trust him 100%, I know I do.
  21. I said before the game I fancied us to win this, but the manner of the win was a surprise tbh, that's as good football as we've played in a long time. We didn't just win, we battered them, and we are talking a side who were in a CL position before today.
  22. I wonder when this will stop being the Arsenal show?
  23. Yeah this was him on a good day, and then he looks like a world beater.
