Which is 100% correct tbf. If we upgraded on Shola, Williamson, Obertan and Jonas (not to mention Gosling, Vuckic) we'd have a great squad. I wouldn't be surprised if a big reason we signed no one was because we didn't move them on. Can imagine Ashley not being happy to pay 100k a week for people to do nothing.

The year Sven was in charge saw Richards put in some very good performances at centre half. Think he got injured half way through the season but before that his pace made him a great partner for Dunne.

Cardiff City vs Newcastle United - Saturday 5th October

It's time for this clown to go. One of those games where I'm tempted to say I want us to get hammered. -
Nothing much has changed, let's hope Liverpool get something today. I was looking at our run of fixtures coming up, got me a bit worried like. We've already peaked, I don't think we'll climb above where we are now for the rest of the season (assuming the manager keeps his job). You don't think we'll climb above 16th? Hadaway. Another spectacularly dramatic statement. I think we'll get a point if we're lucky from the next eighteen available so I don't see us climbing the table from here. We've already had the easiest run of games we'll see all season and made a complete f***ing mess of it.  WTF?!?! Sorry to double quote, but this has really astounded me, this part of your post. Really? Can't see three home bankers in a row anywhere else on the fixture calendar (plus an away game against the worst home team in the division), feel free to point it out though. Who is the worst home team in the division?

Will we have any interest? Ottman Bakkal Artem Milevsky Ciprian Marica 3 international players who could definitely offer us value. Especially Milevsky who is a good target man.

Nixons lost the plot on twitter. Telling me that Stoke and Norwich have better squads than us. No wonder Pards gets an easy ride with those writing about him believing nonsense like that.

I think the problem this summer is that we haven't been able to move players out. When JFK came in, he made a big song and dance about moving out players who aren't good enough. Yet Gosling, Shola, Obertan and Williamson are still here and probably take over 5m a year in wages. For a tight bastard like Ashley, he won't pay those lot to do nothing.
-
Andrea Dossena. Brilliant- he's 32 in ten days and wasn't any good in his prime.
-
Hardly surprising, as i said all summer long Giacherrini aside all their players are average. He's also average. Did nothing today against some nomark right back.

But the squad is shit and Pardew can't help but relegate us with it. It's not his fault honest. Oh wait, that's pretty good actually. EDIT: That's aimed at the media not people on here. -
Has he learned to control the ball while he's been at Chelsea?
-
I imagine he's suffering from a crisis of confidence. Being constantly dropped and overlooked for Sammy will do that to a player. We tried to play him in a position like Silva at Man City. Wide but drifting in and in between the defence and midfield. I think it could work if he had a run of games, which he won't get. In fact, Sammy will probably start next week.

Double deal for Gomis and Gourcuff means we can reduce the Gomis price right down so that Lyon don't have to pay St. Ettiene any sell on fee.

Chantome on loan to Toulouse. Opens up a spot for Cabaye. -
I said it wasn't going to happen!! I was interested in what people would think about Cabaye being sold to part fund it!
-
If we sold Cabaye for 20m and signed Gomis, Thauvin, Sinclair and McCarthy for 35m, how should we feel about that? That would leave us a Tiote and Williamson upgrade away from a very decent side. Obviously not going to happen but interested in the opinions.
-
He's never used the too young arguement. He's given young uns a chance wherever he's been, giving Oxlade Chamberlain amongst others his debut at 16. I'd bring Williamson in though and play Mapou at Right Back instead of Debuchy. He hasn't the stones to drop Debuchy.
-
In a fair world, he starts next week regardless of Santon's fitness. Santon should be at right back. Pardew won't do that though. He's a bottling little bitch.

Sell him for 20, replacement for 10, use profit to pay off Pardew and get Poyet: Side instantly improved. -

Genuine question. Should I put 10k on us to get beat tonight? -
From the Teamtalk paper review: Newcastle director of football Joe Kinnear has been offered wing wonder Jefferson Montero - but Crystal Palace lead the chase for the Ecuador ace. (Daily Star). If we're going to play 4-5-1/4-3-3 and can't get Gomis, I wouldn't mind us signing two wingers. Remy or Cisse up front, 2 of Hatem, Gouffran or one of the two wingers wide.

Can't say it's always the case which is the most frustrating part. We really went for it at home to Chelsea and away to Man U last year. Was the same in the reverse fixtures the previous year as well.
