  1. If we'd went for Rickie Lambert 4 years ago, everyone would have been saying the same. In fact, I think a lot were when we were linked with him after the Carroll sale.
  2. I think they want rid of him following the Morrison incident. There was talk of him sueing them for not backing him over it wasn't there? Handy little player.
  3. Townsend according to tomorrow's Journo.
  4. Every time I've seen Colback he's been decent. He certainly dominated Tiote and Anita at our place. He's also impressed me against Man City on three seperate occasions. Not a world beater and seems inconsistent but he does have the capacity to be a very effective Premiership midfielder.
  5. A large campaign to get rid of him is likely to backfire somewhat. Ashley really isn't the type of guy who gets pressured into doing something- it'll strengthen his resolve. We have to hope for results to continue to be bad- maybe if we lost every game until the end of year and west ham knocked us out of the top 10, we might have a hope.
  6. Just riding on the tails of Caulkin there though, the only decent journalist out there. The same Caulkin who told us all how 'energised and focused' Pardew was in the summer and bigged up his mate Darren Bent all summer. As eloquent and right as he usually is, he's as spineless as the rest of them.
  7. He's a twat but it's somewhat irrelevant. The only way that's getting extended is if we get taken over by someone who cares and if that happens they can buy the land back. Am I right in thinking the proposed expansion only adds 8k as well? With the TV money nowadays, that's next to nothing in terms of new revenue.
  8. Let's not forget Liverpool have spent some money on that side. They spent nearly 20m on Sakho for god's sake. They were in the top 4 for net spend last summer, and spent on Coutinho and Sturridge in January, so they are hardly scraping by. The football is impressive and the improvement in some players is also a real achievement mind you.
  9. Who was the soft arse who bottled the tackle in the middle of the park?
  10. There's no way the FA have the balls to ban him from all managerial duties.
  11. City fans are pricks of the highest order. No one should congratulate them or comment on their 'sensational' team. It makes them forget that they are essentially Abu Dhabi United and the last game Man City played before they died they got humped off Boro.
  12. How in any manner of speaking is it worse than what Ince did? Absolute nonsense. If he gets a 10 game stadium ban, he should sue the shit out of them and ask how that's worse than a manager threatening to 'do' an official if he ever sees him again after pushing him against a wall.
  13. Did Shearer say he should be sacked? The quotes I read said Shearer said he may consider resigning and it was Souness who said he should be sacked. I haven't a video of it though.
  14. Only 38 in the 27 games played by Krul. So 1.2 goals a game against 1.4 for Krul. Hardly a massive discrepancy. It's more likely they saw the game v Spurs and concluded he wasn't playing well at the moment.
  15. Swansea have conceded more than us yet Vorm is in.
  16. Are nufc.com seriously suggesting that he isn't in the side because he's not playing champions league? Vorm is in there and he's been picked countless times in the past. Maybe they just saw his performance v Spurs or are trying new things. Nonsense from them. Not to say he might not leave like.
  17. We were very poor but they were absolutely pathetic second half. They barely attacked and I can't recall a shot. Amazing considering they dominated for 25 minutes before half time, we're shit and hadn't won/scored at home in forever.
  18. It'll definately be 4-4-2 with Sissoko right and Gouffran left. I would assume Tiote for Gosling, LDJ for Cisse and Williamson for Taylor.
  19. So Pardew's finally clicked that Taylor is the shite defender most could have told him 3 years ago? He's got razor sharp player assessment skills has Pardew thanks to his extensive football knowledge built through years of top level football. To be fair, he's been injured most of that period! I really thought it had clicked with him in that unbeaten run at the start of 2011/12. He was superb at Old Trafford and then did his Achilles the next game. He's massively regressed and needs to move on now. Hopefully he will in the summer.
  20. If you base it on pure numbers, people would argue Pardew is doing a great job. We've made a profit since getting promoted even before we sold Cabaye.
  21. Aye, I reckon Dummett will play and Taylor will escape a dropping again. If colo is fit, we can play Taylor left back.
  22. Once when they went down to 9 men, once playing nearly the entire game with 10, like. Hopefully that's some sort of Steve Bruce jinx they have!
  23. They've lost twice under Poyet to Hull so that's no easy game if Hull go through.
  24. Do they still do cheap/free tickets for schools etc? We might have to follow suit next season...
  25. his record says otherwise His management record is very average. DOF is the sort of role that suits him perfectly though- he knows how football should be played, he understands the value of youth, he's hugely respected and speaks passionately and professionally.
