    Hatem Ben Arfa

Good news I guess. Patience is the key really.
  2. Not watching the Villa-City game. From what I gather from this thread, nothing's really happening?
  3. well i would love to. but recently took out basic sky package and the bastards dont include ssn I miss having SSN on Freeview. had it on virgin- but not on sky- how odd. We cancelled Sky last year and iirc, we had the entertainment pack and that included SSN.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

True, but think he will stay for at least another season (one where he's essentially injury-free). He's not going anywhere this summer or next January. Think Ben Arfa's still motivated enough to try and prove himself to Pardew/in the PL. The only way he'll still be here next season is if he's starting fairly regularly by the end of this one. Players of his self belief don't spend more than one season warming the bench. That doesn't just apply to Ben Arfa but any player with ambition to play at the top. As it stands, I honestly think he'll get his proper chance (a run of games in the side) between now and the rest of the season (especially with Tiote and Cabaye back). If not, then I'll probably change my view like I've said above.

Think Ben Arfa's still motivated enough to try and prove himself to Pardew/in the PL. Wishful thinking IMO. He probably feels he still owes us after his injury and I know that he's frequently said that he's a more mature character these days but if the rest of the season is like this I think he'll put in a transfer request in the summer. The only thing that would affect that would be us finishing 4th which is very unlikely. If things do continue as they are (as in Ben Arfa is still not being selected even if all our big guns (the likes of Cabaye/Tiote) are fit and ready), then I'll probably change my view but as it stands, I'm still not too worried as such.
  9. In his interview for the job: 'Well i've got this brilliant CD with some great songs that will wind Newcastle up...did I tell you I'm from Newcastle?............................Newcastle'
  10. The non-entity himself, yep. Wow
  11. Sounds like he's had a dressing down as well. Good.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

Maybe it's wishful thinking on my part but I really think Pardew wants to play Ben Arfa in the team. Of course, there have been instances when this has probably not been the case but imho, Hatem is definitely in Pardew's long term plans.... (The ProZone s**** is probably the main factor in Ben Arfa not being selected actually )
  14. Could we put a dome over Liverpool so that it's cut off from the outside world? Would work out well for everyone....... http://images.wikia.com/simpsons/images/6/64/Dome.jpg
  15. Shouldn't be sold imo. Sure, his weaknesses have been exposed this season but I still trust him to do a job like. He's a steady, not-so-exceptional CB. Having said that, Saylor is the better option but still, it is nice to have someone like Williamson as backup. (We do need another capable CB though, squad depth reasons really).
  16. That is indeed surprising. He looked really good at the start of the season though you could put his lack of goals down to his injury in October? After he came back from the injury, don't think he's actually scored any.
  17. Couldn't really do much yesterday (understandable given the scoreline and Spurs' dominance). A couple of decent crosses in though. Was nice to see him get a runout mind.
  18. That's unsurprising tbh. Though I'm pretty confident he'll sign a new contract in the end. (Though guess it's dependent on where we finish.....).

    Alan Pardew

He got the system completely wrong from the off today. Playing the two Dembas may have looked great on paper but really an extra body in midfield could have helped our cause today. Earlier in the week, there were concerns from some on here that Guthrie-Perch would be overwhelmed by Spurs' midfield and this turned out to be so - Parker/Modric were completely on top today. I think an extra man in CM could have curbed Spurs' attack. Bit worrying that it took Pardew quite a while to change things around mind (switching Jonas to the right/bringing on Ferguson). Bringing Ben Arfa on wouldn't have done much today btw - this is mainly down to the fact we basically had nothing in/from midfield today so Hatem wouldn't have seen much of the ball anyway (imo). I reckon that if Raylor was fit today, he would have started instead of Obertan. Still though, we're 6th and a point off Chelsea/Arsenal. Pardew will hopefully learn from today and will make sure it doesn't happen again in the future. Now it's time to concentrate on Wolves.
