  1. Foppe de Haan, Marco Van Basten, Frank Rijkaard...bring back the sexy football
  2. WHAT? Not this s**** again man. I am not saying its what I want but I do think its what Mike wants, Jose for me is what we need but that won't happen I'm not sure about Jose either...he have had lots of defensive minded coaches in the recent past and you know the result. I'm not questioning his motivating skills but I'm desperate for an attacking coach for a while who likes to entertain the fans! I think even the guys like Cannavaro and Nesta would just turn to be total rubbish in our defence so why keep on trying to fix it...fix the offence first and then we can actually try to keep the ball more and not keep our defence under pressure all the time as they certainly can't handle it at all! There's not much point to wait and see us losing against City, Chelsea and ManU. Mike Ashley should take some immediate actions to fix the staff.
  3. Martins and N'Zogbia have performed pretty good so far...Our full backs are going forward like crazy Barton's been awful and should be replaced at HT. Complete waste of money IMO!
  4. Shearer #9 (05-07 home shirt) and Parker #17 (07-09 home shirt)
  5. We're playing 4-5-1 or 4-4-2? Who's playing at LW...if Zoggy's at LB?
  6. Who's gonna score for us?...even Smith * 2 won't do it
  7. I'm far from confident but the injury problems of Gunners will definitely make it easier for us. We should press them right from the start and don't go defensive...If we fall back and try to hit from counters there's no much hope as Arsenal even with their 2nd choice midfield are able to pass us out of the game Are the line-ups already confirmed? I'm hoping for a 4-3-3 with Given - Beye, Taylor, Roz, Enrique - Barton(DM), Geremi, Emre - Milner, N'Zogbia - Oba
  8. IF Big Sam is to be sacked....we'll need an attacking coach who dares to play Martins and Owen up front supported by another skillful and creative attacking midfielder like Emre(or Van der Vaart ) behind them. Not the most powerful trio but their pace would trouble every single defence in the league and that we havne't been able to do for such a long time. At the moment (with this booring defensive play) we can't even get the ball to our forwards. Under pressure our defence is just pure s..t I wouldn't exactly like Capello but at least he'd be some improvement to BSA
  9. Actually I managed to came up even with a worse line-up and found a spot for Shola there
  10. No chance we'll be playing 4-3-3 against the Gunners even if it's at home...it's more like 4-5-1 without unneccesary risks mainly with the ball being hoofed up to Viduka's fat head á la Big Sam style. 4-5-1 is not a bad formation but wide men should be supporting the lone striker way much more. I'd be glad to see a line-up something like Given - Beye, Taylor, Rozehnal, Enrique - Barton, Geremi, Emre - Milner, N'Zogbia and Martins...but I can't see that happening as BSA will do it like the one below with some shocking decisions possibly including Carr and Butt Given Carr Taylor Roz N'Zogbia Geremi Butt Smith Martins Viduka Shola And Martins will be replaced by Duff at HT even if we're losing

    Roy Hodgson

Hodgson has signed for Inter to work as Director of Football or in a role something related to that. No doubt that he did a good job coaching Finland and we were so close to reach the Euro finals but his style of play is sooooo boring. Finland's biggest strenght is the defence but there's no much point in trying only to keep a clean sheet and forget the whole idea of attacking. I was kinda shocked to hear Hodgson's strategy for the games against so called bigger countries which was "just not to lose". Hodgson made us play defensively against such major forces as Azerbaijan and Kazhakstan even at home. Happy he's gone to Inter and I'm just hoping that our FA will not go for another 0-0 type of a coach this time... Damn sure he's not the type of a coach for Newcastle. I'd like to see us going for a offensive minded coach this time. Offence is the best defence you know...Rijkaard, Juande Ramos or Scolari types...not neccesarily these coaches but a guy with that philosophy of playing! We've been trying to fix our leaky defence with defensive minded coaches like Souness, Dalglish or Roeder and now Big Sam but look who's brought us some level of success since 90's...KK and Sir Bobby.
  12. Have you ever thought that the keepers might be the reason for our poor defending. It's keepers job to let the defenders know what's happening and how they should be positioned. Does Shay or Steve do this good enough?
  13. How about our midfield...it seems so poor at the moment. Our forwards can't get any service at all and mostly they create the chances themselves. We have no pace at all in our play and Milner just dribbles with the ball and the loses it or crosses way out of the target. Midfield doesn't cover the defence and how come all our defenders looks like shit althought they've been successful at their previous clubs. Our only players who are able to do something on the pitch are N'Zogbia and Emre. They have the skills and pace to put the opponent under any pressure. Maybe we should think about changing the midfield instead of rotating defenders and attackers or sacking coaches!
  14. Damn...What has Viduka done so far to stay on the pitch? Martins hasn't done much either but surely does look way more of a threat than Viduka who's not even trying
  15. First of all we need to get Viduka off for Owen and second....start keeping the ball on the deck on use the pace of our strikers. Put some pressure on this young guy Weather as he looks kinda vunerable to me. With 3 guys in the midfield we can't get any possession of the ball but it doesn't matter as far as we'd play with our strenghts
  16. Mike Ashley sitting next to Mort and Big Sam in a Newcastle shirt?
  17. BOOOOOOORING!!!! Milner MOM....but our strikers were terrible today. Mellberg & Laursen totally dominated them
  18. A starter for European Super Cup and Spanish Cup winner can't be a bad player. Also starter for Serbian NT I think and most of all a defensive minded player which was Big Sam's priority. At the age of 31...can't be a long-term solution but surely brings some consistency to our leaking left side of the defence.
  19. On 10 August 2005, it was reported that Hyypiä had agreed to a new three-year contract after weeks of talks with the Reds which would keep him at Anfield until 2008. Does that means he's only free in January or something? In January free for negotiations but to transfer only at the end of his current contract! And I think he's very much in the Benitez plans still as a 1st backup for Agger & Carra pair. I'd certainly take him before Cacapa but can't really see it happening
  20. I wouldn't be too surprised if he ends up to Hammers for like 6-8 millions as they seem to be paying really weird amount of money for their recruitment(since they were taken over by this bald little guy Magnusson or something). Twice the amount as anyone else even linked with a player...plus the wages of course Julien Faubert Craig Bellamy Luis Boa Morte Matt Upson Lucas Neill just a few to mention
  21. Everyone knows Ameobi's s***! BUT I meant if Owen and Martins are staying as it seems now. Of course we need a replacement if other or even both leaves...A rotation of Owen-Oba-Viduka looks decent enough for the first team. Carroll(and Ameobi unfortunately) could be given a share of first team experience via the cup games.
  22. Well...we don't actually need another striker if Owen & Martins are staying so that rules out a world-class striker signing IMO. On the other hand a right winger(I prefer Milner in that role but he need a backup player), a left fullback(name one left sided fullback who culd be described as a world-class signing!...I can't) and another central defender comes in my mind. An experienced left footed(preferably) centreback...hmmm Marco Materazzi but I can't see him coming up here. Gonzalo Rodriguez, Gaby Milito, Christian Chivu, Jorge Andrade and Carles Puyol In case if it's not a defender...an offensive central midfilder with some playmaking skills would be a perfect buy and there are plenty of those guys who would rock the footballing world and can be regarded as world-class signing. One already mentioned is Stevie G but he won't leave Liverpool for Newcastle no matter what's the weekly wage. Juan-Roman Riquelme(too light-weighted for English play IMO), Carlito Tevez(now as he seems to be fully adapted to English style) would be an ideal signing...Kaka, Ronaldinho etc are just way out of our reach
