  1. Given/Harper Geremi/ Taylor/ Rozehnal/ Baines(new LB)/ Solano Hunty Edmilson Babayaro Barton/ Emre/ Butt Edmilson(new DM) Milner/ Viduka/ Duff/ Solano/Dyer Dyer/Oba N'Zogbia/Oba Owen/ Oba/Viduka Actually I think we should play 4-3-3 when attacking which changes to 4-5-1 when defending as the wingers drop deep. One role which we're badly missing is a decent attacking midfield playmaker. Maybe Emre or Zog could be tried at that position but neither have impressed. Riquelme might be worth of a try but I have some doubts about his physical ability to manage in the Premier League. One thing I'm glad about(in case we'll be getting a good new LB) is that we seem to have no position where we might look a bit weak like the whole defence did last season. There seems to be good competition for every single position which can be only a good thing... Only 4 players have arrived so far but the things overall looks so much better. With Ashley's money...I guess we'll be making one more world class signing before the start of the campaign and I really think it should be a playmaker
  2. Or Carroll will going on loan to a Championship side... Martins - Viduka - Owen with Smith as a rotation player isn't anything impossible. EDIT: Oh...there's one Shola as well
  3. How about the another Gunner loanee Arthuro Lupoli? Still have some hopes for Zoggy...if only he could improve his morale on and off the pitch
  4. I rekon this but with no black box around 'northern rock' bit I don't really like the ones above but in case if it's the quoted one....I might consider buying one with Taylor on the back. Kinda disappointed that my new home kit with Parker #17 is history now but still have big respect for the guy
  5. Serbia 1-0....great goal but an awful marking mistakes from Finland's defence!
  6. Finland today with a formation as below... Jääskeläinen Pasanen Tihinen Hyypiä Kallio Heikkinen Tainio Väyrynen Ilola Forssell Kuqi
  7. pretty sure you will get a refund for that shirt Says on the site, where you buy the shirt that you 'buy personalised shirts at your own risk' or something. So i dunno. Aye, you're screwed with that one. I was on a few weeks ago, and they're still offering ROSSI 15 as an option for the new shirt. Well...I don't exactly regret buying Parker personalized shirt as I loved his style of playing. Of course it would be better to have a shirt with a player's name of our current squad but my other Toon shirt is Shearer #9....so I aguess I'm living the past or something
  8. Scotty is supposed to be earning considereably more than The Hammers currently best earning player Lucas Neill with 72.000 per week. Although Parker was always one of my absolute favourites at Newcastle(I did even bough a new shirt with 17 and Parker on the back ) paying him such wages is just nuts! This new owner of West Ham, Magnusson or whatever his name is, doesn't seem to have a clue of dealing with a football club's financial structure....or he's just way too rich and doesn't care a bit! Anyway...2 million profit on Parker is a brilliant piece of business after such a huge letdown this season. Big Sam's going to bring our finance and wage balance back to healthy level or what's the point with the current trend? Going for free transfers only and selling our big earners! With Ashley's money he culd do so much better...

    Hyypia in Toon?

Hyypiä is a big time professional and certainly is not after a big payroll...I'm sure he would get twice the salary somewhere else than he's making currently at Pool
  10. Dyer was great at Ipswich but has never managed to live up to the expectations here! Constantly I mean...just too much of a roller coaster ride! Zoggy was great and always so much fun to watch last season but this season... I think Emre and Bellamy have been the most exciting players for us lately. And Parker's passion for tackles
  11. They teach strikers that? Wouldn't exactly hurt us if they teach some of our players how to do that as well... Name a top team which doesn't have a good defence at the moment! Everything starts from there and defenders should also be able to make some plays and not just to hoof the ball long a la Bramble style!
  12. Spot on... we've got a world class finisher in the side, and yet people just aren't bothered simply because he 'doesn't care' - which is exaggerated in this case anyway. I'm leaning towards selling Owen but not because he's not good enough or anything like that! Owen's easily our best player but he's just way too expensive...We could make a nice income from his transfer fee to finance couple of other "more important" buys to strenghten our starting eleven at more crucial positions like the defence! And...Owen's 120 000 per week wage
  13. And all because of Owen, Dyer, Duff, Luque and Butt(maybe Parker and Emre too). Their contracts should be checked and bring back to more realistic level but I wouldn't really mind seeing at least Dyer and Butt leaving as it can only do good for our poor financial situation...
  14. Should have learned the lesson already at the Gunners...or maybe he's just a greedy bastard(even considering our ridiculous wage policy)
  15. Given Solano Taylor Ben Haim Bridge Parker Milner N'Zogbia Tuncay Owen Martins Tuncay Sanli and Ben Haim for free plus Bride for less than €5million...and a few more squad players for starting eleven rotation
  16. That's no reason as none of the players were high earners. The wage situation would be eased at least three times that much by selling Owen(for example but I hope that's not going happen) plus the probable 9 million pounds transfer income...
  17. Okay...I've got the point! But in Maccarone's case Boro signed him for big money(9million?) and he was already a star in Serie A! Viana's still a decent player but couldn't adapt to Premier League and clearly he wasn't scouted good enough(but we just had to sign him before top European clubs because we always do that without a proper research)
  18. Apparently none of our scouts are watching the tournament(no surprise though as we've got no scout at all) but is there a better chance to spot talents than youth top class tournaments? There's always a risk involved but these guys are very cheap in general and willing to improve by joining a high profile club like us. I'm not sure but was it Tim Krul who caught our attention with his performaces for Ducth U17 team...(and he was signed by Sir Bobby?)
  19. My 1st team/backups would be... Given/Krul Solano/New - Taylor/Hunty - New/Ramage - New/Edgar Milner/New - Parker/New - Sidwell/Emre - N'Zogbia/Duff Owen/Shola - Martins/Carroll So...Harper, Carr, Bramble, Gooch, Moore, Babayaro?, Dyer, Pattison, Luque, Sibierski, Butt(age/wage), Bernard, Pav all off the board. Not much trasnfer income out of these players(exl. Dyer, Butt, Harper). Couple of players from the academy level up to the reserves to backup in case of injuries. A new starting quality centreback and a left back would be a priority as well as backup player for Milner and Parker.
  20. Luis Felipe Scolari or Marcello Lippi would be great but can't see that happening... Anyway a manager with an attacking minded style of play is a must(which isn't Big Sam though)
  21. 4-1-3-2 formation as below Harper Solano Taylor Hunty Edgar Parker Milner Dyer N'Zogbia Owen Martins There's no point playing players who are expected to leave the club. Maybe one final chance for Gooch to prove himself though...
  22. So....not going to happen in other words! Anything what makes sense IRL goes upside down at Newcastle for the last decade
  23. Beezeri

    Double Swoop

Hyypiä doesn't want to leave! He knows he won't get too many games next season but he loves the club and is satisfied with a place on bench as well...and a decent wage for being such a humble fella
  24. Luque's wage must be somewhere around 50,000 a week at the least and I'm sure PSV won't be willing to pay that in full as their current top earner hardly makes half of that! Really bad deal for us as I think he's gone but still takes about 20-30,000 off our wages budget...
  25. Nolberto Solano! Easily the most consistent player and it's the main reason why he's ahead of Milner and Oba in my rank. Nobby's able to play various positions. Class act at the right back position this season despite the fact he's getting quite old and slow for Premier League. Nicky Butt??? C'moon..... Scott Parker for me any day
