I wish someone would ask him what he makes of Graeme Jones and what he's added to his coaching team. Genuine question, he obviously sees some value. Just interested to know what. (Bonus question would be does he feel he missed out by only having one of the Steves? (Harper))

Me too

We should have a table this season tracking the cost of each Grealish goal v the cost of each Almiron goal. No way Grealish wins!

Thanks for clearing that up about his accent. I thought they’d gotten Ricky Ponting to do the voiceover

James Maddison (now playing for Tottenham Hotspur)

This transfer has the feel of Trippier about it. All the journos are consistently pushing it like they actually have inside information. Fingers crossed in 2023 we’re singing “Tripps & Madders over the wall!” -
He’s the wrong type of interviewer for the job. Politicians and celebrities involved in scandals want someone like him to interview them. So it can appear like they’ve fronted up to the press whilst being in no danger at all of saying anything meaningful or of interest. I can just see him interviewing Bill Clinton in the 1990s: “So err Mr Clinton, with everything people are saying about you working with Ms Lewinski and your potential relationship with her, just tell us how nice it is to actually have a job?” (follow-up questions) “Has it always been your passion to work for your government?” “does it motivate you knowing you’re serving the people everyday?”

Lack of consistency is a harsh accusation when he was consistently in form under Howe for the last 9 months which included 6 months of us playing to Top 4 form.

So glad he’s not Scott McTominay

The most brazen amateur tactics and strategy you could hope to see. Talks as if the Carrick-Giggs midfield with a combined age of about 104 was prime Busquets-Xavi. Of curse Cabaye and Tiote could match them! They’d dominate that midfield in the right setup

When I read down the list and saw “Frank” I was like, wtf?! Lampard being this high, why? Then the anger subsided and I slowly realised it’s the Brentford chap. My bad

To be fair it’s terrible when it’s your keeper always wanting it! I used to get sick of shouting “stay in your box yuh nutter” to our keeper in the Under 13s team

Too true. Scouting players with eyes is so 1990s. Just get a few computer scientists to mine the data ffs and make a call!

Retaining him is the very definition of sandbagging. Quite why we want to slow our unstoppable March to football superiority I don’t know!

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/62749692 I would *love* to hijack this loan deal, especially after last night’s events!!

This guy’s career is why I have hope that Willock can turn i to a decent player. Some pros to continue to improve throughout their career so that in their late 20s they’re better than when in their early 20s. Phil Neville a classic example for me
-
In terms of potentially being a goal scoring midfielder, Joelinton started from a less promising position than Willock and lol at where he is. In 3 years time I’m hopeful Willock can be a big part of this squad and not go the Dele Alli route

This forum desperately needs a “love” button. Sometimes “like” just isn’t strong enough to reflect how I feel. I love this new Newcastle!!

Yeah, my only criticism of Howe is that he should've started Dubs as number 1 until the first week of September when the window closed. Then he could have let Pope replace him and we'd have 2 decent keepers until January, with Dubs thinking he has a fair crack at re-establishing number 1 as he started the season as number 1. Maybe Howe's just too honest and decent to be as calculating and cunning as me though. Plus he probably wants to try his utmost to gain points, which meant starting the season with Pope.

Unless it’s rugby, in which case they return the very next week!

OMG I forgot Big Jow!! Damn I’m in trouble!!!

Our 5 best players in 1 photo! (Sorry Matty T I’ve elevated Pope above you, it feels like a betrayal to me anarl!)

Wasn't the fastest man in the world ever pretty tall?
-
I’d say Raheem Sterling. Was a poor finisher at Liverpool and is still a little flaky now but generally solid.

The tactic if it is one is never going to work. If we’re successful this year then over the next 2 summers we will be aiming higher for our players, potentially buying players like Bellingham, Isak, Osimhen. As if their clubs are gonna say “oh we see you pussied out of paying an extra £5m for Pedro last summer, of course we will accept £60m for Isak instead of £80m.” Those clubs with big players will still say the same thing they’re saying this year: “pay up! (you loaded mutha******s!)”

I need a napkin. Dribbled and drooled as I slurped that shizz up
