  1. Depending on how much Beye and a left back cost I'd quite hapily pay up to £10m for Yobo
  2. Luque is being converted as we speak
  3. Arsenal have (according to SSN) agreed to buy the Croation/Brazilian Eduardo Da Silva from Zagreb. No mention of a fee and I know nowt about him so he could be a replacement for Henry or for Allialidere (sp).
  4. They could be going after an Espanyol player for all we know!
  5. Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
  6. This isn't about bringing in A Hughes to partner Taylor or Roze etc Its about a decent backup player for peanuts who can adequately provide third tier cover for 3 positions
  7. Too effing right! Not as a first choice (or even first reserve) but someone who can adequately fill in 3 positions for £1m.
  8. Sorry, but my opinion still stands, Spurs last season went backwards as a team. Yes you scored more goals, yes you played more games. But you were over reliant on Berbatov. If you could marry the Spurs team play from 05-06 with Berbatov 06-07 you would get top 4
  9. Spurs went backwards last season imo They only finished 5th due to Berbatov, the season prior they were a better 'team' with less reliance on any one individual. Arsenal are in danger of having a poor season unless they can reverse the downward momentum there atm Liverpool will bore their way to the top 4 but offe rno real challenge to the top 2 Villa will be dangerous but (unless they strengthen this summer) will fall short Citeh have too far to go to challenge the top 4 this year West Ham will be pushing for promotion from the Fizzy Pop league (If there's any justice in the world) Blackburn will be worse this season if they lose Benni, will be the same if they don't Portsmouth will struggle Everton will have a tough season (no money, no new signings imminent) Its there for the taking. It could be said that like Citeh we have too far to go in one year, but unlike Citeh I feel that we had better players than them last season and were hampered by a crap manager. Its unlikely, but top 4 here we come1
  10. Poor Aaron. What's he done to deserve this? Made his debut against Roma, you know. Um. Where else can you get a player like him with a brain and two feet? Uness Roma have moved to the Nou Camp i believe it was Barcelona who Aaron made his debut against
  11. I will get one person to agree with me!
  12. Bring Aaron Hughes home I'm starting the campaign!
  13. Lets say we get in the following: Rozenhal A N Other CB Luke Young (or similar RB) Wayne Bridge/ Leighton Baines Anyone else reckon getting AH back as a squad player would be good business for £1m or so? Personally I'd like to se ehim back, never good enough to be a regular in any one position but could fill in when needed and (this is the biggest plus for me) could fit in immediately and wouldn't need a run of 5 games or so before looking comfortable
  14. £13!?? You're right we would be stuffed!
  15. Just done a rough calc: Owen on £100k per week costs us £10.5m over 2 years Add the £9m fee touted around would 'save' us £19.5 m Bent at £15m and wages of £50k per week on a 4 year contract costs us £25.5m in total. Is the extra 6 million worth it if we get a player who would be committed and likely to improve? Personally I'd do it if we can get a buyer, I honestly think Bent could be the new Les Ferdinand for us
  16. If he goes to City... (a) He will be plying for Man City (b) He will be managed by Sven © He may be partnered by one off Samaras, Corradi, Vassell or Dickov Shirley thats punishment enough??
  17. http://icnewcastle.icnetwork.co.uk/newcastleunited/chroniclesport/tm_headline=freddy%2D%2D8217%2Ds-joy-at-owen-deal%26method=full%26objectid=19352489%26siteid=50081-name_page.html Compo that is. Looks like Fred managed to get a settlement then. Nice boost to the coffers
  18. Why? Buying, selling & negotiating are his main strengths. Football people kid the world that what they do special & unique & it is, they operate in a billion pound industry where most of the business are in debt Why? Simple. Allerdyce is picking the team and therefore picks the players he wants to fit into that team. Unless Ashley is also planning to manage the team he is passing the responsibility of choosing the transfer targets to Sam (who then may wish to further delegate to a DoF - but thats a different matter). Its what Fred has been (quite rightly) lambasted for. Ashley should set the budget and sign the cheque
  19. Everytime i read the thread title I just see 'Agent Rozenhal' 'Bout time we had a defensive general type player
  20. It's not like Shepherd will have much power now. I imagine all player purchases, contracts, etc. will have to go through Ashley for approval. Tbh Ashley shouldn't get anywhere near authorising purchases. Sam should be told you have £xmillion to cover transfer and signing on fees and you have an annual wage budget of £xmillion. Use it as you see fit. This is where a Dein type figure comes in to sort out the fees and wages. We need the manager on the training pitch, not arguing over the last £1k per week on a contract all day. Similarly we don't need the chairman to be making and breaking transfers
