  1. It's normal for Spanish players to have release clauses isn't it? I'd imagine the clauses are linked to contract value and doubt Perez is on that much per week hence the low fee
  2. jesus christ isn't that what Ronaldo went for? Honestly football needs a crash quickly because these kind of fees for a good but hardly great player is beyond a joke If it was just the fees then there wouldn't be a problem as it becomes irrelevant as the money just moves in a circle. They become a problem when agents and owners take high percentages out of the game so selling clubs don't get to benefit and reinvest
  3. It seems that(in the Caulkin interview) Rafa was kept as much in the dark about proceedings as we were. Perhaps he had no idea whether the takeover was legit or not and rather than hang around, like us, and wait, took the Chinese offer which was too good an offer to refuse. It is fairly safe to take it as the takeover not being at a completed stage last Monday when Rafa informed the cloob that he would't be staying. He's a man of his word and any agreement made with the Chinese club in the last week will be binding to him and even if BZG had approached him today with news that it is going to happen there would be no coming back. How I see it anyway.
  4. If they do this it will be a precursor to them publicly withdrawing. No way they can comment on matters like this under the NDA
  5. I get him wanting to leave, I get that he should get out of dodge for the benefit of his career, but is Man U really the right place now? There is a huge risk that the OGS experiment will lead to the worst Man U team in the Premier League era. Leicester or Wolves (or that type of club) would surely be a better move for him
  6. Well the takeover is dragging on a bit
  7. Which leads me to think that he was betting on one of Rafa staying or the takeover happening
  8. Hands up, I saw Monochrome but not project and assumed it was Monochrome limited. I retract my previous comment and apologise for any distress this mistake may have caused
  9. I'm calling bull. Monochrome was set up after the heads of terms was allegedly agreed was it not?
  10. Backlash as in what? Sitting on our hands in polite silence
  11. Actually think MLS will be our next mass shopping ground
  12. Would laugh if it was Charnley getting back at us. As if thumbheed could photoshop To be fair, did you see it? Photoshop is generous, was barely MS Paint And thumbheed thinks MSPaint involves colouring in his screen with Crayola crayons
  13. Rafa did though I think it’s pretty obvious now that the experiment won’t be repeated. Given the Odin situation, I realise that nobody will believe anything now, but i’ve heard a tiny little rumour that the replacement is already sorted, and was weeks ago. Wouldn't surprise me, wasn't Pardew lined up a few weeks before Houghton was sacked.
  14. Would laugh if it was Charnley getting back at us. As if thumbheed could photoshop
  15. Let me go ahead and answer that right now for you: no. It's so bloody simple man. These younger head coach types, should be the easiest to get considering the profile of the club. We are again seeing Vieira, Gattuso and even Van Bronckhorst being linked and said to be interested, and these fit that mould. It would be so crazy if we see someone like Monk come in. How many times can they possibly screw this up for goodness sake. There is one constant in the managers Ashley has employed and that is experience. He won't go for a younger manager, rather he'll fall into the trap of seeing someone who has been sacked 6 times as having the right experience in the game.
  16. If only leaving Sky was so easy. I can take that response one of 3 ways - (1) they are as pissed as we all are with Rafa going, (2) direction from above is don't bother with retentions as we're off, (3) Ashley is a cunt
  17. Yeah I'm struggling to see why Rafa would head for another job unless he knew there wasn't a takeover happening. I don't buy the argument that the new owners might not want him. It makes absolutely no sense. From a cold outsider point of view... you are buying a club and want the quickest route to success. Do you take Rafa who is a pragmatist and who's methods take time or Jose who gets an instant impact? Cold view remember, no thought on connection with the crowd etc just quickest impact. I can see why someone would think that, even though I don't agree with it.
  18. Custard Cream is more of a reliable holding midfield biscuit and I'd worry that Malted Milk is a little light weight upfront. Otherwise like the look of that
  19. - Grab can of Coke from fridge (other fizzy pop varieties just as effective) - Open Can - Drink
  20. Are people happy to have Gingerbread men in with the biscuit? If so top 5 5. Chocolate Hobnob 4. Fox's Classic 3. The humble custard cream 2. Gingerbread Man 1. Fox's Crunch Cream
  21. Not if it's anything like your username. Your username on the other hand...
  22. Well the topic now has a key change akin to a Westlife song
  23. Changing the date not significant in itself, the 30th June is an odd date to choose but would fit for a football club
