  1. Yep. From last January................... Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand handed extended ban for ‘frivolous’ appeal Rio Ferdinand's decision to contest a Football Association violent conduct charge backfired on Thursday when he received a four-match ban for striking Hull City’s Craig Fagan. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/manchester-united/7093338/Manchester-United-defender-Rio-Ferdinand-handed-extended-ban-for-frivolous-appeal.html
  2. Don't think Levy won't be buying anybody until Redknapp offloads Bentley, Keane etc, all the rumours seem to be loans with options to buy in the summer. Being widely reported that Benzema is the #1 option, I can't see it happening personally. Mourinho has already said Benzema is going nowhere and is becoming an important player for him, cant see Spurs(or anyone for that matter) getting him in the next 18 months minimum tbh. Spurs have a pretty good relationship with Real and Mourinho was a guest at Levy's last birthday bash. Phil McNulty is saying on Twitter that the deal to take Lukaku to Real Madrid will be done in January. McNulty tends to give it out when he's confident that it will happen and I think Mourinho would see Lukaku as a young Drogba than Benzema. Maybe Benzema will become available, Redknapp would certainly be trying to get him if he did. Highly likely that he will go elsewhere though, probably Man Utd as Fergie is a self confessed admirer but I wouldn't have thought Spurs would get Van der Vaart for £8m either. Think Bentley is near certain to go to Fulham on loan.
  3. Keane would, Bentley I debate, he looks really low on confidence he needs a smaller club to raise his profile again. Smaller club than us? I doubt he'd move to a smaller club than us and he'd easily be the best winger at our club if he left. Back to Blackburn or someone like that. He needs somewhere with less pressure, playing for us at home especially can be quite intense, he needs to be the big fish in a small pond something he wouldn't be. Fulham on loan would be my random guess.

    Vuckic

I was thinking about this before. Although the likes of Ranger and Vuckic dont really play much of a role for us, they are bench fillers in a thin squad and provide protection incase of a serious injury crisis. I'd love to see both or even one of them out on loan but the make up of our squad might be a bit too fragile. Get some experienced players in on loan or free transfers? Better to get a short term solution to the squad numbers and let the promising youngsters get out on loan and get game time. Arsenal are historically the best example of getting the youngsters out on loan and letting them come back much improved players.

  6. Sky are now raking over it, Dermot Gallacher chipping in his two pennyworth, FA charge to follow in due course. Now being reported on Sky that FA are reviewing the video evidence. I must be psychic!!

    Vuckic

Season long loans to a Championship team would seem more logical. Kids need playing time to improve, not watching others If a youngster can't establish himself as a regular starter in the Championship, he's probably not good enough to get 10 minutes in the Premier League.

  9. Looking more and more likely that Spurs will make the move to the Olympic Stadium at Stratford with their Partnership with AEG. The West Ham bid needs the Newham Council to lend them £150m to complete the refurbishment after the Olympics have finished, money the Council doesn't have and I would guess would be loathe to borrow. Local MP tweets the realisation that Levy is serious about moving out and the Olympic Inspector says that the Athletics Legacy doesn't necessarily have to be in the Olympic Park, Spurs are looking to do up Crystal Palace. Can't say I'll be happy if it happens but the Olympic option is said to be over £200m cheaper. http://www.morethanthegames.co.uk/football/1813283-london-2012-spurs-deadly-serious-with-olympic-stadium-bid-says-tottenham-mp http://www.itv.com/london/
  10. With all the goals Keane and Crouch are scoring, just as well VDV's deal did go through.
  11. It went on the Official Site this morning and was taken down about half hour later, don't know why as the pre-contract agreement was signed a few days ago. The Partnerships that Spurs signed into seem to be working well, Sandro came through the partnership with Internacional.
  12. spurs also gone for it too which is odd considering they got planning permission for their stadium Levy doesn't want to be held over a barrel by Boris Johnson or by contractors. Boris wants Spurs to pay a few million to improve the public transport in the area over and above what Spurs are already paying and wants council houses funded by Spurs in addition to the 400 odd flats Spurs will be building. Putting our name in the hat for the Olympic Stadium (the closing date was yesterday) gives Levy an alternative option though it is very much a Plan B.
  13. Haringey Council unanimously approved Spurs' application for the new stadium last night. Now has to be rubberstamped by Boris Johnson in the next two weeks before the work can start .

    Sports Direct

The stadium next to the one that used to be called Highbury is absolutely plastered with corporate advertising for Emirates and even named after them (whatever next !) and it's one of the best looking arenas in Europe. Just sounds like a few Newcastle fans being up their own arse again about how special THEIR stadium is. (Which of course it is) Benny - Arsenal are getting £100 million from there sponsor. http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2004/oct/05/business.marketingandpr How much are we getting from Sportsdirect? Remember is Ashley is not Sportsdirect. I am sure if Microsoft, Tesco or Ronald McDonald came along with mega wedge most fans would buy into it but atm like most people I would be surprised if were getting decent coin from Sportsdirect. Arsenal got £100m for stadium naming rights AND shirt sponsorship for 15 years. They massively undersold, never got close to what they should have received bearing in mind shirt deals alone are going at around £15m (or more in Liverpool's case). Even allowing for the fact that it is not a new stadium, I would have thought that £10m pa for the stadium naming rights could be achievable, particularly bearing in mind the iconic nature of the stadium.
  15. Portugal have amassed 1 point from their first two extremely difficult qualifiers Something in that camp can't be right
  16. Unless the law has changed in the past couple of years, that's not right. I got back £18k from a couple that emigrated to NZ. They had £60k+ of finance debt but hey, something's better than nothing.
  17. Redknapp must be intending to use VDV in the way he was going to use Joe Cole, which isn't really an answer as no one could really see how he would fit in either. The good thing is that VDV is a significant upgrade on Cole and cost what Cole wanted as a signing on fee. Redknapp says he sees Bale as the best attacking LB in the world within 2 years so moving him to LB seems likely even though he is nowhere near being the best defensive LB. The head scout says that he expects Sandro to be the 1st choice defensive MF by the end of the season. He'll still have to settle into a completely new culture in a different country so that may be tough for him, but regular call ups to the Brazil squad suggests more ability than Palacios getting called up for Honduras. Palacios can't get called up by Brazil though But Sandro can, and is, being called up by Brazil though. Whether he'll be first choice ahead of Palacios this season I somehow doubt. Having said that, I've only seen Sandro play on the net at 2 on the morning!

  19. Also from Ajax, El Hamdaoui, he's been quality; how come he wasn't given a go at you lot KD? Couldn't settle in England, wanted to go back to Holland. Being loaned to Derby, dislocating his shoulder twice and doing his knee didn't help either. Arnesen said he would become a world class striker, going over the top a bit, but no doubt Mounir has got talent.
  20. Carroll, Vukic, Ranger, Gosling and Kadar are the only ones from that list likely to make appearances imo. The rest would possibly be in line if we have freak injury problems, a few already turned out against Accrington. Thanks
  21. Newcastle United - Under 21 players (Contract and Scholars) Adjei, Samuel Airey, Philip Alnwick, Jak Ameobi, Samuel Carroll, Andrew Thomas Donaldson, Ryan Mark Dummett, Paul Edmundsson, Joan Simun Evans, Nathan Ferguson, Shane Kevin Folan, Stephen Gosling, Daniel Grieve, Matthew Andrias Henderson, Liam Alexander Henderson, Jeffrey Hoganson, Michael George Inman, Bradden Ions, William Kadar, Tamas Knight, Dennis Peter Lualua, Kazenga Maddison, Marcus Harley McDermott, Greg McGorrigan, Ryan Anthony McLaughlin, Patrick Joseph Mogwo, Andy Newton, Conor Nicholson, Alex Jack Nzuzi, Patrick Nime Page, Ryan James Ranger, Nile Richardson, Michael Riley, Michael Liam Robinson, Benjamin Gary Sayer, Ben Smith, Jamie Paul Soderberg, Ole Petter Spear, Aaron Robert Storey, Louis Alan Tavernier, James Henry Taylor, Daniel Scott Toland, Lee Tozer, Ben Peter Anthony Vuckic, Haris Zamblera, Fabio These are your u21's that have been registered. Which ones do you reckon will make the first team squad during the season?
  22. We bid about 3 weeks ago and got as much encouragement as we did for Bellamy. Just the type of player we need but it's not going to happen. Levy flew to Italy early yesterday, don't know why, but all too late in my opinion, should have been doing this long before now.
  23. No, there was quite a big deal being made last night about Levy was pulling out, wasn't going to pay over the odds, blah blah blah........... The truth is closer to the transfer window strategy falling apart at the seams, Fabiano, Suarez, Huntelaar, Forlan and Rossi have all been put forward as striking options and Parker, Young, Muntari, Lassana Diarra as assorted MF choices. The strain is getting to Redknapp....................... http://www.footballtransfertavern.com/2010/08/premiership/redknapp-tells-sky-presenter-to-f-off-as-pressure-mounts-video?
  24. Btw it looks like we've signed that useless turd Muntari...what a f***ing farce. why would you sign him? We need a creative midfielder imo...but not the misplaced pass king. This guy is totally useless. What a joke, what a f***ing joke. Sulley muntari? i'd rather Jenas and his invisible act thanks. What happen to Sandros ? Tom Huddlestone Jermaine Jenas Wilson Palacios Luka Modrić Niko Kranjčar Jamie O'Hara + Sulley Muntari Stockpiling for stock piling sake ? Arrived today. http://twitpic.com/2jfq3k Makes Hudd look like a lightweight!
  25. I have to say, some of the views on this forum are crazy if they don't think Keane would be a positive signing! Damien Duff was a positive signing at the time, doesn't always work out. But yeah I'd take him if it was on a loan, scores goals. It would be a loan with an option to buy. Keane would be ok with that but would prefer returning to Celtic. Celtic haven't offered as much as the loan fee + option figure from Newcastle, Spurs won't agree a deal with Celtic until they match Newcastle's total offer. Looks very much like a last day deal. My guess is that Celtic won't come up with extra money and Keane will go to Newcastle on loan, but that's only a guess. Highly unlikely he'll stay at Spurs though, even if Crouch is injured, that's what I heard.
