Hughton has done a superb job for you this season, better than I would have expected as most Spurs fans saw him as a top quality coach with no aspiration to become a manager. I think Colin Calderwood's importance to the management team is probably underestimated though. He did a superb job with Spurs' development squad (fringe 1st team squad + best of the youngsters) and Spurs tried hard to talk him out of taking his 1st management job at Northampton. He will be a top quality manager sometime in the future (in my opinion).

Probably. Danielle's up the duff and I can't imagine her wanting to move out of London anyway.

Arsenal have apparently part bought Wellington Silva to be fully completed in Jan 2011. http://youngguns.wordpress.com/2009/12/31/arsenal-complete-wellington-silva-signing/

Steven Caulker, Jon Obika and Ryan Mason now on loan to Yeovil till the end of the season. All had originally been 1 month loans. John Bostock on loan to Brentford for an initial 1 month. Andros Townsend has his loan to Leyton Orient extended till January. Even with Danny Rose and David Button recalled from Peterborough and Crewe respectively, Spurs have still got 17 players out on loan (by my reckoning).

Taarabt has never learnt when to pass the ball and I'm doubting now that he ever will. I would add Zavon Hines from West Ham and Ryan Mason, Steven Caulker and Jon Obika from Spurs who are all on loan at Yeovil, and along with Bostock are all in the England u19 squad playing next week.

If that central defender on £30k pw makes a significant contribution to getting promoted, surely that is value for money. Add to that the fact that Taylor could learn a great deal, I'd say he would be a good signing for you.

Has there ever been a successful renaming of an existing stadium? I can't readily think of one. Naming rights work only when it's not trying to replace an existing name. Ashburton Grove may become well known in the future but until then it'll always be known as the Emirates. To all football fans SJP is Newcastle's stadium, always has been, always will be.

I reckon he's coming here. My guess is he will be Dein's replacement before the start of next season. Dean Parrett on loan to Aldershot. Both Bale and Dos Santos played in a behind doors friendly against QPR, both rumoured to be loaned out soon.

Duffen was on SSN saying all the talk about other strikers was rumour and speculation coming from agents and media. JVoH was obviously first choice...................

The rules on loan deals now the transfer window has closed

He was until he did his cruciate. Since then I don't think he has anything like the same level of mobility that he had before. Commanding in the air still but pace is important. Overall, I'm not convinced he will make in the Premier League, it's too quick for him. Widely rumoured that he will be going back to France this time next year when he's out of contract. -

Being said on Spurs forum that Championship sides can do loans till the end of the month but I've no idea how that ties in with 'emergencies'. Anyway, Danny Rose said to be 'highly likely' to go on loan to Newcastle, as is Dorian Dervite subject to the fitness of our CB's. As Woody and Daws are now back in full training, the suggestion is that DD could move to SJP at the end of the month. -
Seems like Bale will be going on loan to QPR when fit. QPR are also trying to sign Beckford.

Newcastle United 1 - 0 Leicester City - 31/08/09 - post match reaction from p22

Seen enough to make me believe you'll be be back in the Premier League next season. A good Newcastle team is far better for the league than Bolton, Hull, Wolves, Stoke etc etc anyway. -
For £2m. Bargain! Looks like Bentley is on his way to City, Levy's looking for £14m + Petrov going in the opposite direction. Burnley want Alnwick. Good. Muntari and JJ swap isn't going to happen this window. Sandro won't happen this window either Chavez will probably sign next week. Apparently that's ok as his trial started before the window closed.
-
Even with Modric fubared? Bentley could do a job for Tottenham now. Bids are in for Krancjar and Petrov, nothing agreed yet. Another bid for Muntari, straight cash, Mourinho wants JJ included, Osman Chavez said to be joining on loan. If that lot is true, and it's not being said by just one person, then Arry really has got his wheeling and dealing hat on. Oh, also being said Gio is going back to Ipswich. No official statement but the OS is listing him as gone for a second spell for 09/10 season. Stop. right. there. You must be the worlds biggest f***ing dunce if for ONE MINUTE you actually buy the medias bullshit claims about Arry being a "real ducker and diver in the transfer market who can wheel and deal some bargains". He's spaffed a f***ing mountain of cash up the wall at Spurs and no-one ever seems to notice it. I mean, the likes of Bassong £10m, Palacios £12m, Defoe £8m(?), Keane £14m, Chimbonda £2m, Crouch £11m must have involved some real ducking and diving. But he's a real wheeler dealer, gets some cheap bargains in does Arry. He's spaffed stupid amounts of money up the wall on s*** players for a while now, he does make some good buys but this whole wheeler dealer image is a load of cobblers. Let's also not forget the purchase of Utaka for £6m whilst at Pompey who was, and still is, f***ing clueless. Redknapp's spending pretty much sunk Portsmouth as well, look at where they are now after his big signing spree down there. They have made a profit on pretty much every player he signed though isn't that right? not to mention winning the FA Cup. Bankrupted them with wages. Storrie said he completed transfers after the players had been identified by Redknapp, presumably that included Storrie agreeing wages etc. Anyway, it would all be academic with regard to Spurs as Levy has total control of the purse strings. The cost of the new stadium may bankrupt Spurs but players' wages won't. Incidentally, L'Equipe are reporting that Spurs have offered €6m plus Jenas for Muntari. I'd be happy with that. http://www.lequipe.fr/Allos/TRANSFERT.html

Any figures for them bids? £4, 5 or £7m for Krancjar (saying he's out of contract in the summer) Loan for Petrov with a small fee to buy. Muntari £10 or 12m ................. depending on who says what.

Being said on the forums that Bentley could be a Villa player by this time tomorrow..........

Quite possibly judging from what JOH's uncle has been saying on one of the forums. The only way we could get shot of KPBoateng was to let Pompey have JOH on loan as well. Up until then, the plan was that he would go out on loan elsewhere at the end of the window. That doesn't say it would have been Newcastle but it does sort of tie in with what has been said here.

Maybe the reason Levy has been in Brazil is.................... http://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/news/articles/tottenhamhotspurfootballclubandsportclubinternacionalannouncestrategicpartnership.html The Club is delighted to announce that it has concluded a strategic partnership with Brazilian club Sport Club Internacional for the purposes of working together to develop players for both the Club and other European Leagues. Announcing the agreement, Chairman Daniel Levy said: "As we look to take the Club forward it will be increasingly important that we are able to track and develop emerging talented players. This co-operation between our two clubs, which will see an exchange of coaching methodologies as well as exchange visits, means that we shall be able to effect the placement and development of players from Brazil and South America with both ourselves or other European Leagues. It is an exciting partnership and opportunity for us and we look forward to working with Inter." Inter has a strong track record of developing players - the likes of Alexandre Pato, Nilmar, Fabio Rochemback, Lucio, Daniel Carvalho, Luis Adriano and Rodrigo Possebon all stemmed from Inter. This new partnership complements our existing international partnerships in the US and South Africa with San Jose Earthquakes and Supersport United respectively. SC Internacional's Chairman, Vittorio Piffero, said: "This strategic partnership between two globally renowned clubs is an innovation in Brazilian football and will result not only in the exchange of youth players, but also in a comprehensive development of the Porto Alegre-based club by sharing expertise in areas such as marketing, promotions, trade opportunities, media and public relations." Internacional may now be more receptive to a loan deal with an option to buy on the end. Also, O'Hara's uncle posted on a Spurs forum this afternoon to say that JOH was being loaned out to Portsmouth after having signed a new 4 year contract this morning. Arry Giving JOH game time and helping out one of his old clubs at the same time I'd guess.

Surprised anyone would seriously believe that Levy would be paying Bale anything like £45k when O'Hara gets £8k and Hudd £18k and Spurs' salary/turnover ratio is something like 44%. Has bale told you if hes joining us big man? I was told at the first game of the season that Bale was still at least a month away. He hasn't played this season, I think I'm right in saying he never played at all in pre-season. Even if he was now injury free, he'd still be miles behind in fitness levels. But if he had been playing you'd have 0 points this season. We can get draws when Bale plays so 3 if we were lucky!!

Think you might find that to be wishful thinking.
