QPR vs Newcastle Utd - 12/05/13 @ 3pm (No TV) - a win confirms safety
binnsy replied to TaylorJ_01's topic in Football
I'd go with same team as today apart from Sissoko replacing Jonas, would resist the temptation of putting Debuchy in bearing in mind we have kept a clean sheet today and Simpson done well. Sadly its also got to the stage where not only do we need to win but win well, could really do with a 2 or 3 goal win(unlikely) after our GD went tits up in the last month, the liverpool game was like getting minus points!! -
we wouldn't be having the discussion of whether the linesman got it right or wrong if Cisse has made decent contact with the ball, he simply has to be putting chances like that and the one on one he missed at WBA in the back of the net.
-
i really can't see the problem and wouldn't have batted an eyelid if Ben Arfa had went to a gym wearing a PSG shirt. He is from Paris and everyone knows he supports PSG, so what if he wears one of their strips.
-
we could really do with Carroll crashing into Nolan in training on Friday, clash of heads causing both to miss out with concussion!! :-)
-
Wigan have been playing really well and were unlucky against Man City, Spurs and West Ham. If anybody thinks we're safe they should be certified. could be a good thing in a way though as can't be doing there confidence much good that they keep playing well but fail to get the win.
-
Williamson played well against Benfica, after the way Saylor and MYM have played in the last couple of games i wouldn't be bothered in the slightest if Williamson comes in next week.
-
i can't help but think back to the Wigan away game, not so much the Hadaira tackle which should have seen a red which probably would have seen a different game but the handball that the officials missed is so costly to us. We would be now sitting with 38 points but Wigan would be stuck on 30. 8 points clear with them playing Villa last game would surely have seen us safe now.
-
All the goals were horrendous but especially the 3rd, 4th and 6th.
-
wouldn't want Anita in the team against West Ham, will be a total mis match him up against Diame in the middle of the park and if he was to play full back big Sam would soon target him and you'd see them hitting diagonal balls up to him and AC wouldn't even have to jump to head them down for the likes of Nolan.
-
he was horrendous yesterday, actually could have picked up a 2nd yellow 20 seconds earlier for the foul on the halfway line, they take the free kick down the line and he stupidly dives in and gets sent off ruling him out of a huge game next week. luckily the ref gave him a 2nd yellow instead of a straight red so he will be available for the last 2 games.

don't see much wrong with what Steve Wraith has said in that interview, don't fully agree with him but think his opinion of why he shouldn't be sacked are the standard reasons.... he wasn't backed in the summer, is 3 games to go too late, possibly, do you become a bad manager overnight etc People in the media are naturally going to go and ask his opinion due to his work, being friends with most of the media who approach his for a soundbite and being a fanzine editor. He is perfectly entitled to give his opinion on the current state of the club without being labelled cunt just cos you don't agree with his point of view...

Wigan and Villa look to attack and both score goals, which is a help at this stage of the season! Stoke were nosediving but back to back wins as them safe now

sunderland sadly

been abysmal for weeks, don't think Pardew can be blamed for the lad not being able to control and pass a football. Keep reading that he hasn't been played in his position (what is his position?) but he looked a world beater in those first 3 or 4 games and most recent games he has still been played in that same role behind Cisse.

How do we go about getting a new manager 10 to 12 games into the season? Someone will be available, happens every season, not my ideal scenario but can see it panning out that way. Ashley will keep AP but if we have bad start and crowd turns and pressure mounts then he will be sacked or quit. Obviously the best scenario is a new manager comes in during the summer and builds own team etc.
-
Today has finished him for me with that starting 11 in a must win game, still can't understand how he can send out such a negative lineup in a game that we need to win or at least get a point. In fact no NUFC manager should ever be setting up a NUFC team that negative and with the aim of getting a point in ANY home game. While i have not exactly been 100% pro Pardew i had been against the anti Pardew brigade who have been wanting him out for weeks/months, mainly cos i wasn't sure that i could see an alternative that Ashley/Llambias would bring in who would be better. I still can't see him being sacked with only 3 games left and will stick to my original opinion that he will have 10-12 games to save his NUFC career at the beginning of the season, start well and be in the top 8 and Ashley will keep faith, get a bad start and Ashley will get rid.
-
Why not? A decent manager wouldn't be planning on getting sacked. I'm not sure many managers (or more importantly their agent) would think like that though. probably right, football management seems to be the only job that's sees you get handsomely rewarded for failure, how much have the likes of fat sam, hughes, McLeish etc pocketed for doing crap jobs....
-
sitting here on Thursday and everyone probably knows and accepts that he can't/won't play or last for 90 mins but imagine the fury and bad reaction should he come off after 65-70 mins and its 1-1 or god forbid we are 1-0 down......
-
Rodgers should probably have kept quiet but I do think 10 games is a bit excessive bearing mind the only similar incident in this country was Defoe and he only got a yellow card. From a booking to a ten game ban is a canny jump.
-
Not yet, do you want to be the first to do so? well i might as well, in the last 2 weeks he has been blamed for everything else! :-)
-
Has Pardew been blamed for Cisse's cracked rib yet on here?

Newcastle United vs Liverpool - 27/04/2013 @ 5.30pm (ESPN)

the team is low on confidence and not playing well i think we would be much better off going back to basics and putting round pegs in rounds holes by putting players in their right positions rather than experimenting in such a big game. -
why on earth would you?? His delivery and final ball is just as bad if not worse than Jonas. He bombs forward great but gets 30 yards from the opposition goal and never (well has a couple of times) finds a B&W shirt. I don't understand why people think its a good idea.

Inspirational. Sadly though he is correct, we have got into a position where with 4 games to go we have to make sure we survive and if that ends up being 4th bottom and surviving on GD then so be it
