  1. denied by Perez Real Madrid C.F. Due to current reports in the media Real Madrid’s captains would like to communicate the following: 1. That in the meeting held on Tuesday with the club’s President and Director General there was no ultimatum from us regarding our coach. 2. As squad captains and members of an excellent group of people and professionals we categorically reject the use of our names or any of the rest of our squad in support of any such information that we label in its entirety as false. 3. We want to show our support for our coach, Jose Mourinho, for whom we have the greatest respect. 4. Finally, we wish to convey to all Real Madrid club members and followers our unwavering conviction that only through the unity of everyone connected with Real Madrid will we overcome, as always, all of the challenges that we face each season.
  2. We are a springboard club tbh. If you excel at Newcastle, you'll probably want to join a club that is accustomed to winning things and spending loads more on wages. It's true of Arsenal too. here`s the link http://www.talksport.co.uk/radio/sports-breakfast/130124/philippe-auclair-runs-rule-over-newcastles-latest-french-buys-190021?
  3. Thought I'd create a thread to about the French players in general since we have gathered a bit of a legion! For me I'm not too concerned about the number we have....didn't do Arsenal much harm before and overall they're value of money....compared to overpriced English players (Derby wanting well over 10m for Will Hughes, Zaha 15m+ add ons if reports are correct). We just bought potentially 3-4 for the price of one Championship English player....it would be nice to have a few English lads but not for the insane prices bandied about. Houllier / Tigana and ex mackem c*** Malbranque have said it will be a problem however with so many French. Agree/disagree? ============= Newcastle French invasion a problem - Malbranque Veteran Lyon midfielder Steed Malbranque, who spent a decade in England earlier in his career, said on Wednesday that the large colony of French players at Newcastle will be a problem for the Premier League club. "It will be a problem, I think, because without meaning to, at the beginning, the French players will stick with each other," Malbranque told a press conference here. "If some of them don't speak any English then they will only talk to the other Frenchmen. "That could lead to the creation of cliques and could create problems in the squad. I hope not for them but there is a risk." Newcastle, who are currently struggling in 16th place in the Premier League table, completed the signing of France centre-back Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa from Montpellier on Tuesday, and also closed in on a deal for Nancy full-back Massadio Haidara. In addition, Bordeaux striker Yoan Gouffran announced on Twitter on Tuesday that he was set to move to Tyneside. That would take the number of French players in Alan Pardew's squad to ten, while Cheick Tiote, Gael Bigirimana and Papiss Cisse are also French speakers. Malbranque, who turned 33 earlier this month, enjoyed a successful spell in England with Fulham, Tottenham Hotspur and Sunderland before returning to France in 2011 and then rejoining his first club, Lyon, at the beginning of this campaign. He formed part of a large colony of French players at Fulham under French coach Jean Tigana and said the onus is on Pardew to bring the squad together. "At Fulham, we didn't have any major problems, but it is true that we French often kept to ourselves," he said. "There was a little bit of tension, but once the French coach left things were different. "The coach must fix the rules. Tigana made us speak English to the other French players to show the English guys that we were making the effort. "There were little things like that. I don't know Alan Pardew, but if there are no rules then there will be problems." Malbranque knows the north-east of England well after his spell with Newcastle's local rivals Sunderland, and he joked that the new recruits will need time to adjust to the climate. "They are going to be cold! It will be tough! The atmosphere in Newcastle is good but they will still feel the cold."
  4. Maybe Boca Juniors as he played for them ..albeit briefly.....they have a few good players we could do a swap deal with if he really wants to get away that badly in the summer.... Or Velez Sarsfield , also a Buenos Aires club...Facundo Ferreyra seems to be scoring a plenty and we were linked with him in the past and Gino Peruzzi a good up and coming defender....both EU passports. San Lorenzo can fck off with the way they`ve carried on...
  5. I`m not sure if it`s been posted in another thread but Julien Laurens, Football reporter for French newspaper Le Parisien was on Talksport yesterday and spoke positively about all the players we have signed/are signing as well as HBA being 200% committed to us. http://www.talksport.co.uk/radio/hawksbee-and-jacobs/130122/laurens-newcastle’s-transfer-targets-189887?
  6. I said earlier in the thread a player called Alan Ruiz...hugely talented midfielder...definitely one for the future.... Tim Vickery the respected South American football expert also said that there are around 4-5 players of their top players who are good enough for the squad here at least. If there is the issue of work permits, then they could be loaned out to Spanish/Italian clubs whereby we keep the registration to sell them on for profits if the issue arises. That seems the only workaround seeing as San Lorenzo have bugger all in cash.
  7. one of the latest stories in newsnow feed so not sure if it`s been posted here / rehashed story Nancy confirm Haidara deal Last Updated: January 22, 2013 8:56am French side Nancy have confirmed that a deal has been agreed with Newcastle for Massadio Haidara. The 20-year-old France Under-21 international full-back is now on his way to England for a medical ahead of concluding a deal. Nancy revealed the news on their website, confirming that a deal was in place with Newcastle. A statement read: "After 46 games and two-and-a-half years in the Nancy shirt, Massadio Haidara is leaving his former club for Newcastle United, currently sixteenth in the Premier League. "The two clubs have reached an agreement and will finalise the transfer on Tuesday." http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11678/8422160?
  8. Unless they decide to sleep in Hopefully we have the Playstation set up at least
  9. Tim Vickery on the world football phone in was saying that if they really do want Colo and have no money then we should at the very least demand 5 of their best players. Some of them are very good and could jump into the first team according to him or at least get them to arrange loan deals to Spanish/Italian clubs whereby we keep the registrations of the players to sell them on in the future (or have them here later if they qualify for EU passports). Not gonna happen like
  10. I don't think Fergie coaches the skill out of his players, in fact most under his tutelage improve a great deal technically - albeit that technical ability is put to an ultra-efficient, practical use. So he definitely counts effectiveness over flair. I used to love watching Anderson in his Porto days....proper attacking midfielder, bags of skill ,could go past players, shoot.....since he went to Man U he`s been turned into a defensive midfielder and a shadow of his former self. I don`t believe it`s all down to injuries too.
  11. Does he speak French? Nay? f*** him. Taiwo? He`s spent 5-6 seasons at Marseille give or take a loan or 2 ...so his French is canny good
  12. I`ve got a feeling PSG will win this 0-1 with Zlatan scoring the winner
  13. linked with Belhanda in the Daily Mail now
  14. picked up by ESPN.....using the same sources as L`equipe Toulouse midfielder Moussa Sissoko is likely to become the latest France international to join Newcastle United, L'Equipe has reported. Sissoko, 22, is out of contract with the Ligue 1 club next summer. He had initially seemed destined for a move to Marseille or Monaco, but has reportedly made clear that he intends to join the likes of Hatem Ben Arfa, Yohan Cabaye and Mathieu Debuchy at St. James's Park. Negotiations between Sissoko's representatives and Newcastle officials are scheduled for Wednesday, though L'Equipe also says the player's agent is in London for talks with Queens Park Rangers. While his destination remains unclear, it is certain that Sissoko, who played in Toulouse's 2-1 win over Nancy on Saturday night, is on his way out of the club he joined in 2003. "Moussa Sissoko has three choices: extend his contract with Toulouse, leave this winter or stay on the bench until June," club president Olivier Sadran told BeIN Sport. "If he extends his contract, he'll have the chance to leave at the end of the season with a very big bonus. There are offers from Marseille and Monaco, and some English clubs are trying to get involved. If he doesn't decide quickly, I'll take a decision." http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story/_/id/1307430?&cc=4716
  15. so is Ole Gunnar Solskjær....still did ok in his playing career....
  16. asked on one of the Arsenal forums how likely they`ll be in for him ........and they`re pretty sure Wenger wont bid for him as they rotate their 3 main centre backs already.......hopefully that stays the case. Now for Redtw@t to piss off......
  17. Always signed Litmanen in Champ Man 96/97 back in the day ....scored crap load of goals as an attacking midfielder Agree about JL in a Keegan side ......was linked to us in the SBR days actually Ayala? Oustanding at Valencia but pretty mediocre at Napoli and Milan
  18. Thank god we don't know what that feels like! aye and Mbiwa is their captain and top central defender too!
  19. same here but I doubt they'd loan him to one of their 'relegation rivals'............they're just gonna have to pay him to sit on the stands for the rest of the season (if the appearance clause as reported is correct) Pardew was in charge when Bent was at Charlton (taking over from Curbishley) so could be some element of truth in the rumour
  20. Fenerbache on the verge of signing Belhanda for €10M. They have to be careful now or have some decent replacements lined up now that they've selling him and Mbiwa. Certainly wont do their team's morale any good to see their top 2 influential players leaving in the same transfer window.
  21. article I came across a while back about Mira`s time here....didn`t realise he was a scout for us before....under the SBR days he almost became one of the youth coaches. http://fourfourtwo.com/news/england/26067/default.aspx aye he does have a son....by the name of Paul Ashton Hernandez so your mam was right judging by that un Brasilian name:D apparently he was on trial at West Ham a few years ago. http://www.whufc.com/articles/20010723/glenns-transfer-latest_2236884_1139433 Interview http://www.toontastic.net/board/topic/21656-mirandinha/
  22. there`s a decent amount of videos floating about on that popular video sharing site if you type in: Mirandinha Newcastle ....including his debut against Norwich/ press conference etc...interesting brings back memories of wor Mira think that hat is on there if you type : Newcastle United vs Wimbledon - September 5th, 1987
