also on twitter @DannyGraham10: Derby day ..... Come on the TOON #goodluck @DannyGraham10: Yessssss cabaye!
  2. Could see Soton going for him too now that Pochettino is in charge. He had a good loan spell there the other season under him.
  3. ouch http://www.voetbalprimeur.nl/sites/default/files/styles/news_main/public/pieters%20groot3.jpg
  4. tbf, when he took over Espanyol they were in crisis and bottom of the league....managed to steer them to mid table first season and I think the same in the second season. Espanyol are a team with few resources and have to sell their players. I think he`s a coach with alot of potential but a very risky appointment for Soton.
  5. Napoli loaned out Eduardo Vargas to Gremio in Brazil.....they paid almost 15m euros last season for him too. Thought he`d do well at Napoli.....
  6. He would have been, aye. Ffs. We must have thought we could sell him or something. Realistically what's he worth? £2-3m? We should dangle him at San Lorenzo instead. still has a decent reputation on the continent for foreign teams so could possibly get a little more for him ....or swap him a good up and coming player from Argentina like Facundo Ferreyra (13 goals in 15 apps) for Velez (Jonas` old club).....Argie clubs have nee money as everyone knows.....
  7. Argie women......some of the most beautiful women in the world..wall to wall top notch fanny there
  8. Marco Verratti has been outstanding for PSG from what I`ve heard..... Facundo Ferreyra....I see he`s a Velez player (13 in 15).....looks a good prospect that we`ve been linked with in the past. Coutinho....had a great loan spell at Espanyol last season and also available on loan now from what I`ve read too...
  9. What about Martin Olsson? I thought he was decent at Blackburn and plays left back and can play in the centre if needed. Apparently could cost around 3.5m so reasonable ,and 24 years old so fits within that structure too. Not too sure about the other LB linked, Haidara since he`s unproven and also after his comments about us clearly being 2nd choice to Roma etc...
  10. If he does end up at San Lorenzo whether that is the summer or not then I would like to think we`d insist on first option on their future up and coming players at least! They`re not as renowned as River and Boca though for producing top players though. They do have 1 outstanding young player (midfielder) called Alan Ruiz...definitely one to watch out for in future. Nicolas Arce too but I think he just got sold to a Serie A team.
  11. Ibrahim Ba Zenden (since we got L.Robert) Jeffers (since we got Bellamy) Nigel Reo Coker Zlat Knight Kris Boyd Emmanuel Mayuka Didn't realise he was playing out in Russia recently....
  12. Niko Krancjar linked with us and the filth down the road. Hope your Croatian is good http://www.jutarnji.hr/otok-srece-luku-zele-chelsea-i-united--niku-traze-newcastle-i-sunderland-/1078627/
  13. Darren Bent on loan Don`t think we could with Carroll anyway with the FIFA rule : "player is only eligible to play in Official Matches for two clubs." in 1 year. If he hadn`t signed for West Ham I`m pretty sure we would have gone back in for him though..
  14. Don`t know if this has been posted....was in the "latest stories" of newsnow.... San Lorenzo set deadline "Time is running out for the signing. "When you go for a class A defender, the timings are a bit different, but if in the next week we don't have a response then we will have to go for another option." http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/san-lorenzo-set-deadline-to-sign-wantaway-newcastle-captain-fabricio-coloccini-8448446.html
  15. Cabaye...but has AP made him captain on any occasion this season? I can only recall Shola and Jonas getting the captaincy in Colos` absence.
  16. Maybe he would be playing for Chelsea but it would have been us with the transfer profit. It was a bad decision. Yeah, sure. What Baba says has some merit as well though. Shows what a difference the selling clubs finances have to do with selling, Palace got £2.5m for Moses, seen figures of £8-12 for Zaha, is 3 or 4 times better? I doubt it. Palace were went into administration at that time so they had to sell him quickly and Wigan took advantage of that by getting him on the cheap. I'm sure had they not been they would have got more at the time.
  17. If (as expected) we`re still struggling to bring a striker in till the last minute then it might be worth a punt for John Guidetti on loan at least .Was very impressed with him at Feyenoord but obviously not getting a chance at City.

  20. from a couple days ago....but didn't see posted -- ALAN Pardew has apologised to Jonás Gutiérrez for clipping his wings this season – and says that he must take some of the blame for his winger’s subdued performances, writes MARK DOUGLAS. The Newcastle boss has deployed Gutiérrez in a central midfield role or as part of a “narrower” three-man midfield as part of a tactical reshuffle this term, but admits that it has dulled the impact of one of last season’s star men. In a candid midweek interview, Pardew pin-pointed Gutiérrez as one of his key men who had struggled to match the heights of last season – before confirming that he would “stand with” the midfielder and not drop him. To be fair Gutiérrez (pictured below) has been playing through the pain barrier for large parts of the campaign, although Pardew says that his injury has cleared up and expects him to start today’s crunch clash with QPR. In a heavy hint that he will try to move Gutiérrez back onto the wing, he admitted that playing him more centrally had caused many of the Argentinian’s problems this term. “Yeah, and I think that (his new position) perhaps that hasn’t helped him,” he said. “I take some criticism for that. I’ve played him narrower a little bit, and I think he’s got a fair argument to say that I should be playing him in position.” Although Pardew shied away from hailing today’s game against Harry Redknapp’s improving QPR as a “must win”, he is well aware of the importance of the game to United’s festive fortunes. They take on Manchester United, Arsenal and Everton over Christmas – a run of treacherous games that makes today’s Rangers clash all-important. Luckily for Pardew a clear seven days without a game gives him a week’s preparation, and has allowed him to work with Gutiérrez on the training pitch in a bid to solve a run of below-par performances. “It’s something I’m working on with him, he’s an important player for us and an important character in the dressing-room,” he said. “They’re important players, your big players. “You’ve only got to look at Jonás; he signed a new contract last year, he was fantastic last season, an unsung hero in a lot of ways, balancing us up, taking us up the pitch, giving us a rest, and he has not been at his best. “He’s had an injury he’s played with, we think he’s a lot better going into this game and I thought he improved significantly in the second half against City. “I thought he looked more like his old self. We need him to play well.” Read more: Journal Live http://www.journallive.co.uk/nufc/newcastle-united-news/2012/12/22/61634-32477912/#ixzz2FvwrEfoL

  22. couple things I read on the ajax forums....doesn't seem to be a LB (though I suppose he can fill in) A thread dedicated to our little big man. Thank god he doesn't play at lb any more, he's our best dm and I hope Frank knows this as well. Love his passion, tenacity and effort. -- No seriously Anita could be an useless player for Oranje but right now I wouldnt add him to a 23 man squad because I dont think he is good enough for LB while Oranje has got better players for that CM spot
