Jesus, they better make the Champions League or he'll bankrupt himself Seriously though Man City don't exactly bring in big money and with his recent problems with assets being frozen in Thailand Forbes now claim he's no longer a billionaire (not even a pretendy dollar billionaire ). If he's going to end up spending $600 million by next summer (total including buying the club, debt ect) then that's an absolutely massive chunk of cash for him (twice what he actually has now according to Forbes). They really are going to need regular Champions League Football within in the next couple of seasons or he might bail out leaving them with the debt. Then again if Sven does everthing right and they establish themselves in the top 3 it could set them up as a massive club. It's a general rule with Forbes that whatever the declared billionaire total is, their real wealth x2 that.

FYP. Wouldn't come as a huge surprise.
-
I'm sure he'll be ready when we have some easy home games.

Running is about 10 years out of date. Short sharp endurance sessions is where it's at.
-
I've heard the service is utter quality.

Who cares about tapping up, it's rife in the game. Get him out.
-
I think cause he's played a few games lately people are getting a bit attached to him. He will be crocked again soon. Get rid now and take the £5m or whatever. That is also 60k a week off the books.

................Viduka........ ....Martins............Owen.. ................Smith............. .......Barton..........Geremi.. Could be one way to go. In the attaking phase he would move up and make the late run with Owen and Viduka pulling defenders away. In the def phase he drops back and fights for the 2nd ball. But at man u, dint he play in the role of Nicky Butt or Scott Parker?? - Could Be wrong? Yeah but imo that isn't his strongest position. I prefer him getting amongst it with also a sniff of goal. I really don't think the holding DM is suited to his persona.

There seems to be no appreaciation for poetry these days.

...through the snow-blind and through the rain... and the pale winter light, and a black forest of echoes he will stand beside us again and he will take our pain.
-
It's the kind of player we've been lacking imo. Also cover for when we lose Martins and Geremi etc...

.....sometimes when you have been roaming the wilderness for too long you forget what the oasis looks like, infact you start thinking you don't particularly care for its sweet water and shade. As we move futher into the age of Aquarius it is the time for the resurgance of the old blood - the ancient tribes and the smelting of new swords. Long forgotten languages are whispered again in the souk, portents are seen and children are born with the gift of visions. It is the time for battle. Welcome Alan Smith.

Silly money for a slightly better than average left back. NO.
-
Smith is borderline sexy, he's certainly a tasy bit of rough.

From the Times: He explained that, with £80 million debts that are “too high for the club to support”, there is an onus on prudence. “One of Sam’s strengths is finding and buying players and we are hoping he will bring some sense and stability to the club’s signings,” Mort said. Suggestions that Ashley is regretting his purchase are misguided. “It is not a short-term project for Mike Ashley or myself,” Mort said. “If you look at the companies Mike has bought, like Dunlop and Slazenger, he has developed them over 20 years.

I don't beleive it...THere is no way that applies to all the players we might have approached, some yes...But I don't buy it as a blanket excuse. In saying that I think we're ticking along nicely.

or it was a reason why Roeder would not have gone for them. or is your memory really that short? Excellent, so basically you've informed us of something that we already knew, I can only guess that the Roeder comment was just something that randomly appeared. That's a first, somebody using Roeder to try and get a point across. in response to a post about what Roeder knew? aye totally unexpected .......not knowing SA exact budget, I suspect it is limited by the looks of things (guessing) that he has made some reasonable acqusitions (Geremi the best so far). Roze looks like he is also going to be reliable. If we're comparing to ManC then we already have 2/3 players who can make things happen/clinical etc and they didn't. So that is where Sven has been strengthening with his sexy purchases. What we needed above all was mf cover and a rock of a def and we're on the way to that imo. Kappa does look about 40 though. Having done a bit of research the left back is a real def full back which has been SA idea all along hence the no chase of Baines et al. I hope though there is one BIG purchase in this window. why are you still guessing at his budget. it's bloody obvious he has plenty to spend he can't get out of his Bolton mould pure and simple, pick up old free transfers with their careers behind them Well he should get in for Ballack (20m), Deco(14m), Motta(7m) etc then...And we'd also have a world class left back now woudn't we... ....Or are you wooshing me?

jizz fest alert. I'm really sure he's profiled these players. I bet he could tell you their resting heart-beat without even looking it up tbh Don't be mean to HTT, he's the only reason you haven't been banned forever. I'm the only reason he hasn't grown a tache and started wearing a heart monitor tbh Do you think another manager would've been more successful in the transfer market, then, Vic? I think someone more high profile might have fared a bit better don't you? but at the end of the day that's a pretty stupid question isn't it Yes.
