Rightly so, Chris, well done
-
He'll be playing through his skin on Sunday, biggest game of his career so far. If he comes on looking this determined against Arsenal, imagine what he'll want to do against the scum. Hopefully he'll be able to put it to good use as well.
-
I used to say that Lövenkrands deserves a shot in the Premier League, but after four horrible performances so far this season, I'm starting to give up. Shame, I really like the lad and he looked decent last time up as well as the championship.

Most of the Arsenal kids are better than our first team. It'd not have ended 0-4 if say, Colo, Enrique, Jonas, Carroll, Tiote and Barton had started. I dare say we'd probably have won it against the players they started with if we'd gone for it. A similar line up beat Chelsea but I bet people would have been saying exactly the same if we lost that one. I don't mind having priorities, it was a risk throwing on Carroll, Barton and Jonas but maybe he cared a little more than he made out. I still would have gone for that line up (or similar), as defeatist as it is to some people the league is priority 1, 2 and 3 for me. The main issue was right back, why play our shittest player up against their best player (in the starting eleven)? If we'd have a player playing there with some sense of tactical nous and timing we could have seen a different match. Granted, hindsights 20/20, but regardless on if I'd agree with most of the players in the starting eleven I was fuming by the sight of Perch's name in it. Fuck Perch. It's the first player who plays for us that I genuinely have started to literally despise. He's just so fucking shit. Er, Perch didn't play at right back. At any point. Left back, obviously. Perch played in the centre. Kadar was left back. Not according to the team sheet they showed on my telly. He was shit regardless. It angers me. How do you watch the entire game and don't see that he was CB? And he wasn't shit at all, surprisingly good there iyam.

Means absolutely nothing this loss. If anything, it was a good run out for the likes of Vuckic, Kadar and Ranger, even though none of them had a blinder. Encouraging to see that we got so much better after the subs, and we all know that Colo+Enrique are ten times the defenders and players that Perch and Kadar are.
-
It's been coming like. Is Lövenkrands supposed to be a winger or a striker or both? Not in the game at all. Ranger's been battling hard, but he's got pretty much no support, neither from midfield in terms of balls to work with or from a second striker to knock it down to.
-
Not that I'm wishing injury on the lad, but hopefully that means he's picked up a knock or even better is lined up for a loan move. Shola should have been on the bench ahead of Carroll as well IMO.
-
Guthrie right, Routledge left I'd imagine.
-
Disgusted that Perch is getting a game ahead of Ferguson here like. Ferguson had a terrific game at Chelsea by all accounts, and deserves a start more than Smith and Perch.

Golfmag, you've been ITK before, haven't you?
-
Isn't that just what I said?

We've known for days that Arsenal are going to field a stronger team us, and considering their reserves would arguably be better than our first team, their fringe/first team are definitely going to look better than our reserve/fringe players on paper. Anything can happen though
-
I'm sure Ashley and supporters alike are all well disappointed with us being 9th in the league and having knocked Chelsea out of the cup like. Didn't Birmingham finish 9th last year? Hughton said towards the end of last season that we would be looking at "doing a Birmingham" this season, and so far that's just what we are doing.
-
What I like about this game (was the same for the Chelsea one) is that while I will be disappointed if we lose, I won't be as fucking nervous as I would be during a normal game. It's much easier to sit back and enjoy the football on show when a) I'm expecting to lose and b) it doesn't matter that much. Of course, caring and being nervous is a massive part of supporting a football club (especially Newcastle with all our ups and downs), but it's nice for once to be able to relax just a little.
-
Good news. Hopefully if we send both Xisco and Best out on loan, that means we'll get someone else in in January [/clutchingatstraws]
-
It's just as much about giving your fringe players some time on the pitch, keeping them match fit should we need them as it is about resting the players that play every week. Plus after the performance at Chelsea, they deserve to keep going in this cup.
-
Fuck that, only a couple more years til he's eligible to play for England
-
Hughton in talking sense non-shocker
-
Hard to look past Sneijder IMO, he's been class this year and his team won the triple and he finished second in the world cup. Mourinho should get the manager one.
-
I'd fancy us at Man United if they play the same jokers as tonight. [/neverthoughtidwritethat] They were utter wank tonight, they were incredibly lucky to score 3 IMO. If they play like that against a team playing like we did against Chelsea, I'd certainly fancy us to beat them.
-
More away fans than home fans then.
-
Christ, that was amongst the most boring halves of football I've ever watched. Shit atmosphere, shit game and the Swedish commentator sounds like he could fall asleep any second (can't say that I blame him, mind).
-
Technically, how many people does it take for it to make a "crowd"?
-
so he's paid 13m for this fancy new striker and he switchs to a 4-5-1 right after that, something doesn't add up realised bents shit when playing along side someone else? But Gyan is one of the 23 best players in the world!
