  1. Their loss. Colossus tonight, again. What form he is in.
  2. Taylor and Marveaux were brilliant. You beautiful bastards. Quarter final is a very good acheivement.
  3. Campbell passes and moves in contrast to most of our players, great to have someone who does that.
  4. Marveaux stepping it up tonight. Been our most potent player and best apart from Taylor imo.
  5. Pardew wants shooting if that happens again. It could well happen though. I'd so much rather bench Papiss or Shola than see any of them on the wing. Should be a nobrainer starting Papiss and leaving Shola out tonight though.
  6. Started supporting when I was 8 in 1996 after I got an alarm-clock with the club logo on. My grandparents gave it to me just as I was getting into football for real. Didn't get around to go to Newcastle until 2008 when I saw Liverpool rip us apart and win 1-5. Was sat in the Milburn stand and didn't see anything else than Given appearing to fly for almost the entire first half, conceding three but still pushing Gerrard for the best player on the pitch. David Edgar scored from a corner towards the end of the first half but Liverpool still ran riot in the 2nd. Joe Kinnear introduced Kazenga Lua-Lua and Geremi struck the bar with a free-kick. Me and my mate got hilariously drunk in the Strawberry afterwards and fell asleep at 4pm in our hotel.
  7. Elliot Santon Yanga-Mbiwa Taylor Haïdara Anita Cabaye Jonas Sissoko Marveaux Cissé Might be in favour of an over enthusiastic inclusion of Campbell on the wing. Don't want Obertan to play and we know Gutierrez will give us more limitations than options going forward. We need to score. Marveaux isn't a winger but will probably play there anyway.
  8. Out. Getting specialist in to "get to the bottom of the problem". Fucking shit.
  9. Moussa in the no 10 role has become our best attacking outlet in the last few games, his and Gouffran's movement/forward runs are a new dimension and something I'd describe as vital to our attacking play. Playing him deeper would take that away from us and make us more reliant on Ben Arfa/Santon like earlier in the season.
  10. Taylor taunting their keeper as he was trying to build his wall for the Cabaye free kick, and then running over and basically tea-bagging the poor b****** after it went in - that was the highlight of the whole match for me. I thought he was rushing to the net to grab the ball at first, then it turns out he just wanted to shove his nuts in the keeper's face and holler abuse at him instead Aye really weird nobody picked up on it, Begovic hit him pretty good before we took the free kick. Think that provoked Taylor's strong reaction.
  11. I'm a bit puzzled by Tioté now. For a long period I just took for granted that he struggled to pick up pace after being out etc., like he has in the past. But something has changed about his game. He's not getting close to opposition players in the way he used to, he's not controlling or winning the battle like he used to. His performances against Chelsea and Arsenal towards the end of last season, that player dominated the midfield, he was unbeatable in duels and could close down attacks by sheer determination and aggression. Not only has he lost timing and sharpness, his energy isn't the same and he's just not getting close to the action in the way he used to. It's strange.
  12. Fucking hell he's what so many teams need as well. What have done to deserve these players coming our way. My favourite of the January signings, absolute top class and slotting in straight away.
  13. Great interview. So happy for him, very exciting to have him coming through.
  14. If we can go with Hatem, Cissé, Moussa and Marveaux in the home tie, we'll probably score. An equally sound defensive performance and we're good. Will be a nailbiter, I think we limited them very well last night, but we need to score now and that could harm us. I felt we still lacked pace last night, and we still are to some degree. Sissoko is quick once he gets going, but in terms of running off the ball and getting in behind defences, Gouffran is sorely missed. Cissé for all his movement isn't very quick either. Yanga-Mbiwa and Haïdara look f***ing superb both of them. Also nice to see Perch performing again, such a good pro and top player to have in the squad. Right back at Nottingham three years ago, took Lacina Traore and Samuel Eto'o out of the game last night.
  15. Vintage Perchenbauer tonight. Couldn't do anything wrong, so calm and composed. Good cover from the midfield has to be said, but that's what he looked like last spring.
  16. Apparently the "President of Dagestan" pretty much gave the club to Semirov, who currently owns them. Russian politics in a nutshell.
  17. I very much doubt they'll have seen him play. IRL, yes. On FM, he knows.
  18. was he not injured then though. At Brighton he wasnt.
  19. Most worried about Willian. Just realised today they have Lassana Diarra as well. A couple of really good players in their team. Big test this.
