Thought he grew into the game nicely but I was also disappointed he didn’t finish that 1 on 1, I think it’s pretty inexcusable for a forward not to finish those, even Isak. He got better, though, and it was noticeable that Villa were doubling up on him and no-one else in our team. He’ll be a good player for us in time, the only question is how soon he’ll start to have a real impact, but I don’t think it will be too long.

Thought we’d get a draw and said so in pre match thread, but I certainly wasn’t expecting Villa to be that bad. That said, we have an effect on the ability of other teams to play well, and we stopped them playing for most of the game. It’s very nice to have some competitive football back to discuss, it’s easy to get caught up in the media narrative of what will and won’t happen to NUFC due to transfer business.
