  1. haway mate, every single derby is changed to an early kick off, weren't you expecting it?
  2. dont see why, Nolan will still be playing up front and getting dropped into midfield when shola comes on
  3. it was only yesterday i was saying i hope he doesnt dig his heels in to show who's boss and he's showing signs of it already.
  4. glad we're persisting with at least trying to bring in youth talent to be honest, thumbs up.
  5. well for one it shows that he didnt put one good cross in during 90 mins of football. it's pretty damning evidence imo. especially playing at home. Or it could also show that no one was getting in the box on the end of perfectly good crosses. possibly, am i reading that chart incorrectly? does it mean that he put 0 successful crosses in? or that he put 0 crosses in? ahh fuck it, we need to be better up front. Not that I'm a fan of Routledge's crossing but can remember at least one which went across the goal invitingly and no one was anywhere near. If we assume that Carroll was heavily marked then I would say that Nolan, the two wide players and Barton should be the ones arriving in the box to give support. I don't think that was the case very often was it? i cant remember us creating any chances at all, i remember a lot of useless, high lofted balls into the area. ben arfa for one looked like he had the shackles on him and i said so during the match, as soon as he ran at them they shit themselves. if we could get him doing that in the middle of the pitch it might make space out wide for routledge and jonas? ffs just drop nolan so we can see if it works.

  7. it seems so obvious doesnt it? wish it was to the coaching staff.

  9. looks like we could do with a few more bodies in for this one? haway
  10. i hope this Nolan thing doesnt turn into a bone of contention and Hughton digs his heels in to show who's boss. i mean, surely everyone he's talking to is telling him to do it?
  11. if he HAS to play Nolan, i might be inclined to play Ben Arfa in Bartons position at home and give him licence to wander, his passing is very good and that's before he starts having a run at people. really though, drop Nolan and give Ben Arfa a run in his position with Jonas on the left.
  12. ben arfa's started dribbling, at last, he's looked a bit restrained so far.
  13. stoke look there for the taking like, and we're playing well so far. what a difference tiote makes
  14. liking that starting lineup, with the possible exception of ben arfa up top and nolan not on the pitch i think thats our strongest team.
  15. because its fucking sam allerdyce i agree with the sentiment but i'd prefer us to stay up than him to lose a few games
  16. i'm looking at the positives, at least blackpool are losing. and there's every chance we'll get a win tomorrow.
  17. OK then, he rests some first-teamers and bloods some youngsters. It's clear he doesn't send out a bunch of 14 year olds and go "pass them to death you fuckers!" I think the side against Spurs was a tad stronger than people imagined, because it was Spurs. I'm sure I read somewhere that the reason Arsenal sent out a "stronger than usual" team against Spuds was not so much because of the derby, but because many of the youngsters he would have used are injured, and thus Wenger played first teamers out of necessity... EDIT: Here it is http://soccernet.espn.go.com/columns/story?id=825678&sec=england&root=england&cc=3436 Having said that, reading the whole article gives Wenger's motives a different perspective - and it's one backed up by Rosicky in this article: http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=826138&sec=england&cc=3436&cc=3436 he's not gonna win the championship this season, dafty
