  1. If you're going to go that plain, at least go full length sleeve stripes.

Absolutely the wrong topic for this but a lot of people stopped going to force Mike to sell as he clearly wasn’t interested and was only trying to keep up above water. Now he’s very clearly desperate to sell, seeming as much as we are happy for him to leave. Does that change peoples stance on going to games? Or is the club just abandoned until it’s sold? I’ve stayed away since Rafa walked for those reasons. Despite everything feeling terrible does that perspective change for some people? I can't speak for others but I'll still not attend any games until he's gone. Granted, that's easy for me to say from the other end of the country where I pay hundreds for the privilege of attending one or two home games and closer away games a year. Think I saw someone in another thread mention the possibility of fans reasoning as you've said; 'well he clearly wants to sell now so he will when he can. lets go support the team in the meantime'. I don't want to be a part of anything that might warm him to keeping the club in the slightest. Keep the pressure on.

Seeing Fulham away last day made me a bit sad. Reminded me of Rafa's final game and the fact that's the last time I actively go and support the club for the foreseeable.
  4. I don't know what you lot expect. You complain for depth and you've been given it. Not only have we snagged a midfielder from a top ten club but we've now held on to our hot prospect who was being courted across the continent. Everything's coming up Newcastle.
  5. Exactly what I need to see. Steve Bruce become a martyr for the cause.

Shame about Covid restrictions or they could've broken out the scaffolding from when Shearer signed to let the throngs of returning support welcome him in a way he deserves.
  7. Hope one of the questions was "is this still an ongoing process or not?" Can't wait for the groundbreaking 'no comment' response.
  8. Please stop sharing anybody's tweets and if you really have to post them put them in the brain dead twatter thread rather than making this one unreadable for anyone with a modicum of intelligence. You say this like removing references to Twitter will make this thread readable?
  9. As NE27 says you've got some solid ideas that could definitely be put to good use in ordinary circumstances, but isn't today's meeting via Zoom? Suppose that could make it easier for the PL to palm off any challenging line of questioning? Only if you let them. I was fewming for weeks afterwards. But apparantly being crap at your job isnt unlawful. I reckon they might have access to the mute button though Yeah this was where I was coming from. Get a little out of line and I'm sure they'll mute or have 'technical troubles'.

if i recall correctly, so many english teams refused it one year that UEFA started talking about banning english clubs from their other competitions, and a bunch of teams pretty much had their arms twisted to enter. edit: here we go don't know what's winding me up more here, him calling out anyone else as a mercenary, or using the word 'we' to describe a team he was allowed to guest for in a brief series of games they'd essentially decided in advance to throw. worra cunt! Don't even know what he really means by mercenary in the circumstances, which he called himself too. He went there on loan, so surely he just got paid his usual Charlton salary which he would've gotten anyway?
  13. More importantly have Redbird Capital done any business since Penn last posted? Oh what a tangled web.

I only ever knew it as a tournament you had to apply for so was confused by the idea that Spurs would enter just to then essentially throw the games. Was it just a given you'd compete originally in the same way as the CL and EL?
  15. The fact is he's still the closest local source to the buyers. Imo the only black mark against him throughout this was the 'hope your fridge is working' tweet or whatever it was. Otherwise he's been fairly consistent and blunt about the fact he's simply relaying what the buyers are telling him. Compare that to near enough all other 'journalists' who are just playing literal guessing games. I daresay the buyers should be more discredited by the whole thing considering they're the ones that were feeding him that shite. If he chose not to relay what the buyers were telling him simply because he didn't believe what they were saying he would've been given fucking pelters.
  16. He is on vacation for God sake. God forbid a reporter actually goes dark when they say they're on vacation. I wish he were more like Edwards; 'busy' when someone challenges him then conveniently returns just in time to gloat about something.
  17. Ignoring the fact it's a non-starter anyway, I wouldn't even want to guess the kind of sum Shearer would need to be offered to consider moving from punditry in to football management. It's clear he's not interested or he would've tried it even just one more time since his stint with us. Ignoring the lack of experience and the concerns of who he seems to rate in football management (bringing Dowie as he number two, didn't he majorly rate Souness too?), the lack of interest alone should be enough to not want to pursue him.
  18. Well they're heading in the right direction at least. Fucking hell they're grim.
  19. Those West Brom kits look like the type where the legacy hinges solely on whether they have a great or middling/shite season.
