  1. Can't argue, Ameobi done a job today, and Carroll needed to be shown that he's not undroppable, which is what people have been intimating recently. He's dropped off, and needs to get back what he had in the first few games.
  2. Was very happy. Was a bit worried after the reviews I've read of him in the reserves, but put any worries to the back of my head, more than comfortable to have him in the team now.

    James Perch

I was impressed with him today, in comparison to some of his previous games. Jury's still out on him for me, who knows if he gets some confidence in him.
  4. The last thing we need right now is to lose Colo for a period of time, he's been immense. Really begun to prove himself and I don't want him to lose the confidence that he's built.
  5. That's the problem. Other than Ryan Taylor, who is there that can deliver a good ball? Enrique? He's got a sweet foot on him...
  6. Fantastic today, whenever the ball came to him I didn't worry in the slightest.
  7. Where would be the best place to place a bet that the 3 promoted teams will stay up? I want to place that now that Blackpool have beaten Liverpool.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

I can't believe it. Well, I can, it's just our luck. I feel so bad for HBA, poor bloke, you have to appreciate the acknowledgement to the crowd, great guy. We still need to nail him down permanently as long as this injury doesn't affect him too much. Even if he won't appear for a long tim this season.
  9. That's kinda like saying Nolan CAN be a threat to teams by scoring goals. It doesn't really mean a hell of a lot if they're rarely doing it. It's not that we think Routledge is good enough, we all realise he's not up to standard right now. But we'd rather have him on than Ryan Taylor. At least he's got something to throw at the opposition in his pace, rather than Taylor, except his set pieces, which I don't think are that good that they replace Routledge.
  10. I'm proud of the lads today. we certainly didn't disgrace ourselves. When Ben Arfa went down I feared the worst, I thought we were going to capitulate, and fair play, we didn't. It's a horrendous shame about HBA, because he really can make a difference in any game. Jonas was great today, must start next game. Perch was solid enough, and then my spirits dropped when Colo went off, but Campbell was good. I've seen people blame our players for Johnson's goal, I personally put it down to Johnson's work. He's a good player, he turned our guys inside out and got an exceptional strike on the ball, I couldn't argue with that goal at all personally. We need to get out of this idea that every goal we concede is our fault. We're playing a good team here in Man City, they've got good players. Although the ref was against us from the start. How he didn't consider the Ben Arfa challenge a foul is beyond me. I jumped up the instant he went down, didn't look right, and lo and behold, Ben Arfa's out for at least a few months. Atkinson wasn't it? Shocking game for him. But to reiterate, I'm proud of the lads today.

    Sunderland...

Okay have I missed out? Have they realised the utter embarrassment of whatever it is and deleted it? It says invalid thread
  12. I've laughed at that and Princess Diana, I'm ahead of you in the queue don't worry.
  13. I would be ashamed, but at the same time, we've won the FA Cup, it'd only be mild shame. If we blatantly deserved the win based on our performance I'd try and rationalise it in that sense too, claiming just rewards etc just to make me feel a bit better about it.
  14. This has turned into one of the best threads on the forum tbh!
  15. Don't even have to search google to know what you posted!
  16. I feel like I've missed out now.
  17. I'm going to hell and I don't care, I just laughed out loud!
  18. I saw someone mention that in the Villa game they thought he was the worst offensively, I'm glad I wasn't the only one. I was sat with people raving about him saying they thought he was playing great and that Guti was shocking, when I thought it was the other way round. I do think it's in his head, you don't lose the creativity he had last season overnight, if he gets his head straight I think he can make it in the top flight. And neesy made a good point, maybe getting Simpson back will be a bit more help, as they'll have more of an understanding than he and Perch. Right now, he's in our best XI and we have to live with that. It's just a matter of Hughton being man enough to play that best XI, drop Nolan, and have all 3 of Ben Arfa, Routledge and Guti playing. If we had all 3, it'd give defences a lot more to think about, and they couldn't focus on playing any one player out of the game, giving them all a bit more time and space, and in the process it would probably help calm Routledge down.
  19. I looked at the teams left, and it's only Man U or Arsenal that fill me with any doubt. We've got what it takes to beat any of the others (whether we do is another matter). We need to go for this, how often are there only 2 of the big teams left in the last 16!? If any team's going to pull off a shock cup win anytime soon, it looks like this is one of the best chances in a while.
  20. This has been a great 3 pages to catch up on! Good work lads.
  21. I love anything insulting Big Sam as much as the next guy, but that was horrendous I gave up when it got to Diouf.
  22. We might as well play Krul. I was in the Harper camp previously, but if he's injured, why bring another 'keeper in, who's not going to be that great, hence why his club would be willing to loan him out to us. Why stunt Krul's growth further? Only reason I'd bring Given back is pettiness to put him on the bench, but obviously that's not going to happen.
  23. As much as watching Man U crumble under a mediocre Liverpool comeback was fun, can't argue with the result, Liverpool have been so average the majority of the game. It was Man U's own doing that going them back in the game, rather than their own good play.
