  1. They are the surest bet in the weekend coupon. Always going to get beat until we're sold. They look beaten before a ball is kicked. Fucking woeful.
  2. I was thinking of doing Spurs/Citeh too actually. So yes, imo.

    Kenny Dalglish

Couldn't think of many I would want less than Daglish. I'll never forgive him for butchering the original KK side. My worst nightmare seeing him in the home dug out at SJP.
  4. Again, I'm surprised KK came back when the structure, and more importantly the annual budget, was made clear to him. I'm a KK fan and sad to see him go but he's a chequebook manager with a terrific ability to motivate, get an extra 10%, have players run through walls for him etc. I don't think he'd be content to make a gradual improvement, year on year, whilst relying upon a blend of youth and experience. I think he's the kind of guy who wants success and wants it now. I've got a lot of time for the principles of the structure but now, in hindsight, wonder whether or not KK was the man to lead us at this stage of the stabilisation/building process.
  5. This statement makes me even more surprised KK came back tbh. He would never achieve his ambitions/vision at a club spending £20m per year. On Ashley, I think it's a very good statement, certainly too late in coming but he confirms what I thought he had in mind and I'm hugely supportive of the approach. In fact, I think the approach is the only way to run NUFC from now on. I'd rather have it this way than have a Thaksin or some foreign sugar daddy who can bin us on a whim. Sorry to see him sell and think re-appointing KK in the first place was his killer mistake. Sticks tin hat on.
  6. That and, No more John Motson Fuck aye. I'm dreading the day he retires, you just know that THAT clip will be shown a million times. Met him in the lift down from the Bamburgh Suite, he was with Graham Taylor. Got talking to them, Motson was a complete tosser, Taylor was a top, top bloke. My experience of Motson is similar. A complete cock. Fucking awful bloke
  7. Young wasn't in the squad, Cole must be injured, Gerrard is defo out (having an op) and Ferdinand was ruled out during the week. Simply can't understand Capello's thinking here. Yet Heskey, Walcott and Downing all are. Disgrace. Not to mention Jenas. How he makes the England squad, time after time, is beyond comprehension.
  8. How come Vetere/Jimenez get such low %'s when they have specific 'senior player recruitment roles' whereas Wise is primarily in place to build up the academy? I have to say I feel Wise has been hugely criticised because he was a little shit of a player. This is hugely judgemental of him in respect of his current role and probably excessively unfair. Rose tinted glasses worn by many on here imho.
  9. Wouldn't surprise me if KK stills attends to provide him with a character reference tbh.
  10. We need to appoint a manager that can continue Keegan's on-field progress, which imo, has been to get the first team using the football on the floor rather than the route one approach of Allardyce, Souness etc. We need someone who will keep the new boys, as well as the existing decent players (see Owen etc) happy and not someone likely to get people's backs up. My money, fwiw, will be on one of; - Redknapp or; - Up and coming Spanish Manager Not necessarily my preferences but that's what I think will happen. The downside, of course, is that there is nobody who will be accepted as KK's successor in the way that Dalglish was initially. Shearer is the only one who may get a good shot at it but there's little chance of him wanting it. I can't think of anyone else who we could appoint that could appease the fans. FWIW, and a controversial viewpoint perhaps, I'd be in favour of the new structure staying as it is if we can find a new Manager prepared to work within it.
  11. Everytime I see that Shaun Custis on SSN I want to put my foot through the TV.
  12. I think he'll be off from Portsmouth this season now that the money looks like it's dried up. If KK goes, I'll have a punt on him to come here. Not that I like the saggy faced, bong eyed, jellied eel eating prick mind. Did the money dry up, or did he just overspend? I'm not 100% sure but I think his net spend has been limited this summer and there was talk of selling to buy. He'll not like that at all imo. Especially after his heavy spending over the last couple of summers. I'm not sure how clubs like Portsmouth could sustain mega salaries for the likes of Campbell and Diarra to be honest.

  14. He's lucky his team is in London for starters and he inherited with a good defence, the latter being a possible parallel for Sven and now Hughes at Citeh. I doubt the average club in the Prem could have signed Bergkamp when Wenger got him. Just as the average club could not have signed Deco, even though he only cost 8 million. Lots of respect to Wenger though. He's still easily the best I reckon. I've got loads of time for Wenger but, whichever way you look at it, he had the perfect environment in which to embed his philosophies etc. He wouldn't have been a success here for example, certainly not under freddie anyway. Oh, and Rioch signed Bergkamp, btw.
  15. Are they quoting him? If not, that means absolutely fuck all.
  16. Is the Llambias theory right? Beginning to sound it. Llambias tried to fire KK, KK thought he was gone. Ashley found out and has now tried to get him back. What's the Llambias theory - I must've missed it................
  17. I don't agree, I think Wise, Vetere and Jiminez are doing an outstanding job judging by the players being brought in. If KK gets his way, who is going to scout Europe for these players? Terry fucking Mac? I hope it's just a case of Keegan throwing his toys because Barton was nearly sold behind his back. That needs to be sorted, apologies accepted and hopefully Keegan will cool down and realise this is where he belongs. Great shout and my thoughts exactly. I've got a lot of time for the new structure. Personalities aside, I'd like a manager who is happy to choose positions he needs, let the new lads scout and set up the deal and the gaffer signs if off. People are quick to forget that KK has done this before under the previous regime.
  18. He's certainly spat the dummy out but I think he might have met his match in Ashley.
  19. See what you're saying but that wasn't in the days of SSN or internet chat/technology. I think he may see this as too public to back down. IMO. The publicity is strengthening Keegan's position and putting the heat on Ashley and his cronies! I see what your saying but my point is more about KK and his pride. He may feel too proud to 'come back' as it were.

  21. Other way around if you ask me. He's hoyed the teddy and stormed out and they've said they're not changing strategy but he's welcome to be a part of it. IMHO, of course.
  22. Ok, I said I wouldn't jump to conclusions or assume anything but here is my take on what's happened; - KK is pissed off due to lack of bodies throughout the window and wants a showdown with Big Mike. - Mike, Jeff and little Den are present and KK fumes - KK storms out furious with the lack of action saying he's quit - Big Mike reassures him of his plans for the club and gives KK until xx 'O'Clock to change his mind before announcing it publically. We're in that period now. Hence no official noise from the club.
