I much more preferred Dyer on the right wing ahead of Bowyer/Ambrose/Solano with his pace and dribbling to make space in the middle for Viana.

Manquillo started playing on the left in a back 4. I think everyone saw an improvement when he was moved to right back, and even more improvement when Rafa changed the system to a back 5 with wing backs. Diame started as a replacement for Sissoko in an offensive midfield role. When Rafa again tweaked the system and gave him a more defensive role he is more suited to he "became good". I think Krafth would probably do better if we reverted to a back 4 again and use him as a defensive full back, as he is almost as limited as Dummett, but that would be to the detriment of the team. If Bruce is going to continue with Rafas 3-2-2-2-1/5-4-1 system, Manquillo should be a clear starter.

And even if he played Robertson, it was more of a punt from Liverpool on him. No big fee transfer, no other big clubs interested. I don't think Liverpool ever intended for him to be anything but a back-up player.
