    Joelinton

Wasn't aware of that, but yeah, then it's definitely the case. Afaik Shelvey is reportedly on ~80k a week.
  2. Imagine if consumers collectively realized how much power they actually had and refused to pay for tv-subscription, tickets, merchandise until it was at a more reasonable level. I don't think there's many people out there who doesn't think footballers are over paid and out of touch with the fans, or people that think tickets and tv subscriptions are reasonably priced, agents in general are whores, leadership is corrupt etc. It would all come to a quick end if no money came in, and it would force a change for the better in the long run. In a way Newcastle is a micro version of football as a product these days. A great majority thinks giving it up won't help because there's so many others that are not prepared to give it up, so it ends up that you just eat the shit you get served because it's better than nothing, kinda.

    Joelinton

He's most likely closer to 100k a week than 50k, if not more.
  4. Exactly Baffling that people keep comparing the starts of the season. How is it representative to compare how a team performed 1 year ago instead of a few months ago?

It's impossible to judge him considering how the team is playing, but I am fairly certain Rondon would have done better both in contributing to winning and retaining the ball as a lone battering ram, and in terms of goals return. Rondon scored 9 in 34, 8 in 37 and 7 in 37 in the league in his three seasons for WBA under Pulis and Pardew. Joelinton has a job to do if he is going to match that.
  6. Both Longstaffs had this annoying habit this weekend of passing the ball backwards when they received the ball with their back to goal even though they had time to turn around and look for more positive options. Besides that, and one awful pass by Matty in transition that could have lead to a good opportunity, I didn't see much wrong with either of their performances. Matty is clearly the pressing one while Sean is covering. Both did well imo with some really nice play a couple of times. Sean has struggled with the tempo of matches so far this season but felt he had a bit more spark about him, a bit more rapid more like what we saw last season so I hope it has just been a matter of getting back to form after his injury.
  7. Nope, not a red It's a red 10/10 times. Stop being silly Still, that tackle wasn't intentional by Longstaff. He didn't complain about the decision, and looked anxious that he had caused an injury.
  8. Exactly. It wasn't even intentional. People need to calm down
  9. Harsh from a few on here on Sean. Look at the replay before spewing shit. It was a red, but it was an accident where his foot bounced off Neves and hit him a second time further up his leg. You saw the reaction from Sean right afterwards that it was a bad one.
  10. It's about as creative as you'd expect from the sheep Ashley has herded into the stadium
  11. Oh my, Lampart has the same fist pump/swing up against the fans as Pardew had. PTSD initiated.
  12. Got KDB and Sterling captain too. Looking like a decent week this
  13. Got Evans, Soyocu and Vardy. Can't complain so far.
  14. Someone should be sacked for not signing him to a pay as you train deal instead. Big loss for Mikes wallet.

    Rafa Benítez

Can't wait to step be carried out of my flying car and get wheeled to my seat. fyp
  16. Maybe that's what he's turned into now, but in the championship and first half of the subsequent premier league season for us he showed he could score all kind of goals, including those "easy" goals where his anticipation and runs is what made the goals easy to score.

    Rafa Benítez

It's the rational thing to think, yet here we are, over 11 years since "that" summer transfer window when Keegan left.
  18. Why in gods name would Stam have any reason or incentive to make up a lie like that? On the other hand, it is in Ashleys best interest to deny it.
  19. Had Lundstram on the bench for Sokratis :S
  20. Guendouzi is probably my favorite player to watch in the premier league so far this year. I might have missed it, but every time I've watched him at least he's never made a mistake. He's always moving and open to receive the ball, always playing the ball forward, got a deceptive turn of pace, excellent passing, dribling and shooting technique.
  21. Good point, didn't think about that. Then he's most likely gone
  22. I'm not so sure. Can see a lot of the top teams opting for a younger player. Alderweireld is only 30, Verthongen 32. If they replace one of them with Schar who turns 28 this year it'll only be stop gap replacement. For the money we'd need to part company with Schar I can't see how that can be justified. Can see the bigger teams either not consider him good enough, or wanting someone younger. Could see maybe Wolves targeting him since they play a similar system to the one Schar has excelled at here under Benitez, maybe Leicester too. None of the "top 6" though.
  23. Luckily the entire world did crap this game week, so a low score isn't that big of a deal.
  24. For me he has exceeded expectations just by staying fit since he came back from injury.
